It had been a month since Odessa obtained Juan. And the recovery was miraculous, even by Odessa's standards. In some part of her mind she wished that she'd been right, just for the sake of it. But she had to respect that sometimes she would be wrong. She sat in the curtained doorway of her house, Juan at her lap, chewing on the chunks of rabbit given to him. In a sharp stab of coincidence, in a wooden run she had one of the slaves construct for her, complete with wire over the top, sat a handful of her rabbits. Of course, the two bucks were there, and three females who had not succumbed to the males as of yet, from the ten founding rabbits were out. Along with some of the near fully grown bunnies. Nearly ready for the harvest. The rest were carrying litters or tending to younger bunnies, and were unable to be let outside. The others however, had no reason to stay in their hutch.

In contrast she had not seen Keshi all morning, but she was not worried, he always did have a tendency to stray from where he usually slept. Odessa wished that there was another stable, she'd even build one herself had she had any idea how to. Perhaps she could put it to the leaders. I mean she'd already inquired about a cart, from that woman, Amy something. She be in the family soon, she assumed. She herself thought that with her co-rank in sight (and a useful one at that) her ideas about breeding rabbits to save hunting for them and her trading, she'd be a shoe in for one. Though she never knew how things worked around here, so she simply waited. Running a hand down Juan's back she looked out to the scenery lazily.
