Word Count → 355 :: This should be set not that long after Lilin and Barrett meet near Halfiax. Takes place in Halfiax. Sorry this took so long!

He stood there at the top of the building; the cold air making it difficult to breathe and the land below being the run-down street that hadn't been touched by mankind for a very long time. It was strange thinking about these humans and how they lived. They must've been pretty intelligent to have constructed such tall, beautiful buildings. Jet approached the edge of the building. The man took a deep breath before he put his goggles on and leapt off the side of the man-made tower. It felt so good to have the air rush through your fur. It was a bone-chilling, yet magnificent experience for him every time. He smiled as the ground seemed to be drawing nearer; it seemed to be his enemy since he was good friends with the air and dreaded having to walk again like every other normal person. Jet's parachute then slowed his fall. Jet was most definitely not a normal person. He was wild and crazy to the extreme. He took pride in it though, it bothered him to be normal. He liked being the one who stands out in the crowd.

The poodle landed on his feet; keeping balance by distributing his weight to all parts of his body and bending his knees. His landing still did hurt a little, though. It was worth it; he loved the thrilling sensation he got every time. It was far better than having to make his way back down through the building again; the reason he was up there in the first place was because he just wanted to explore the vacant structure. There were so many things in it made by humans. So many that Jet had found himself toying with every single one of them for a long while and that he found that it was already morning when he reached the top. Jet made his way down the street in search of nothing in particular. "This place is very interesting..." he said quietly to himself. "It makes me want to see more" he added after a short pause. He walked on as his mind continued to wander.

Word Count :: 491 Just got back from Mexico! My apologies for the wait!

The turmoil bubbling within her had eased with the beginning of a new life. Life had dealt her a pretty rough deck of cards up until recently and it was just now cutting her a break. This turn of fate had been welcomed with caution and a hint of disbelief. Just days ago, she’d been nothing but an erratic soul on a journey to find her roots and an explanation that she would more than likely never acquire. And now, although she still was nothing short of eccentric; it was safe to say she’d gained a certain level of composure and restraint. It was a fragile equilibrium, easily destroyed by the slightest jumble. But until such disturbance became manifest, Lilin found herself enjoying what the day had to offer.

Every now and then something ordinary struck her as beautiful. Dawn, as it seemed, was today’s likely candidate. Patches of clouds were sprinkled over a mixture of red and apricot hues, a time of day come and gone too fast. Foggy puffs formed within inches of her face as her breath came into contact with the crisp morning air. She couldn’t help but muse over the ability to form her very own clouds, exhaling one too many times as she marvelled in life’s simplicity. Nearly two years of age, the two-toned juvenile was still very much a child at heart. Trauma, murder, fake Gods and sacrileges (among other things) had thrown her mind into lockdown, occasionally triggering episodes of fictitious euphoria: a chemical imbalance, perhaps. Whatever it was, she was on the good side of the fence for now.

Normality obviously wasn’t meant to be. The Soulstorm girl thought she’d seen a bird of sorts but quickly came to realise that it was way too out of proportion to sustain that theory. A second glance evolved into a dumbfounded stare, which remained plastered on her face until the flying object landed safely between two buildings approximately a block away. At that point in time, curiosity overtook hesitation and her limbs began to move forward again. It wasn’t until she turned a corner, coming almost face to face with the source of peculiarity that she nearly toppled over coming to a halt. If seeing the canine hover over Halifax wasn’t enough to mind boggle her, the goggles surely would have done the deed. Not only that, she also recognized the type of breed before her. Except this one didn’t appear to be infected with mange. At least, not at first glance.

He could’ve still been in the earlier stages of the disease. Contagious or not, she wasn’t planning on finding out. Intentionally keeping a safe distance between herself and the space oddity, backing up as needed, she finally mustered up enough common sense to come up with something to say. “Uh-“ It obviously didn’t mean she would make sense. “Yeah, hey, just...” And pause. What the heck was she supposed to say? “What are you?"
