Bambi Lafron

Word Count → 800. 7 points :: Table ©Raze. I apologize for the first paragraph.. It seems a little.. Mixed up, or something. Idk. Strange. Don't feel any need to compete with the large word count. Really didn't think it would turn out this long!

Bambi had never seen a collection of buildings quite like this. They came in various sorts and sizes- The taller ones reached up high- Higher then she thought possible to go without collapsing. She hasn't been a fan of heights herself, "Why would someone want to sleep so close to the sky?" It was almost impossible for the Aussie to wrap her head around the idea of creatures, even humans, wanting to use buildings for anything OTHER then sleep. The humans had inhabited this Earth far to long ago for her to have much information on them.. Especially since she had lived a pretty 'sheltered' life. Ever since she left the womb her master had been trying to brainwash her in to thinking different things. Luckily, her mother had used the short amount of time she had with her daughter to teach her different ways of viewing the world.. Consequently leaving her, to this day, more open minded.

Her blue eyes were now focused more on the road ahead then the buildings that surrounded her. She had almost tripped a few times over the cracked pavements, and was now determined to be more careful. Land that was once finely paved over by inches of concrete was now reclaiming its' place. It seemed eager to once again reveal itself to the sun, and even the weeds that would normally be viewed as unattractive looked hopeful. Halifax, a city that had once been completely tamed by hairless beings, was now turning back into a feral landscape. It was hard for Bambi to picture the buildings that had not gave in vanishing.. They seemed unbreakable in comparison to the simple homes that were built by wolves nowadays. "But if nature has the same affect on these structures as it has on the pavement, they should tumble eventually." It was a strange thought. "Something THAT large falling down.." She wondered if the ground would shake- Or if she was sleeping at the time- If it would wake her up. "Guess we'll see someday."

She wandered around for what seemed like hours- Walking in and out of old buildings and studying things that had been left behind. This abandoned land was laid out before her, and she couldn't help but be curious about it. She entered what looked like an old market, tip-toeing around to avoid getting glass in her paw. A large sack rested against the wall at the back of the store, untouched compared to the rest of the place. Bambi advanced towards the aged bag, cocking her head in a curious manner as she wondered what it may have been used for. She heard a soft meowing sound coming from behind her, "What do you have there girl?" Her companion asked. The dog raised and lowered her shoulders once, unfamiliar herself with what she was dealing with. The splash coloured canine bent down, lifting the bag and shaking it to get rid of the glass and dust that had gathered on top of it. It was in good condition considering the state of the things around it.. "Just.. Take it. We'll go look for some things to put in it." Bambi nodded, then left to follow the cat out of the store.

The next place they entered looked to be a home. The two took off in two different directions; the cat heading towards the old kitchen area, and the dog heading up the ancient stair case. She walked carefully up the steps, testing each one before putting her entire weight on it. When she reached the next floor she turned to the left, trotting into one of the rooms. It had a lovely bureau, complete with a pretty little mirror. In her mind she could picture the room all fixed up, nicely decorated and good enough to be inhabited once again. She maneuvered across the floor skillfully, trying to avoid any weak spots in it. Bambi pulled on the small knob, opening one of the draws to the bureau. Inside she found a variety of small trinkets- Before she could decide which of them to grab, she heard Nana yowling in pain from downstairs. She scooped all the old jewelry into her hand, then plopped it into the sack. She then turned her gaze to the candles that sat on top of the desk- Another yowl came from downstairs. She grabbed a load of the candles, pushing them off the desk and into the sack.

Bambi darted down the stairs, ignoring the warning squeaks it made. She headed towards the kitchen area- Where she was faced with an injured Nana. Her leg was twisted in an odd postition.. One that didn't really look like it should be put in. Bambi got down on her knees, letting out a long, loud whine.

It's cool. I love to read anyway so you can make them as long as you want. Smile

"What is this place," Leichi asked himself as he walked down the long empty roads of a long abandoned city. In his decently short life he had never really seen a city before. All he had really seen that was close to this was a small town, and that one was run by luperci anyway. The gigantic buildings slightly intimidated him as he walked under their enormous shadows. His best friend however, flew above him, scraping the tops of these tall buildings with graceful flying. As she flew, she saw Leichi looking up at her with happiness in his eyes. She then started to spiral down in almost a death spiral and right before she hit the ground, she swooped back up into the sky, spinning on her way back up, her wings flat against her body like a missile.

She looked so graceful in the sky, the sun shining off of her reddish brown wings. Leichi's best friend loved showing off. It was just in her nature. As the wall eyed wolf continued to walk the streets, a wail seemed to come from a building a little ways down. He had to run through a place where there were many old and broken trinkets and yelped when he stepped on some broke glass. He kept running though, as he ran he hopped on one foot in order to be able to pull the glass out of his bleeding foot. His hawk flew above him following him. Leichi came to an old, dilapidating house. He sniffed the air. He could smell an animal, that way the wail had to have come from there.

He sprinted clumsily towards the house and bursted through the worn out door. He saw two animals beside each other. One was a cat he thought, and the other was a dog or a wolf. He walked slowly up to the dog and spoke, his hands held behind his back shyly.

"Um, is everything ok?" he asked, stepping closer with concern when he saw the cat's twisted leg. His hawk soon swooped into the house and landed on Leichi's shoulder. She stared at the wounded cat for a good long while.

"Cat hurt. Need help," she stated in her heavy accent. Leichi looked at his best friend with an annoyed look on his face.

"No duh Timmy," he turned to the other dog, "Do you need any help?" he asked with concern etched in his face.

Bambi Lafron

Word Count → 350. 3 points :: Big Grin

Bambi scooped her arms up under the black feline; now sitting Indian style and cradling her closely. She did what little she could to calm her. She smoothed down the cat's soft fur, giving a gentle lick to her cheek. The dog hadn't really expected any one to pick up her howl.. She had explored much of this place and found it empty. But then again, she hadn't been looking very closely. He could have easily slipped under her radar.

The male's scent gave him away quickly- All Bambi had to hope was that his intentions weren't sinister. Mixed in with his smell was another critter's.. "Hawk," Her first reaction was to lean over the cat protectively, "Over my dead body." She didn't know how well a bird's sense of smell could be.. Or if it could smell at all. Either way, there was blood, and hawks were predators. She wasn't keen on taking any chances. Especially when Nana was practically defenseless. The canine craned her neck to get a look at the male- Seeing the bird perched on his shoulder, her posture softened a bit. "Hopefully.. If he's really here to help, he won't allow it to attack."

Bambi wasn't as surprised as the bird started speaking as she would have been a few days ago. It was a creature of few words- Like herself- Which she didn't really mind. If the Lafron girl hadn't been so caught up in her own worries, she most likely would have blurted out something about the gold ring attached to the wolf's ear. A look of surprise crossed her face as he offered to help.
"Cellar. Down stairs. Alcohol?" She said, pointing a finger towards the direction of the old door down the hall from their current room. "I'll get blankets." She was extremely careful about putting Nana down- But soon after she was safely resting back on the floor, she took off upstairs- Both hands now empty. Again, as she had previously done, she skillfully walked across the squeaky floor, pulling two old blankets off the bed before darting back downstairs.

word count: 520 Sorry for not replying sooner. I had a lot of Christmas stuff going on.

He saw the canine’s tense and protective posture as she cradled her cat, realized Timmy was perched on his shoulder, and soon realized what was going on. He held his hand up to his hawk for her to perch on his hand instead where he would have more control over her, hoping that that would help ease the girl’s conscience.

“Don’t worry. She won’t hurt your cat. She’s used to being around other creatures,” Leichi explained. The hawk narrowed her eyes at the wounded cat in anxiety, hoping she could resist the instinct to swoop down and claw the cat’s throat so she could have it for her next meal.

“I no hurt cat. Cat do nothing to me,” she stated in a broken high speech.

The girl had taken up the offer for his help and asked him in very few words to go find alcohol. He nodded and proceeded down to the old cellar. When he reached the bottom of the steps, he started to panic. It was dark and eerie. He wasn’t comfortable at all down there, but he wouldn’t let his fears get in the way of helping an animal in desperate need. He searched through the piles of goods on the floor, but could not find any alcohol. His hawk had perched on his shoulder and was looking around the room as well.

Her sharp eyes caught what her fearful friend didn’t. She saw a faint glimmer in the far corner of the room. The little light that did come into the cellar was shining off of a sort of bottle hidden slightly in the corner of the room. She flew over and landed on the floor searching for the shiny object. She soon found a bottle filled with a sort of liquid not yet opened, grabbed it in her talons, and flew over to Leichi. She flew in front of his face, swinging the bottle in her talons for him to grab. She let go of the bottle just as Leichi grabbed it. He pulled the cap off and sniffed it. It had a strong smell to it even when it has been stored down there for years. Out of stupid curiosity, he pressed the bottle to his lips and took a sip. He immediately spit it back out. If he remembered his old friends describing that taste, then this had to be some sort of alcohol.

He ran back up the steps, being careful to make sure he didn’t spill any of the alcohol. His hawk flew over him and perched on an old chair that was pushed in at an old dining table. Leichi rolled his eyes playfully at his friend.

“You’re always one step ahead of me, aren’t you?” he asked, remembering how she had found the bottle. The hawk looked up at her best friend and narrowed her eyes.

“No. Always one wing ahead. I no feet. Stupid wolf!” she closed her eyes and shot her head in another direction, acting like she was some queen. Of course. Leichi looked back over at the cat lying on the ground. He hoped the poor thing would be okay.
