Word Count → 262 :: lol I don't mind powerplay in instances like this anyway.

Blind fell backwards, and Vesper grinned evilly, continuing to tickle her ruthlessly as she squirmed and giggled. Her laughter was as cute as the rest of her, but she did let up occasionally to let the poor girl breathe. She didn’t want for both of them to have survived this long and told each other this much to off her now. However, during one of these small breaks, the wolf turned and pushed against Vesper with her shoulder; their positions became reversed in a matter of seconds. The tingling, tickling sensations from the other’s fingertips made the hardened fighter laugh, brandishing her teeth in a playful but hiccupping growl as if to scare the girl away.

Blind paused, and Vesper let her head fall back into the grass, her grin unfading. As long as it took her to admire the view, however, the she-wolf leaned down to nip her nose, which the tawny coywolf squeaked at in protest, and scrambled away.

“Don’t go running into bears!” the hybrid called after her. Her heart fluttered fearfully at the thought, but she knew she would be better equipped to deal with any beasts now than she had been. She still kept Blind carefully in her sights as she chased after her, keeping balance with effort. After a while she made herself catch up, arms snaking out to grab the girl and drag her backwards. She knew that, if she succeeded, the motion would probably knock her off balance and cause both of them to tumble into the grass downhill, but she really didn’t care.

Oh good Smile I try not to do it often haha.

Blind felt a fleeting moment of pride as she seemed to succeed in her attempt at escape. Pushing her slim legs to keep their balance while still moving fast was a task in and of itself - she wobbled here and there, but soon enough was doing fine. Then, in one swift movement that turned into a series of short events, the dark female felt a set of arms wrap around her waist and pull her back. That was the end of their chase as she felt herself tumble to the ground and then separate from the coywolf as she plummeted down the hill with a laugh and a squeal.

Her surroundings passed by in a swirling blur of color as she neared the place where she had spotted her hybrid friend before all of this happened. Blind's concern for her own well being didn't seem to register as she tumbled, for all she could think about was what her next move would be when she and the coywolf finally landed at the base of the hill. It seemed, however, that her arrival would be quicker than she thought.

Coming to a skidding halt in the frosty grass, Blind's chin slid against the ground; her arms trailing behind her, knees bent, and her butt pointed straight in the air. Once she came to a complete stop, her long and fluffy tail fell forward and plopped down on her mess of hair, obstructing her vision even more. A small giggle leaked from her lips as she froze - she knew she probably looked ridiculous the way she was positioned - wondering if Vesper had suffered the same fate and was now tumbling down the hill behind her. Trying to glance around, she finally blew her hair out of her eyes and straightened her tail to aid in locating the tawny female.

every memory that I hold

Word Count → 240 :: Yeaahhh I'm going to be pretty slow for a while. I have like three papers to write due tomorrow.

Vesper had expected a soft landing and a nice, easy tumble for a few feet before they stopped and she could hear Blind giggle again. However, she must have pulled too hard or otherwise completely killed her balance, because both canines started rolling when they crashed to the earth. The dark she-wolf slipped from her arms, and she was yelping too loud to hear the other’s cries of delight. Her claws reached out for something to grab to stop her, surprised at how steep this goddamn hill was and how out of control she was.

Her paw shot out and her fingers wrapped tightly around a shrub sitting nicely in her way, and she nearly felt her arms twist off with the speed she was still rolling. She clung harder, yipped in pain as thorns dug into her, and tried to get her bearings now that she was stopped. Slowly she pulled herself to her feet and blinked.

The sight of Blind, having skidded forward in a cartoonish parody, made Vesper abandon any panicking thoughts of how crazy the tumble had been. She burst out laughing, clearly giving away her location as she padded carefully down the hill toward her. She reached out to grab the girl’s tail and give it a playful tug to help her stand.

“You look ridiculous,” Vesper snickered, twigs in her cropped mane and grass and frost scattered all over the rest of her body.

Haha oh school, how I miss it. No worries dear, I know how that goes.

A light tug on her tail simultaneously tugged a squeak from her dark throat as she lowered her behind and sat up, brushing the dirt and debris from her fur. Her face contorted at the coywolf's teasing insult, but when she turned to retort, she let out a howling laugh herself. You don't look much better princess! she teased, standing up and moving to Vesper's side. Reaching out a careful hand, she began to remove the thorns and twigs from her mane and fur, lingering a bit about her body unintentionally. You were a mess dear! she added with another giggle.

Once the coywolf was clean, Blind smoothed her fur a bit here and there before giving her a spank on her tiny bottom and taking off toward the trees with a giggle. This game wasn't over yet!

Dodging tree trunks and ducking under low branches, the dark luperci maneuvered through the forest with an easy grace, one that seemed so contrary to her mother's warnings: It'll take a while to get used to, she remembered her say. But why, then, was this so easy for her?

She almost felt as if her feet lifted off the ground as she moved, more-so flying than sprinting. The wind pushed her mess of a mane from her face, and for a moment she glanced back to see if Vesper was coming. Slowing her pace a bit while panting wildly, she kept a wary eye out for the young hybrid.

were all just scars in the making

Word Count → 321 :: So much to do, so little time. I want it to be winter break now. D: Oh and present!

Blind laughed again, once her mismatched eyes found the tawny woman’s ruffled body. Vesper scowled at being called a princess, but the playful expression did not last long when the warmth of the other’s close hovering reached her. She had to quash the urge to just grab the girl as her dark fingers plucked debris from her cropped mane, grab her and then she didn’t even know what the hell she’d do once Blind was in her arms again.

The few choice images hovering around in her head were banished with a swat to her lack of ass. Blue eyes grew wide and Vesper stared blankly after the dark auburn wolf as she ran off again, jaw hanging. Did she just— Oh, it didn’t even matter. She was going to pay.

The tawny coywolf sprinted after her giggling target, slipping up on some leaves and nearly braining herself on a low bough. She weaved through the foliage and could feel a thrill rushing through her. Heart beating ba-dump badumpbadump, she let up a howl for the hell of it. The dizzying affect her friend was having on her combined with the wild balance corrections was making her euphoric, and she almost forgot why she was running.

Once she did, though, she skidded to a halt then quietly rushed around in a small arc. While she wasn’t as quiet and graceful as in her birth form, she managed to be stealthy as she spied her prey slowing down. Her light tawny fur blending in with the trees, she crept around toward one trunk and paused there until Blind happened to pass by.

At which point Vesper sprang out with a growl, not sure if she’d be able to grab her and jerk her into a bear hug or if she’d miss and fall flat on her face. At least the fallen leaves courtesy of last autumn looked like a comfy enough landing.

I don't blame you dear. I hope everything's going well.

The dark-pelted luperci's gait slowed to almost a stroll as she waited for her friend to come barreling toward her from behind. She gave her tail an anxious flick before turning around completely and placing her hands on her hips. Where could she be? she muttered, her tone rather worried now. Surely she was safe?

A sudden rustle in the distance caused Blind to turn her head, her brow furrowing in suspicion. Her heart thudded a bit, clearly pumping panic through her veins, as she backed up a little, fully expecting a bear to emerge from the maze of foliage before her. A soft growl rose from the darkness - it would be an understatement to say she was terrified at this point. Running seemed almost out of the question as well, as her legs appeared to be made of gelatin.

Tucking her tail instinctively, an almost inaudible whimper shook in Blind's throat. Then, nearly giving her a heart-attack, Vesper sprang from the bushes toward her, and in a single moment of reflex Blind slipped out of the way. A sly grin spread across her face, her anxiety completely melting, as she watched her friend land with a soft 'thump' on the ground. You're gonna' have to be a lot faster than that if you wanna' catch me! she squealed, giggling and taking off again. She didn't get far, however, because a terribly-placed rock obstructed Blind's path and sent her flailing toward the ground into an immediate face plant. Lifting her head with a groan, she shook the frost and leaves from her mane, wiped the dirt from her muzzle, and looked around in a daze. Blasted karma.

Word Count → 180 :: After this weekend everything'll be going great! xD

Her epic leap did not go as planned, and Vesper crashed to the ground. She clenched her teeth as her jaw rattled from the impact, and quickly she grabbed her sore chin as she saw that the girl had managed to elude her grasp. Pride for Blind’s reflexes shone in her eyes before the trim dark wolf giggled, teasing her before zipping off.

The tawny coywolf groaned as she pushed herself to her feet, prepared to go into another crazy sprint to catch the crazy woman. Watching the other’s disappearing shape, she dusted herself off and rubbed her chin again before she saw Blind fall. Her heart leaped into her throat, and she ran toward her before slowing to a jog when she saw the girl look up.

Vesper grinned wickedly, taking advantage of the other’s prostate position to lope toward her. Once she was close, she fell on top of the other woman—controlling her speed and weight so she wouldn’t hurt her—then growled. “Slow and steady, baby,” she said, playfully biting the other’s scruff and shaking it.

Yay! ^^

It was a futile effort, getting up - the coywolf was already on top of her. Her warm breath tickled Blind's ears as it whispered by, and the prickle of the hybrid's teeth clamped on the scruff of her neck sent a shiver down the dark she-wolf's spine. The disappointing feel of defeat was a fleeting one, for then Blind felt nothing but heat flood through her veins as she realized it seemed as though she was closer to her friend than ever before. The thought of rolling over crossed her mind, and then faded quickly. The urge to wrap her tail around Vesper's emerged, and then hid again. The need to say the scarred female's name or any word that might connect the two of them surfaced, and then buried itself in her lungs. So Blind laid there, letting herself concentrate on the mere feel of Vesper's new body against her back...that strange warm feeling was returning.

Her eyes glazing over with warmth, Blind peered over her shoulder at the hybrid, her tail swaying peacefully at her ankles. A small grin lifted the corners of her mouth, and for a moment she felt herself fighting back the urge to stretch her head up and lick that mangled ear again. Blind peered into those icy blue eyes for what felt like hours before shaking herself free of her daze. Her heart continued to pound with the desire to play, and, without warning, her hand snaked its way back to drag a claw down the inside of the coywolf's forearm. The young she-wolf's ears swiveled back in mock-maliciousness before letting her hand retreat to her side again, and she felt her tail pick up its excited pace once more. How was it, she thought, that this creature knew exactly how to coax a side of her out that she never knew even existed?

Word Count → 395 :: I loved your post! Mine sucks though xD trying to post something quickly before another exam.

She had expected her friend to roll over and knock her away, or otherwise retaliate against the playful bites she was bestowing on her scruff. However, the “attack” she knew in the back of her mind would be somewhat awkward soon became awkward, and while she was content with the warmth of the other woman underneath her, Vesper hadn’t quite envisioned this. Slowly, she ceased her assault and wondered if offering the nape of the girl’s neck a soothing lick would remedy this situation or only inflame it more.

Coyote-large ears tilting back against her head, the tawny hybrid could feel a sudden burst of anxiety in her stomach until those mismatched, gorgeous eyes found hers. Blind smiled, and without even knowing it, Vesper smiled as well. There were a few urges of her own that she buried deeply, withdrawn because of that bundle of nerves in her belly. As many signs as her friend had offered, she wasn’t sure where exactly she stood—or where Blind stood, for that matter. This was a companion who she’d played with and fought for and lost and found again, and her heart was offering a number of feelings batted aside by the cold logic in her head.

Then again, if she couldn’t reason any of this, Vesper would just have to go with what she wanted for the moment. A younger version of herself would have worried about the future—but only the present really mattered.

The claw running across her arm made her fur stand on end, and a tail flapped around underneath her. Smirking, the tawny woman shifted her weight so that she was no longer on top of the other female—though still very close, her almost nonexistent curves resting along the wolf’s slightly more ample ones.

“I love this,” Vesper murmured, as it was the only thing she could think of even saying. She gestured vaguely to everything—the woods, the frosty grass, the both of them without a care in the world. She reached with an arm to scratch the other’s shoulders affectionately before letting her hand settle on the small of her dark back. The thought of play began to creep away from her mind, though she wouldn’t say no. Right now she was simply content to lie there, feeling like a spring day amongst the frost and the bare trees.

Haha aw ^^ How are the tests going?

Concern clouded Blind's thoughts as she watched her friend retreat. The tongue on her nape felt good, but she thought it might sound eager if she asked her not to stop, and now Vesper seemed rather off-put, and that made the dark woman's stomach tumble uneasily. She wanted to ask the hybrid what she was thinking, but her own thoughts were soon side-tracked at the sound of the coywolf's voice paired with the utterly wonderful feel of her claws on her dark shoulders. Like a dog receiving a belly rub, Blind's leg began to kick with pleasure. But then, all too soon, the amazing feeling ended when the coywolf's hand retreated to her lower back, and her attention seemed to shift to her surroundings. Without even thinking, Blind let out a soft whimper and pressed herself tightly against the slender hybrid, nudging Vesper's chin with her snout. Her tail flapped briefly before resting over her calves, and looked up at her friend with puppy-dog eyes. Then, realizing what she was doing, her ears flattened shyly as she giggled a little. She felt truly pathetic.

Vesper seemed happy now, which made Blind feel a little better. But, trying to lighten the mood further, she felt the need to bury her face in the coywolf's chest and make puppy-like noises as she wagged her tail enthusiastically. She then peeked above her shield of flesh and soft fur, batting her eyelashes goofily as she grinned. I love this too, she said softly, her tail slowing to a happy sway. Then, realizing just how much she loved this moment, she sat up, her tail wagging full-force again, and blurted, Let's run away! Just me and you, together! We'll run away, have all the fun we want, and never come back! Whaddya' say?

Blind's goofy smile suddenly faded as she realized, yet again, how ridiculous she was being. The heat flooded to her cheeks and ears, and she grabbed her left bicep in a sheepish huddle. A tiny grin forced its way back on her lips then, as she squeaked, Please?

Word Count → 376 :: Only two essays and one exam left. :3

As if they were both formless wolves still, Blind whimpered wordlessly and nestled against her, muzzle buried under her chin. The older girl smirked faintly and only reached up to touch one of her ears, just for something to touch. Much of the hybrid’s enthusiasm had faded from her eyes, however, and while she was not upset, she was more withdrawn—contemplating the surroundings, contemplating her emotions, contemplating the pair of them. She was at peace, but as much as she wanted to lay here and succumb to it, to everything, logic waited patiently at the backdoor to her thoughts.

With more quiet sounds, the dark she-wolf buried herself against Vesper’s pale, dark-splotched chest. She looked down at the girl, unsurprised, and was about to tease her when Blind blurted out a suggestion that made her jaw drop and her stomach to tie itself in knots again.

“Blind…” Vesper straightened up then looked at her, ears lowering, and her eyes finally turned away. She let out the softest of sighs and steeled herself to meet the lovely girl’s heterochromatic gaze again. “Blind, I have responsibilities. I have Inferni. I would have agreed in a heartbeat months ago, but…” She looked at herself, at her hands, which clenched into loose fists. “Everything changed. But that doesn’t mean I care about you any less, Blind, and I want to spend all the time with you I can.” Why did everything coming out of her mouth sound so lame, so false? She felt like she’d been stringing the poor girl along, and yet she was dangling from a rope herself. She had gone through so many changes lately, and she wasn’t ready for her life to be jarred once again.

“Listen…” She reached out to touch the girl’s cheek, just in case she had turned away during her faltering speech. “Maybe someday, okay? It’s just… I don’t know what I’m running away from yet.”

And that was true. She didn’t want to do anything that she regretted…didn’t want to throw away one future for another. But she didn’t want this to mean throwing away Blind, either, when everything had just started sparking, when she’d started to come to terms with her affection for the girl she’d already lost once.

Hooray! The end is near! Haha I feel like we're writing a teen romance together Tongue That's it! We'll do a joint publication! Haha

Blind didn't expect the coywolf's words to effect her the way they did. She knew the answer would probably be 'no,' and she was kidding a little herself anyway. But, despite Vesper's promise to stay with her as long as she could, her response felt like what she was actually saying was "Get away from me you freak." She was confused, yes, why she would be taking this so hard - she hadn't actually stopped to think long enough to decide whether or not she had more-than-friends feelings for this creature. Heck, she had never been attracted to ANYONE before, let alone even had a friend. This could be what it felt like to form a friendship, for all she knew. Despite how she felt, however, she knew she couldn't portray that to Vesper...not now.

Snorting in mock arrogance, Blind straightened up and flicked her tail indifferently. Silly girl, she scoffed, I was only teasing. I have my family too - I couldn't leave. Flicking her tail again, she stood up and brushed the frost from her fur, directing her focus into shifting to her lupus form once more. As her limbs shortened and her body resembled that of a wolf's again, she stretched her muscles for lack of decision on what to do or say next. Luckily, her stomach saved her with a loud growl.

Ah! she chirped, her tail swaying. It looks as though I am hungry, and I believe I owe you dinner anyway. I hope you like rabbit, because that's about all I know how to catch. Her back was turned to the coywolf, but her dark head swiveled around to grin suavely at the woman. This grin was different from her others, however, for the usual light in her eyes had faded with the warmth that had so deeply puzzled her before.

Word Count → 461 :: There is enough angst in my post for one. Tongue

Vesper hadn’t been this sick over a girl for ages. And almost as soon as the words fled from her mouth she could feel her heart clenching, her mind rushing back to a bloodied dawn. She had dropped the boy’s neck and looked across to her, pleading her to leave with her, pleading her to come over the grassy hills wet with melted March snow.

Juniper had spoken similar words—perhaps far more bluntly, perhaps in a voice creeping upwards into a scream. The grey coyote girl had huddled with the others as they stared at their leader’s body, and the lone wolf hybrid had only stepped backwards, turned, ran away, not looked over her shoulder once.

Maybe once.

As she clenched her teeth on whatever was trying to come up from her lungs, not wanting to spew words that she would later regret, Vesper looked at the dark girl who snorted and teased and shifted into her original form—four-legged and lean and lovely as ever. She didn’t know if she had been expecting something different, just because she’d been turned luperci.

The suggestion forced a smirk on the hybrid’s lips. “Sounds like a plan; I’m sure you’re a rabbit hunting champion.” She took some time to transform as well, though feeling all four paws on the ground did not comfort her as much as she thought it would have. She realized how cold she was since they were no longer closely sharing body heat—but she did not shiver or speak of it, only exhaled a cloud of pale vapor and went on playfully, “I’ll teach you how to catch something larger next time.”

And with every intention of running past her, bumping her lightly with a hip, Vesper stepped forward. She hoped that a chase would bring her back to her carefree mentality, and she edged toward that goal—at least until she was standing beside the she-wolf at last. Her resolve shattered, then, and she knew she didn’t want to take another step.

“I’m sorry,” Vesper breathed. “I can claim to be different, I can claim all I want about myself, but I’m selfish. You deserve much better than me.” The words she almost wanted Juniper to say, ages ago when Ves had only been a silly, stupid girl—and yet the opposite of what she had told Juniper, once. Then ridiculously, picking out the most trivial of things in a tone that was decidedly not, she said, “You don’t have to catch a rabbit for me.” She sounded like a worthless child again, and almost hung her head like one. But this admission was to herself as much as it was to Blind—how selfish she was, how hypocritical.

Since when had life become so complicated?

Hahaha! "Angst...angst...angst..."

With a heavy exhale, Blind managed to push most of the disappointment from her body. Growing up, her mother had frequently told her that life was full of disappointment, and there was nothing you could do about it. Most of the time, it resulted from negotiations on partnership too, and creatures were meant to be alone and not paired off. With an almost obvious understanding nod, Blind trotted forward, prepared to forget about the ordeal and carry on as they had been.

The young wolfess smiled at Vesper's compliment, although she could sense something was still amiss in the coywolf's demeanor. But she portrayed happiness all the same, nodding in agreement to her friend's offer of a hunting lesson. As her mind dared to think about how that lesson might go, she found herself thinking back on the time Vesper taught her how to fight as well. Her expression softened to that of genuine happiness, and her tail swayed a bit as she replayed the moment over in her head. This was interrupted, however, when a very apologetic coywolf stopped just short of Blind's heels and rambled pities with her eyes on the ground.

For a while, Blind didn't even know how to respond. So she just...stayed quiet. Her feet had stopped their progression by now too, and the dark she-wolf stood rigid, her gaze locked on the horizon. Then, after a moment of silence, she turned to Vesper and said softly, You don't get to decide what I deserve unless I grant you permission.

Slowly stepping toward her friend, Blind smiled softly and licked that adorable, mangled ear. For a moment she just lingered there, taking in her scent. And then a simple whispered phrase: You're perfect.

Vesper realized how stupid she sounded moments after the words had fled from her slender jaws. Blind probably didn’t even know what she was talking about, or otherwise this statement would scare her away if nothing else did. Ves herself didn’t even know why she’d said what she’d said, other than the overwhelming urge to apologize spurned on by the fear of becoming something she hated… It was an irrational fear, but staring into the mismatched eyes of the dark auburn girl, there was no room for rationality in her mind.

She almost held her breath as Blind looked off into space, and her heart pounded in her ears when she finally turned. Her quiet statement drew a smirk to the hybrid’s lips, one a bit too wobbly to convey the amusement she hoped it did. And the smirk only faded into something softer when the she-wolf padded closer to her, licking her ripped ear.

Closing her eyes, Vesper leaned her cheek against the other female’s in that moment. The whispered words made her draw back. “I’m far from perfect,” she murmured, though it wasn’t an argument so much as a fact. “There’s still a lot that you don’t know…” But now was not the time to spill all her wishes, her secrets, her fears, her sins.

With a quiet whimper, she brought her pale cheek back to the other’s dark one, nuzzling into her neck before offering the full dark ear a lick of her own. She didn’t even know what she was doing anymore—other than giving in to the simplest of her urges, the desire to be close to this girl and show her what affection she could. Though limited in her current shape, unable to give an embrace or trace the lines of the other’s body with her fingers, her expression conveyed what her body could not.

Tee hee ^^

The dark wolf rolled her eyes in exasperation at the coywolf's words, and then batted her gently on her slender snout with a thick paw. Flicking her tail teasingly, Blind then licked gently where she had swatted, and chuckled softy. Is that all you know how to do? she asked. Argue? The series of affectionate licks and nuzzles that followed her remark made her playful demeanor soften immediately. She suddenly wanted to hold Vesper again, and before she said anything else, she found herself slowly stretching back to her optime form until a pair of long, slender arms were draped around her friend's neck. Blind stroked Vesper's head, her back, even her tail as her hands sought to just come into contact with the hybrid's body.

After holding her tight for a moment, Blind leaned back and looked into those icy blue eyes that so often held her in an other-worldly trance. A clever smile spread across her dark lips as she leaned into Vesper once more, this time only intending to knock her onto her back and hover over her, not wrestle. Her tail swayed playfully as she continued to look into those chilling eyes, and, after a short yip and otherwise moment of silence, Blind said softly, There's a lot you don't know about me, too. But I'm willing to show you everything in exchange for you. Her golden eye winked then, and her tail sped to an eager wag. Then, trying to mask her affection, she nipped the coywolf on the nose again and grinned. The more time she spent with this girl, the more attached she felt to her. But Blind knew better now, and she wasn't about to put herself out there as easily as she had done before.

The playful, reprimanding tap to her muzzle made the coywolf loosen up even more. “No,” she retorted, and flashed a crooked grin, at least until that grin softened and she could feel slender arms wrapping around her. While this embrace between forms could be seen as awkward any other time, Vesper only nuzzled into her friend and wagged her tail at the gentle petting. She might have resented such contact from anyone else, but it was only a gesture of affection from a close friend, from Blind. She reciprocated the best she could by leaning into her and whimpering softly, delightedly, until the girl’s eyes settled on her.

That mischievous smile would imprint itself on the hybrid’s mind, she knew, but she allowed herself to be knocked over onto her back. It was weird to feel so small compared to the optime-formed canine, and she focused some of her energy into shifting—though it was small adjustments, a slow process, and she kept most of her attention on Blind.

The quiet statement coupled with the wink invoked more damned butterflies in the woman’s stomach, though she only grinned in return, swiping her tongue over her poor tortured nose. By now, she was able to finish her transformation, and rather than grab or tickle Blind and flip her over, she let her hands drift up lazily to tangle in her auburn hair.

“There will never be secrets between us,” Vesper said, and while the statement might have been a laughably cliché one, her sky blue eyes were solemn. She was making a promise in that moment to Blind, one she hoped would be returned though she would never press the girl for anything. She wanted to be connected with her through more than just this vague but welcome warmth rushing throughout her scarred, lean body. She could use the relief of having someone who would never judge her for who she was and what she had done. It might have been too much to ask for, but she would take her chances.

As the coywolf shifted beneath her, Blind had to keep her carnal instincts under control after allowing her eyes to wander along the female's slender frame. Her tail wagged even harder, and she had to quickly pinch it between her thighs to keep from making a fool of herself. But, when those delicate fingers entangled themselves in her mane, she felt herself relax and release her tail.

Another feeling, however, caused her to nearly choke as she forced it back down into a dark corner somewhere in the bottom of her heart. The warmth from before was eeking its way back into her body, and she knew she had to do everything she could to keep it confined. It didn't help, however, when the coywolf then spoke the words she had been waiting for her entire life. No secrets? Her entire life had been filled with secrets. Secrets kept the majority of her family hidden from her, and secrets would forever keep the she-wolf's past in the dark. As she looked at this woman, her rough exterior suddenly softened by her honesty, Blind felt the warmth not only escape from the confines of her heart, but also spill over to drench ever fiber of her being.

Blind's jaw snapped shut then - she was unaware that she had even gawked at Vesper when she spoke. And then, filled with a new kind of happiness, a small smile replaced Blind's shocked expression as she whispered, No secrets. Ever. No matter what. She knew at that moment that she may have been promising a lot, but she didn't care. The feeling of knowing the rest of her life would make up for the confusion that had become so familiar throughout her childhood was enough to make Blind promise her entire existence to her hybrid friend. No, there was nothing that she wouldn't let Vesper have from her, and nothing that Blind wouldn't be willing to accept from Vesper.

Just as the fighter had been touched to know she’d helped change the dark wolf’s life for the better, the hybrid’s soft promise seemed to have struck a chord in the dark auburn girl. Blind’s jaw loosened at her words, her mismatched eyes turning attention away from the Vigiles pinned underneath her. She closed her mouth once she became aware of her expression and smiled, affirming what Vesper had said. And that would be the end of that.

“So,” the tawny coywolf said in a smooth, lazy drawl, “no secrets.” Her expression was cheeky for a moment before she propped herself up with one elbow. Not quite sitting up, it wasn’t the most comfortable of positions, but at the moment she didn’t really give a damn. One paw continued to run lightly through the girl’s long hair, fingers lightly twirling the locks before letting them fall back down, her movement slow.

“I’ll tell you one secret,” Vesper went on, and while there was still a hint of mischief about her eyes, another emotion dominated her expression—or a host of emotions, among them something very tender. Her hand paused in its exploration of Blind’s hair and paused on her cheek. She smirked then, as if amused at herself, and admitted in a low murmur, “I really want to kiss you right now.”

*facepalm* I enjoyed writing this too much.

Blind couldn't help it - her tail was wagging now. It was such a relief to know she didn't have to wonder about her life anymore; she didn't have to wonder if she was missing something. For all the years she felt so out of place, so estranged, today she finally felt...normal. That is, until Vesper disclosed something she had been keeping in.

Almost immediately, Blind's face contorted to a look of shy confusion, and her ears flattened against her head. Vesper wanted to 'kiss her?' What on earth was a 'kiss?' She assumed it probably didn't hurt, judging by the sweet smile stretched across the coywolf's muzzle. But this was a term she was clearly unfamiliar with, and, if it was anything like 'mating,' she definitely wasn't ready for that! Her tail stopped its eager sway as she thought hard - this wasn't something Rhia OR Soran had explained to her, because frankly she didn't even know it existed. Was she supposed to do something? She knew she should SAY something, but she didn't want to sound stupid.

Finally, Blind's sheepishness warming her dark cheeks, she let herself relax into Vesper's hand as she chuckled nervously. Kiss? What's that? she asked, her voice as quiet as a child's.
