On the lower edge of Halcyon Mountain, near The Dampwoods
Coming down out of the mountains in order to avoid the pack she had sniffed along the way was hard enough for poor Ada. Now she had a sprained paw, and she was even more exhausted than when her journey began. But she wouldn't stop - no matter how tired she was - even if it meant continuing to run through the night like she had been doing. She wasn't going to let those horrid luperci catch her now.
Hobbling down the rocky slope, Ada had to blink away the tears in her eyes that clouded her vision as a result from a recent yawn in order to delight in the sight of the grass below. Quickening her pace, she stumbled forward until she finally collapsed on the frost-crisped grass, not even minding that the blades poked her like tiny needles - anything felt better than those treacherous rocks right now. Rolling around and yipping like a pup, a genuine smile stretched across Ada's face as she let her body unwind. Finally, lying still and panting as she stared up at the orange sky, she sighed out every bit of stress in her tired muscles. A sort of drunkenness wafted over her as she laid there, and soon enough her eyelids fell with the setting sun.
