There's A Lot You Can Miss When You're Stargazing

Samanta clutched the medium sized bottle of black dye in her hands, she wanted to dye part of her mane black. The dye was dark black and had a sickly sweet smell to it. The smell was ghastly, but it would get the job done. Samantha knew that the dye was basically harmless, but would stay in her fur for a long time to come. Smiling and looking around, she walked to a small stream and filled up a bowl of water, this could be tricky. Samantha wanted to experiment, many lupines around had dyed their fur. What would the others at Ichika think when she waltzed back into the territories with a black mane? Giggling nervously, she put the thick gloves over her hands. Dumping a bit of the dye over her open palms, Samantha was giddy with excitement.

Spreading the dye into the roots of her fur and keeping her head bowed, the smell almost made her heave and gag. Things were going well, this had been what she was taught. Her hair was soaked with the stuff. She sat down and waited. She knew from dying clothing that you had to wait for it to set in and soak. When the time was spent up, she poured the bowl of water over her head. The coldness soaked into her skull and made her shiver. This was strange and weird for her. Henna was awfully strong and a powerful dye. Smantha stood up and looked into her backpack. An old shirt was stuffed in and Sam smiled and dried her head over and over with it until her crania was dry. She took out a knife from her bag and looked at herself in her reflection, her mane was successfully dyed black. She didn't look half bad at all. Happy with her results, Sam gathered her things and started to walk away, wondering what her next move in life would be.
