She hated to admit it, but Terra was well and truly lost. Leaving the mountains she'd tried to head back to her pack, only to find herself in some kind of bay area. What was she supposed to do? Sitting down Terra stared at the water. Maybe she could swim back to her pack. She didn't even know if the water was connected to the coast where her pack was though. The only way would be to retrace her steps, and the scent had grown too dull to follow!

Frustrated Terra growled to herself. She was used to being on her own, but she really missed her pack. The warmth of other canines and the games that she played with them was something she longed for with all her heart. Playing with loners and canines from other pack just wasn't the same. Maybe she should just give up ever making it back, become a loner again. Grimacing she shook her head. Terra had hated that lifestyle, joining a pack as soon as possible. It was too hard finding food on her own.

Broken glass is luxury; Friendly fires are alchemy

Bastion had done his usual tasks before leaving Salsola, bathing in floral scented water in order to mask the scent of the pack as well as pulling on his pair of panties with which to hide the mark. The actions, while he hadn't partaken of them before ending up in Salsola, had quickly become second nature to him. It had become routine for him to hide where he came from as was the culture of the family. Secrecy was the most important factor in remaining within the place. It was something that Bastion was able to adhere to easily enough.

The rodent that had attracted the small male's attention was an interesting one indeed. Rather than running and hiding as the smaller mammals usually did this one didn't but displayed aggression instead. That was enough to easily amuse the feminine appearing male. Of course it also prompted him to try and do more to provoke the small creature just to see what it would continue to do. To see if it would continue to act in the manner in which it was or if it was all bravado and it would end up backing down after awhile.

Either way the lemming ended up sacrificing its life for Bastion's amusement. Or well, actually it hadn't given up its life just yet. No, Bastion had decided to slice it open while it was still alive. He had forced the animal onto its back so that he could cut open the belly with a claw in order to take a peek inside to see just the way that things worked upon the inside. The male stared in fascination as the organs moved while performing their functions and ended up poking a finger lightly at them in order to feel them. It was an odd display that he had seen multiple times before in other animals that he had opened up but it still never ceased to amaze him.

Terra sat up as the scent of another canine blew to her. Cheerful she darted down the path, coming across an odd looking wolf. He smelled like flowers. Distinguishing the rest of the scent was difficult, though she could identify his gender and that he was a pure wolf. Curious she came over, trying to figure out how he'd managed that scent. It was really weird, especially considering there were no flowers around.

Moving around Terra peered over the small wolf's shoulders, looking at the squirming creature beneath his grasp. It was still alive, though sliced open. The wolf didn't seem to be in any hurry to eat it though. What a waste. What are you doing? Curious Terra moved around to be in front of the petite creature. She studied him carefully, wondering what had brought the flower creature there. Maybe he could help her get home.

Word Count → 382 :: Table & Coding © Tammi; Just so you know you are supposed to be trying for a min. of 200 words. Didn't say anything the first time because you were close to it but this time not so much as well as not giving a lot to work off of for me to reply to. So basically I feel like I'm just typing and trying to respond to myself since you aren't giving me much of anything and I'm struggling to come up with something. Also quotations around speech would be lovely and make it easier to decipher from the rest of the post.

Bastion amused himself with the odd creature that he had captured. It would only serve to give him something to do for the time being. The small little animal didn't have a tail for him to collect so its only value was the amusement that it could provide for the time being. Still Bastion found himself entirely amused with the inner workings of animals. There was just some sort of odd thrill with watching the organs at work. Still he hadn't found out which ones could be removed that didn't result in instant death just yet.

The small male ended up looking up as he was approached. "Playing." He answered simply, glad that she moved around in front of him as he wasn't exactly comfortable with her staring over his shoulder. But seeing as she only thought to stand around and stare Bastion once more focused on what he was doing once more. The female wasn't doing anything to earn more of his attention so Bastion focused on what ended up being more interesting to him.

"Stay still!" He commanded of the lemming as it continued to struggle against his prodding. "You break if you don't." The warning was given even though it remained unheeded. The squirming ended up causing him to pull out an organ that he hadn't meant to. This just served to frustrate Bastion even more and he ended up reaching his hand in and tearing out everything then threw the body of the lemming out into the water. "Stupid." The words was accompanied by a pouty posture where Bastion folded his arms across himself and stared down at the pile of guts that he had dug out and dropped on the ground. He had warned it that it would break and that was exactly what happened.

But then just as quickly as his mood had soured he suddenly remembered the female that was lingering. "Find more." He firmly instructed the female, keeping his arms folded across his chest. He clearly expected to be listened to, leaving Bastion to wait in impatience for the female to run off and bring back something else that was interesting to play with. And if she didn't then well, Bastion would have to make up his own sort of fun and entertain himself.

Playing was an odd answer. "Shouldn't the creature be running around if you're playing with it?" Playing with something that couldn't move was no fun at all. The small wolf quickly seemed to forget her presence, focusing back on the creature in his hands. He scolded it, before ending up killing it. Terra would have thought that was what he wanted, but instead this made the small creature throw a fit. Terra burst into peals of laughter, tail wagging humorously. The creature was discarded as the creature pouted. "Awe, don't feel bad. I'm sure that there's more fun things to do."

Terra nosed into the guts in front of the wolf. Finding a kidney Terra delicately snared it into her mouth, enjoying the small treat. She was caught off guard as the tiny creature demanded more. More what? Terra had no idea what the wolf was asking for, leaving her slightly perplexed. Looking down at the guts Terra decided that the wolf had wanted more guts to eat. Discarding the creature was quite stupid then. Ears flicked back she met the wolf's eyes. "Find your own. You discarded it." Her opinion made clear Terra returned to eating what was most definitely not hers, enjoying the situation immensely. She gulped down another string of some mysterious organ, tail wagging as she provoked the male. What would he do now?

Broken glass is luxury; Friendly fires are alchemy

Bastion quickly shook his head in the negative fashion. Why would he need the critter to be running about if what he wanted was to see what was in the inside of it? No, for that he would need the animal to be still so that he could do whatever it was that he wished to end up doing. His idea of playing had always been an odd one, different from what others happened to think about when they thought of playing. Playtime for Bastion was when he was in absolute control of the situation so that he could do what he wanted to do.

And no, dead creatures weren't any fun without his puppy around to spread the blood onto. The whole purpose that he kept these small animals alive was so that he could see how the insides worked. That wasn't something that could be found out once the creature had died. After all, if the lemming had cooperated then Bastion would have crudely stitched it back up and allow it to continue on its way again to live however much longer it would live.

Bastion went from pouting to growling as the female first mocked him and then thought to help herself to what was left of his toy. While her face was in the pile of guts Bastion aimed to bring a clawed hand down across her face, seeking to add some sort of injury to her for thinking that she could just take something that belonged to him. Now more than ever he would demand for her to make it up to him. He blamed her for the toys death as well as having stolen the innards of the critter.

The stupidity of the female was easily apparent as she allowed herself to be near his grasp and seemed to be more focused on eating then on him. Such was fine though, Bastion thrived on being underestimated. He stood, having the height advantage for once as the female was in her lupus form while he stuck to optime. With a quick movement he reached out to grab the female's throat while she was preoccupied with feasting on something that wasn't hers. He intended on forcing her away from what belonged to him and intended upon demanding her to make it up to him.

Just as expected, the flowery male lost his temper. She was gulping down the last bit when his hand struck, claws going across her muzzle. It was thin, just a bit of blood showing, but it still stung as the wind hit it. Terra pulled back for the next blow, tail wagging happily. This was the kind of game she lived for, lives on the line. They were probably equally matched in strength, Terra being wiry from her travel and the strange wolf being small for his size. Terra wasn't going to give him a chance to prove it though. As his hand reached for her throat she snapped her jaw at him, enough force in there to shatter bone. She danced away now, waiting for the next move.

Out of reach of his grasp, Terra grinned mockingly. Poor little wolfie. Have you lost your toy? Well, that's too bad. You should take better care of things like that. Deliberately she bowed down, challenging him to come after her. It was so easy, getting people to lose their temper. This one seemed to be particularly spoiled, making demands from someone he had just met. That would make manipulating him into playing with her so much easier than if he had a cool head. It was the same reason why she went after Inferni: she knew how to push their buttons. Well, she really knew how to push most people's buttons. It was just a matter of intensity. To make the challenge even more serious Terra straightened, taking on a dominance stance that demanded submission from the other. Whether she took such things seriously or not didn't matter as long as it triggered his instincts. Being a full blooded wolf did that to a person.
