Coding help! ><
#1
I'm trying to get this picture to show up in the little box for the NPC, and it's not working. :c and before that, the NPC picture box and my size chart in the appearance section won't align next to the text, no matter what I do. I copied it exactly from the profile hack thread, but I messed it up somehow LOL. I'm no good at coding, please help me? :c

I dunno if you need this, but here's what's in my profile:

This is a primary character. Please direct all Pms to this account.

I just can't stay away. I have a ton of previous characters, 'cause I've been active on-and-off for years on 'Souls, but I don't remember them all, and I doubt you do, so I'm just going to pretend they didn't happen.

Updates: I find it really difficult to update the Sie profile hack, even though I love it so darn much, so they'll be slow...It's better to check out his detailed profile for them, although I'll do them...every time I get sick of how barren it is LOL.

Credits go to Nat for my Awk icon, and Aly for my avatar! Thanks so much! <3

Prefers Optime form.

General: Though his genes consist primarily of his dog ancestors', Swentzle's build takes more after a wolf's. He is, in fact, very wolf-like, with the heavy-set shoulders and barrel chest of a canine much larger than he really is. He could be one of his cousins in miniature, were it not for his odd coloring and thick coat. His ears and tail, as well, give away his mixed heritage, as the former tends to flop, and the latter curls.

Eyes:  His eyes are white-blue, though this is hard to see, as his pupils are normally unusually dilated. This anomaly is because he is mostly blind.

Coloration: His coat, primarily a very dark brown, is actually brindled over most of his body; it consists of blonde, black, and even some reddish-brown hues, to add to his russet fur. His fur is only one solid color—this being black—on his mane, or in Optime form, his hair.

Clothing: In Optime form, Swentzle can be found wearing a loincloth and a wrap, both made of soft, pseudo leather material. The loincloth covers only his front, and the wrap is an odd thing, which wraps around one shoulder and across his chest and back, knotting at the opposite collarbone to leave the same shoulder bare.

Accessories: Occasionally, in Optime form, he will wear strands of feathers which have been tied together in his hair. These strands hang to about his chest, and though he only wears them sometimes, they appear often enough that it's worth mentioning.

Scars: Though the wounds have long since healed, there remain the small remnants of burn marks around and in his eyes. The fur there is shorter and finer than usual, and the area is tender to the touch.

Tattoos: There are a great many tattooed runes carved into his chest, and another tattoo can be found around his upper left arm. The tattoos were cut into his skin, then dyed red, so as to mark him noticeably as a member of the Shikoba tribe.

Piercings: Swentzle has no piercings to speak of.

History

· Swentzle is born in the Shikoba tribe, located in the Great Plains area of the former United States.
· At the age of two years, he and long-time friend Anzhela are mated. They tie the knot with two bracelets, made for one another by the other, and the tribe celebrates.
· Swentzle is promoted to Zvezdan, a position of power in the tribe, and takes up the duties proudly.
· Swentzle's daughter, Shevon, is born, after six months of mateship. She's a beautiful, healthy pup.
· Three months after his daughter is born, passing travelers--nearly starving and mistaking the Latin-speaking Shikobans for savages--attack the tribe for their supplies. Shevon is caught in a burning hut; in his attempt to save her, Swentzle is blinded, and Shevon is badly scarred; luckily, both survive.
· In the wake of the raid, Swentzle abandons his family and tribe, not wishing to be a burden on his mate and neighbors. He heads north, and soon settles in an area known as the Dampwoods in Nova Scotia.
· After several run-ins with locals in which he becomes acquainted with the region, Swentzle realizes that he's running low on surprise. He's pointed to a port in Maine called Freetown, and heads there.
· It takes him a week there and back, as the road is unfamiliar and he must rest often, but as he reaches the town he gets a great surprise; an old friend, Antiman, from the allied tribe Calfuray, has also come into the town to do some trading. They spend a few days together before they part, both freshly supplied. Swentzle leaves Antiman with a message for his tribe and his family, which the male promises to deliver.
· After returning to the Dampwoods, Swentzle begins to search for a pack, and finds a kindred spirit in Ichika. He is not certain, however, and takes some time to look at other territories.
· Traveling south to Halifax, Swentzle finds his healing skills put to good use on the injured Irinei, whom he finds together with a woman named Caspa trapped under some rubble.

Personality

Detailed Info

General: If one were to describe Swentzle in a word, it would most likely be solemn. One could say he is wise beyond his years, as well, and that perhaps he has a kind heart—but mostly, it would be his solemn nature that struck you first. He rarely, if ever, smiles, and humor of any kind seems to fly over his head. Everything is of the utmost gravity to him; having been thrown into an important role in the tribe at a young age, Swentzle soon learned that adults rarely had time to play, and so gave up useless pass-times completely. Though his demeanor softens around children—and they are most often the ones to see the rare grin—he is also somewhat sad around them, constantly wondering when they'll be forced to grow up.

Though these characteristics are his most prominent, should one happen to get close to him, they may also see a strong, protective side of him that was not previously apparent; though incredibly passive when confronted, should someone else happen to be in a bad situation--particularly if they're already well-known to him, or happen to be his friend--one may see an aggressive, confrontational face that was not there before. Nearly all the fights Swentzle has been in have been on the behalf of others; and the few that weren't were those orchestrated by his tribesmen to hone his skills. When Swentzle says, "I'm not a fighter," he has the track-record to prove it.

Traits: Solemn, wise, kind-hearted, protective, passive.

Speech

General Style: His words often come across as formal and stiff, though he doesn't mean them that way. Rarely will he use conjunctions, though as he becomes more relaxed, so too will his tones.

Beliefs & Ideals

Sexuality: Though he had a mate and child back in the tribe of Shikoba in the south, it also wasn't uncommon for men and women to take same-sex lovers among the tribe. Though he didn't do this himself, he doesn't see anything wrong with it, and has found himself attracted to other men before. You could call him bisexual if you wanted to.

Religion: The Shikoban religion was an odd, twisted thing, which relied mostly on each tribesman doing his or her part to satisfy the Great Spirits and bring about good fortune and health to the tribe as a whole. As the spiritual leader, Swentzle was expected to be in contact with the Great Spirits--who were, in reality, the forces of nature. His religious beliefs still lie with the Great Spirits; with the river, the wind, and the trees. And he believes that listening to what they tell you, and to the spirit of your Instincts, you can bring yourself good fortune.

Prejudices: Swentzle has yet to come across anything to be prejudicial toward; though he hasn't met everyone under the sun, and can't say that he doesn't dislike anyone, at the moment, he hasn't developed such feelings of dislike toward anyone.

General Beliefs: Swentzle has come to believe that, before you can rely on anyone else, you must learn to rely on yourself.

Lifestyle & Behavior

Residence: At the moment, as a Loner, Swentzle has taken up residence in the Dampwoods. He sleeps under the stars, with his companions, the Mountain Lion Fovea, the Barn Owl Citlali, and the Bison Hamza. His fire is always open to passersby, and he's often willing to share a meal, in the hopes that should he ever be in need, the favor will be remembered, and returned.

Favorite Haunts: He makes day trips up to Drifter Bay sometimes, and will travel farther south to Halifax, but the Dampwoods is his primary location.

Hobbies: Swentzle is a spiritual healer and a giver of advice, but also a fire master; often times you can find him performing rituals over a low-burning, smoking flame.

Habits: He burns incense almost constantly, and though there isn't anything particularly intoxicating about the scents, they often give away his position to passersby. It is, in a sense, his way of declaring his tribe and his whereabouts to others; this was a tradition where he came from, and a way to tell friend from foe.

Substances:  Aside from his incense, his rabid Chile addiction, and his occasional taste for alcohol, Swentzle doesn't use any substances.

Abilities

Skills: Swentz is quite skilled in the ways of medicine, as well as survival. He knows odd facts, such as what water sources are best to drink from, and has a vast supply of herbs that he'll hand over willingly if a healer proves more skilled than he is.

Strengths: His sense of hearing has become keener due to his lack of eyesight, as has his sense of smell. Though they're not much greater than a normal canine's, he wields them well in the lack of his other sense.

Weaknesses: On top of his partial blindness, one might say Swentzle relies too much on the kindness of others. You could call him naive, and you'd probably be right.

NPC Characters

  • These characters appear with SWENTZLE only when specified.
  • PACK members are free to reference seeing these characters around, but if you would like actual interaction with them, please send me a PM first. Thanks!
Irinei Pajari, dog  (male, 1 1/2 years)

Detailed Profile

Irinei
  • Irinei was saved by Swentzle and Caspa in Halifax, but badly injured
  • At the moment he's incapacitated, with a broken leg and a number of fractured or broken ribs.

Irinei, a Russian shepherd who often longed to see the New World, left his parents at a young age in search of adventure. He is large, often aggressive, and considers himself indebted to the blind man who saved him. Before his accident, he was only wandering, and so he feels relieved to have found a friend and a pack all in one go.

Companions

Fovea
Citlali
Hamza

  • It was the tradition in the Shikoba tribe to have a hunting companion; Fovea is Swentzle's. She's a mountain lion, though her fur is a dark, dusty brown, rather than a light tan.
  • The Medicine Man being the spiritual leader of the Shikoba tribe, he's expected to have a companion to convey the wisdom of the spirits. Citlali is his guide; unusually awake during the day, the barn owl actually speaks High Speech, though rarely seems to have anything to say.
  • Hamza is an odd site to see, being both horse and cart; he can usually be found loaded down with bags, and occasionally with his rider, Swentzle.

src="http://i.imgur.com/BV53A.png" title="Awk" alt="Awk" />

  • Despite no longer belonging to a tribe, Swentzle still practices spiritually. Whenever he sets up camp, he can often be found through the fragrant, colorful smoke wafting from the fire.
  • Swentzle carries a number of precious stones on his person, though they're nothing so valuable as diamonds or rubies; things like quartz, amethyst, and crystal regularly make an appearance in his daily life. He believes they help to keep the natural balance.
  • Swentzle is, first and foremost, a healer; as such, he carries a number of pain-killing, blood-clotting, and nerve-numbing herbs in a number of pouches that can be found anywhere on his person. Though his spiritual beliefs tie in tightly with his healing abilities, he is known to be efficient among the strangers he's met along the road.
  • Known to the Shikoba as an Awk, this device is generally a bowl, attached to a handle, which can be covered or open-faced depending on the wishes of the Medicine Man who owns it. It's purpose is to banish evil spirits during important rituals, or in times of healing. Swentzle's Awk, specifically, is close-faced, made himself out of the shell of a turtle and the old femur of a fox. The openings of the shell have been closed off with small patches of hide; within it lies a mixture of quartz and amethyst, crushed into a pebble-like mixture.

Wagon

Wagon
Supplies

  • On a short jaunt to Freetown, Swentzle gained a wagon, which can regularly be found hooked up to Hamza. Though it's not covered, there are a number of tarps that protect the supplies within from the elements.
  • In Freetown, Swentzle came across a member of an old neighboring tribe, who traded him a number of spices and herbs that he'd been running low on. These, as well as the crystals and kindling that he also obtained, are contained within bags under tarps in the wagon.

Put this where you put his picture I think I fixed it :3

Code:
<div id="QUOTE" class="floatimg iconimg" style="float:right;"><a href="http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvwy9uBAYv1r3yrd2o1_500.png" rel="lyteframe" rev="width: 600px; height: 300px; scrolling: yes;"><img src="http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvwy9uBAYv1r3yrd2o1_500.png" title="Irinei" alt="Irinei" rev="width: 150px; height: 200px" ></a></div>
#3
It's still large and centered... :c idk what I'm doing wrong!

Thanks for trying, though. ^^;
#4
I edited the code above, try now? :3 I am going to make this work! lol
#5
Code:
<div id="QUOTE" class="floatimg iconimg" style="float:right;"><a href="http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvwy9uBAYv1r3yrd2o1_500.png" rel="lyteframe" rev="width: 600px; height: 300px; scrolling: yes;"><img src="http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvwy9uBAYv1r3yrd2o1_500.png" title="Irinei" alt="Irinei" style="width: 150px;" ></a></div>

The rev="width: 600px; height: 300px; scrolling: yes;" specifically refers to the lightbox pop-up. To set an image width, it's just style="width:XXpx;" or whatever. c:
