--set off Inferni's coast

Iskata had left Magdalena and Ember off in Labyrith Glen trying to figure out what they were going to do with the quaint little cottage Iskata had claimed as her own den. She'd laughed at all their little ideas on remodeling but in the end she left it down to their imagination. She doubted that her children were really going to destroy the place and whatever they did could be undone if it really did turn out to be a horrible job. Iskata sighed and shook her head as she padded down the sandy coast towards Inferni. She wanted to talk to Faolin about what had happened, after her argument with Mew about the things that Haku had done and the danger she was putting her own pack into Iskata knew talking to her own relatives was useless, perhaps begging her friend would be what needed done. The whole pack didn't deserve to pay for the violence of one..

She paused along the shore as she saw the markers that Inferni used to warn off the wolves. Shaking her head she looked back the way she came, Dhalia was so far behind her yet so close. She wondered what would happened if talking to both sides failed... would she be able to stand aside and watch members of her own blood be ripped apart, or her own friends. Bowing her head she prayed that it wouldn't come down to that.. She wasn't even sure if Haku deserved to die for his deeds.. but she didn't really know how to fix any of the problems at hand, if begging wouldn't work.

She cast her eyes back towards Inferni and squared off her shoulders as she marched on, a determined gleam in her eyes as she hoped this would save a life or two. Deep down though she feared that it would do no good.. she doubted that Faolin could change anything in this war.. she didn't even know if Faolin would want to, perhaps her friendship with the co-leader of the clan was just that special, that Faolin didn't care for any other wolf no matter who they were related to. Whatever it may be she had to try.

indent Gabriel had caught her scent from the numerous trails in his home. She was foolhardy to think he would let her walk here, friendship with his mate notwithstanding. Faolin was free to choose her friends, but Gabriel did not approve of allowing them to roam freely within Inferni soil. He had been sitting up on the rocky cliff that hung above the beach, and watched the female make her way across the border. With that, he was climbing down the path with silent ease, dark fur hiding his form until he reached the shore and advanced to meet the stranger (who, in truth, was not that at all). “You need to leave,” he said calmly, placing himself directly in her path.

Iskata did not fail to see the form cross her path, but her hope seemed to shatter as he stopped dead in her tracks. She paused with her ears pinned back as she studied him but didn't stop until she reached where he stood. Ignoring his words for the moment she met his golden eyes, "Hello Gabriel..." she said, no emotion in her voice as she watched the male before her. There were so many things she wanted to say to him but she couldn't, she wouldn't. She'd let it go, or atleast tried to, letting those bitter words cross her lips would only bring more pain.

Ignoring his command was probably not the best choice she could make, she knew she wouldn't get away forever with coming to their lands to meet Faolin, this was what had happened last time, why there was so much hatred between the two on the coast now, besides the obvious fact that her blood was pure and no good in his eyes. "Not even allowed on the lands that surround Inferni's border now." the words she said weren't a question, since she'd yet to trek on his lands and already she was being told to leave. Narrowing her eyes as he stood in her way she gave up, "I want to see Faolin..." she demanded. If he demandedone thing, she could too, afterall, they weren't in Inferni yet.

indent He did not hate her directly, only what she represented. She was the past, the arrogance, the war. She was the woman who had, so long ago, helped drive his father away. She had been the reason Faolin had left. For those reasons, she was no friend of his. He stared back at her, eyes cold and intense, as if perhaps they could bore a hole into her skull. His eyes were the eyes of his mother, and they gave nothing but hatred for the enemies of his home. “You weren’t intending on staying here,” he said sharply, knowing in his heart this was true. “You’ve crossed our borders several times—it cannot happen again.” The vague threat was made, echoed by his eyes.

She narrowed her eyes at Gabriel, the words he said meant nothing to her, the thoughts in his head were biased and only excuses for what he couldn't face. She'd never driven Faolin away, they all had been part of the chaos that had caused her to run. Iskata and her mate had been taking a stroll along the beach and had run into Faolin and Gabriel. Faolin had been racing ahead of Gabriel and before Iskata knew what had happened her mate had went after the hybrid. Gabriel had done right to protect Faolin but in the process of the two females screaming for the boys to hault it had ended, Tainted Fears had lost his life and the lives of the three remaining had forever changed. She felt her ears pin back against her head as she snarled, "What do you care, you've always tried to keep us apart, can't you see what it's doing to her.." Her eyes were bare pinpricks as she glared at the male before her. She didn't care that he was Ahren's son or that he had killed her mate, atleast not at this moment, she wasn't going to walk out of Faolin's life, not now, not ever.

"Only twice did I leave the borders.. and only once had it been on purpose.." She spat. She had always sat at the borders waiting for Faolin, the two times she'd cross the lands had been for good reasons, the first had been when Haku had killed the innocent mother and child and she'd fallen upon the form of Faolin's mother, raped and beaten by Iskata's own nephew. The second had been on purpose, but she was glad she had, only then had she met Gabriel's and Faolin's daughter. She repeated herself again. "I need to see Faolin..." she knew she could speak to Gabriel about the things that had happened, but she knew better than to believe it would stop the bloodshed or even end in anything good. He hated everything she was, she hated everything he believed.

indent He kept his temper in check, glaring at her evenly. She would get no rise out of him yet. She had not yet pushed him to that point. “You can see her, but not in Inferni’s land,” he said, shifting his weight. There was no need to explain why. Even though Gabriel would not strike her, he could not speak for the clan, and he knew their methods all too well. “Stay away from here,” he warned her again, eyes narrowing. “I don’t think my clan would take kindly to a wolf in our territory.”

The words that he spoke made her throw her head back and laugh. Laugh. The threats he made she knew in full were real, but the words he spoke were so bitterly true that she couldn't help it. Soon enough the dying laughter flitted to an end and she stared back at him, the dark humor she found in his words showing still in her eyes. "Yes, we know how kindly they take to wolves.." Narrowing her eyes at Gabriel she continued. "I can almost understand why the hatred's come full circle how... almost." The words she spat were bitter, filled with emotion from long buried memories resurfacing and current events bound together. She should have stopped there but she didn't. "After all the things you.. your clan's done.. and still. For her. I'd defend the lot of you..." her stutter in words was a sad coverup for the wounds she still felt, knowing that the sword had bit all hands involved she should have shut up, but she hadn't.

"I'm sorry Gabriel.." she said, and somewhere inside she actually meant it, though she didn't believe for a second that he'd accept it. That night had been a turning point in their lives that wasn't forgetable.. though she could forgive. Turning back to him she flicked her tail back and forth irritated. She knew after the words she'd spat at him sorry probably wasn't enough.
