Wandering through the southern edges of the nearby cliffs, Gwen kept her gray eyes on the terrain ahead. With the sun high above, showing it to be near noon, her thoughts wandered to what she was actually doing there. She had spent a long time scouring the areas, months since the day she was separated from her mother. She had not yet touched the areas surrounding the Halcyon Mountain. So far, she had found no sign of her. Making sure to steer clear of the marked pack lands, Gwen continued to search in hopes that she might find something. Part of her wanted to just let it go, since nothing so far had come up.

Darting through the various trails, her paws running over the topsoil lightly as she moved quickly beneath the trees, Gwen would spend about an hour moving around the area for signs of any arctic wolves that may have been passing through. It seemed that there were none that had passed through, either, leaving only her own tracks behind as the slightest bit of proof she had even been here. Sighing and laying down at the base of one of the nearby trees, Gwen stared out at the picturesque landscape, watching behind cold gray eyes as she rested for a moment. Maybe she might happen along someone that might know something. She'd refused to speak to anyone thus far regarding her mother's capture, but maybe it was an unwise move to remain so silent.

Or maybe she had merely gone crazy. Driven mad by her existence of solitude.

Her life in Ichika no Ho-en was officially over…she was once again a wanderer, though wasn’t looking for a home or acceptance this time. Travels now would stay within this territory, as she had some friends she could turn to for help if it was needed. Elsewhere there was no one to lean on and everyone seemed to want to hurt her. This was her home now and she knew the territory well enough to get around without really getting lost. The path she wanted to take was a southern one, as she had stayed in the more northern parts for a good while now. Getting away would be good for her health. While there were some good memories associated with the pack, there were also some bad ones that she needed to get away from.

After the encounter with a busted up Wretch, leaving the borders of Ichika was even more of a relief than she’d thought it would be. Walking through the forest in Optime form, the only way to carry her packs and pull the make-shift sled that held more, was starting to become tiring. Tawny wasn’t used to being on two legs and doing it for so long was getting to be monotonous and boring. Also, she was very wary of meeting any strangers in the forest. Males would send her screaming at this point, and most females she’d ever met were aggressive and not very friendly towards her.

The scars, both thick and thin, covering her body would raise questions with answers that she didn’t even want to think about, much less speak of. Panting heavily, she tugged on the sled-type contraption, bogged down with a few skin made bags. Her body was slowing down once again; exhaustion making her shoulders fall and eyes droop a little bit. It had only been a few hours before that she’d woken up! How could she be so tired already? Growling in frustration, the young woman dropped the handle and tossed the bags on her shoulders to the ground. Her back thumped against the nearest tree and she sank down as well, eyes closing to catch a few minutes of rest.

As Gwen continued to scour through the woods, going around the various paths with a bit of frustration, she began to grow more disheartened than usual. Running around as the wolf she was born as, she kept her nose low and tried to catch the scent of any female that had been passing through the area. Someone, anyone. Someone that might know something about the area that might be able to give her some answers to some things. Mostly, though, where her mother was. Sighing, she slumped down on the top of a dead log and looked around. When her gray eyes caught sight of something moving in the distance, dragging a sled behind it, she began to have her interest peaked. Who was this... person?

Gwen was quick to move near, but stay out of sight. She had grown weary of trusting people too soon by getting too close to them before knowing her targets. When she caught sight of the female shifter, walking around on two legs and dragging the sled behind her, Gwen gave a small smile. How... quaint. She was clinging to that form even in the wild. She could scare her. Potentially attack and take advantage of the situation, but that was not in Gwen's nature. Not to steal, that was, nor to rape. No, she had a certain spot of affection towards the female gender. Something about how they moved, how they seemed to carry themselves.

Funnily enough, it was shifters that mostly caught her attention. It was hard to describe way, but it seemed to add more desire to that strange, yet good, feeling in her gut. Deciding that she was not a threat, as she had no one tailing her, nor any malicious intent, Gwen was quick to jump down and stay a good ten feet away, sitting on her hind quarters and her tongue lolling out at the female before her. "Well, hello there." Gwen said, grinning at her and pulling her tongue back as she slowly approached, moving slow to show that she had no desire to cause harm as she took a seat beside her, closing the ten foot distance and making it a mere foot of distance. "You need some help dragging that around?" She asked, turning her head to the side in questioning.

The rest that she was originally going to take was interrupted by the sound of paws hitting the ground and a rather soft voice filling the air. Tawny’s blue eyes snapped open and she sat up straighter, glancing around the forest before zeroing in on the wolf that had made the disturbance. She was mostly white with sprinkles of gray here and there, a rather large wolf, for a female at least. The scars caught her attention, making her think of all of the horrible things that could have happened to this woman to obtain such things. Thinking about her own…yes, there were some truly disturbed individuals out there that had no problem causing other creatures pain without remorse.

The eyes were the most interesting part of the white woman, who Tawny could tell was a shifter as well. The black ringing her eyelids and then blending into gray and finally white was fascinating and strangely beautiful. The brief thought of painting the white fur in different colors crossed her mind before she snapped out of the trance she’d been caught in. Shaking her head a bit, the girl cleared her mind and took a deep breath. She didn’t want to speak, to reveal her speech impediment, but there was no choice when the other female started talking first.

”Um…hi.” What an eloquent and just plain smart answer. Tawny almost wanted to smack herself in the head for giving such an idiotic response. Her body shifted nervously as the white wolf drew closer and sat down with only a foot or so separating them from touching; this was not something that the darker colored girl was good at. Introductions and meeting anyone new was always an awkward and almost painful affair for her, simply because of her shyness and inability to communicate like a normal canine. Looking over at the bags, she shrugged and sighed. Accepting help from others wasn’t her strong suit either. ”I’ll b-be okay I th…think.”

Gwen couldn't help but grin as she heard the edge of what sounded like a speech impediment. How freakin' cute! She hoped it was a speech impediment, at least, and not some kind of shyness. That wouldn't do, not at all! Gwen was not going to hurt this girl, and she was not in the realm of ever doing that to another wolf... that didn't deserve it. The girl had a lot of scars of her own, making Gwen feel rather bad for her. When she looked from left to right, between the bags and the general size of the girl, Gwen shook her head. "Nope. I insist. We seem to be going the same way anyways, so we might as well travel together." Gwen said, at least for the moment they should.

Raising a paw, Gwen smiled and attempted a handshake from her lupus form, seeming to fail at the gesture, but not wanting to spend the several minutes changing forms to do a proper introduction. "My name is Gwen. I was... actually looking for someone. An arctic wolf. You haven't seen any have you?" Gwen asked, sizing her up to see if she had any kind of tells that might come about from telling alie. She had met a few females in her time that were good at lying, and lying for no damned reason. Sometimes, it was for good reason, but there was never a good time to lie in Gwen's eyes.

Gwen dropped her paw to the ground, scooting back a bit and attempting a friendly smile at the girl. "Also, what is your name?" Gwen asked, curious to know. There were a few other questions that were going through her mind, but these were not things you asked so... forthright. Maybe a bit later, she might very well propose a few questions that would lead to something else, but for the moment, they were in the middle of untamed territory. No telling what creatures could come out and get her from any direction. Or this poor girl, her size very small and leaving her a big target for any male, or female, to just... take advantage of.

The white female seemed adamant about helping with the bags wince they were going to be traveling in the same direction. Tawny didn’t really see a problem with it. If the woman wanted to be paid for her labor, the brown girl could easily craft her some jewelry or weapons with the supplies carried in the bags she was struggling with. Shrugging, the girl stood and stretched, groaning softly when a few of her joined cracked and muscles pulled satisfactorily.

Going over to one of the larger bags, the pulled the leather strip that was holding it closed away and reached in. Her hand gripped a skin and she pulled, taking out a piece of ‘fabric’. It was the color of leaves and wood on one side and had deer skins sewn into the other. Pulling the things over her shoulders, she cinched it around her neck and arms, creating a cloak that would keep her body heat trapped inside.

Her body weight had dropped just a tiny bit in the days that she’d been wandering around Ichika, in shock from leaving Anathema and those who had cared for her after the attacks. She’d not eaten a real meal in days, just the simple and not very filling strips of meat she had stored in a few of the bags. While they were high in certain types of protein, there was virtually no fat in them and that is what she needed. Taking down some game soon was high on her list of things to do…not that she paid attention to the list, but it was there in her mind.

”Y-you are the only w-white wolf I have se-een in a while…” Her shoulders lifted and fell in a small shrug, there was nothing she could do to help in that department. Matteo was white…but he wasn’t all wolf. But wait…what if he was talking about Gemma? That one was white…and so, so beautiful, but she was so mean! ”G-Gemma is w-white…but sh-she is mean…and has a b-b-baby…” Tawny sighed and took our some of the meat she had stored in the same back, holding a handful out to Gwen without really thinking about it. ”I’m Tawny.”

Gwen was glad to see that she was no longer pushing against the help that Gwen was offering. It was nice to have someone around on occasion. It gave her some ties back to reality that she was not truly alone in this wild place at times. Though the area was not as wild as some of the places she had been, it had its own little unique problems. Watching her as she would move to one of the packs and pull it over herself, seeming to don it like a cloak, Gwen sat back on her haunches and began to change to her Optime form. It would be several minutes, but by the time she had changed, Tawny was now talking to her, offering her a piece of meat. Gwen was tempted to take it, but if she ate anything, she'd have to eat a full meal. It was a bad trick of her stomach, making her think she was starving when she was used to being on an empty stomach on occasion.

When she was fully standing on her hind legs, Gwen noticed the very different traits to the two. Gwen was a massive creature in comparison, leaving Tawny being much smaller and more dainty be appearance. Taking the meat, out of kindness, she brought the piece to her lips and mulled the things she spoke of over in her head. "Hmm... No, that wouldn't be her." Gwen said, finishing the piece easily without much issue. Her stomach was thankful for the small snack, but it would be growling for something more later, she knew that for certain.

Gwen smiled at her, looking at her with the same charcoal shrouded gray eyes with her greyish mane combed down to slightly shadow her eyes. "You look kinda cute with that cloak on. Looks warm, too." Gwen said, stepping forward towards the sled and looking at it. "It might be easier if I pulled it in another form... But I haven't walked on two legs in so long. I might just try it this way. Why do you have all of this stuff anyways?" Gwen asked, poking the bags with one of her paws and trying to gauge what was inside of each. Nothing seemed obvious, so she could have either been about to drag weeds, animals, or trinkets. There was no telling.

Tawny smiled when Gwen took the food with her larger hand and started eating. Watching other Luperci shift forms was sometimes considered an offense, but the white woman didn’t seem to mind at all. So many thought that it was a greatly private thing these days, that they had to hide themselves as they shifted. Tawny never saw the point of hiding. It only meant that there wasn’t enough trust in the relationship. However, in a situation like this, there was almost no trust established and yet neither of them cared. Just one more thing they didn’t need to go through in the process of a building friendship.

The smaller girl took a few moments to look over the other, taking in her larger body and cleaner appearance. Perhaps it was just the white fur, though slightly dirty that made her look so much tidier. Oh, and those smoky, kohl lined eyes were absolutely stunning, creating an effect that Tawny couldn’t even explain in her own mind. It seemed as if Gwen’s dark grey eyes were standing out brightly against the black, as if her entire body wasn’t predominately white as well. Simply put, Gwen D’Lynn was a gorgeous creature, and Tawny was awestruck.

Shaking her head a little bit, she gobbled up her own piece of meat and turned to look at the bags. S-stuff. Nothing really important, nothing that she couldn’t find again somewhere else. Bones, c-cloth, knives and things… Her stomach growled again, so she reached back into the bag and took out another larger handful of meat. The larger pieces were held out for Gwen to take, and a smaller piece was stuffed into her mouth. The bigger woman would require more food and more energy. Tawny knew for a fact that she could survive off of very little food, and it would be fine until she could go hunting and get something more substantial.

Gwen could feel the eyes of her smaller friend on her body as they wandered over her form. Likely, the color of her fur was off putting for the area. She was likely used to people of various other colors, not something as plain and ordinary as the color white. It was something that worked for an arctic region, but this was not particularly the time where her coat would be useful in the means of camouflage. It also could be that she had the various scars on her body that were slightly disturbing to examine up close.

Whatever the case, Gwen figured it was something that she could either get used to in her presence, or would likely always be awkward about. And, there it was again! That cute stutter! Gwen had heard so few speech impediments in her life, so hearing one was a delight. Not that it was something to rejoice about, skies above no. It was just a cute thing to hear on Tawny, as it seemed to match the personality that she had conveyed to her thus far. A very cute, attractive little quirk that Gwen just couldn't get enough of. That wasn't creepy at all, right?

When the second piece of meat was offered to her, she grudgingly accepted it. Something about being fed the food that Tawny had been holding for a while didn't seem right to her. It seemed like she was using up her supply. She would gladly help her replenish it, never one to freeload off of anyone. It was just a matter of finding the game of choice and hunting it for the precious meat. "You really keep all of that stuff with you? Do you use it for stuff, like... making things?" Gwen asked, genuinely curious as she finished the larger piece in a few bites, giving her paw a bit of a lick as she turned her gray eyes to look at Tawny.
