RP Example 1
It was the scent of blood that drew her from her bed. Amy didn't know what it was, at first thinking it might have been breakfast. It was still dark out though. Not yet old enough to shift she padded through the halls, following the scent. It was from her sister's room. Pushing it open she stared in shock. Her beautiful brunette sister laid there, her throat torn out. Over her stood Amy's brother, grinning madly. Blood ran down his face, his eyes empty. Amy screamed.

What happened next was almost a blur. Her brother leaping towards her, shouting as her parents came, her helpless sobbing as they dragged her away. She clung to her mother, whimpering in fear. How could this have happened? They were family! The bad people outside deserved to be hurt, not them. Wordlessly she was passed to a nearby servant, taken to her room. The image remained though, carved into her mind as she desperately struggled to sleep.

RP Example 2
Some fool had tried to skip on his payment. That was not a smart move. Her servants had offered to deal with it, but she waved them away. She wasn't helpless. Amy couldn't lead this life if she was weak. For not the first time she found herself imagining what life would be like away from the clutter of the bowing and scraping, carving her path by her own force. True, she'd built herself up, but she missed those days when she did things herself. Someone skipping payment was the perfect opportunity for her to take out her restlessness.

Almost dreamily the soft eyed girl stepped over to the canine they'd tracked down. His fur was patchy from stress, a complete disaster. Amy's lips curled back in distaste. You didn't pay this week. The beast whimpered, crying for mercy. It's alright. Everything will be just fine. We'll work it out. At her words the canine looked up, a gleam of hope in her eyes. That was the moment she lived for, when she was able to completely break them. Grinning viciously she looked him in the eyes. Or not. Drawing back her blade Amy slashed through the male's eyes. He cried out helplessly as she took her time, drawing out his pain. Satisfied with her work she stepped back. He was alive, but blind and missing some parts. He looked even more pathetic than before. Amy glanced down with a sigh. Can someone get me some clean clothes? Blood spatters are so hard to wash out.

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
