Play Time
#1
The snow had melted a little in the warm sunlight, making it slightly sticky. It clung to the wall of a house deep in the territory, safely protected from sight. Just below it, in the shadow a black form could be seen to be moving. Trudging through the snow it pressed forward, until finally a small puppy's head popped out of the snow, brown eyes sparkling. Dalgina had been let out to play, as long as she stayed near the house. She wanted to go farther, but for now she'd stay close.

Barking Dalgina dashed across the snow as best as she could, clumsy puppy paws sending her skittering. It was much better than before, when her paws had been even bigger and Dalgina had been sent sprawling as she tried to work her way across the blankets. Happily Dalgina gazed up into the sky, staring at the deep blue. It was so large, bigger than anything! Looking up Dalgina could just feel herself being swallowed by it, pulled in. Stretching out Dalgina was so caught in her thoughts she almost missed out as she pushed herself too far, knocking herself on her back. Bewlidered she looked around, before finding the position she was in even better to watch the sky from.

hi there!

The enormous mountain dog was in his Lupus form - it was a strange form for him to be in, considering he was almost always in his Optime form, wearing his familiar brown cloak made from deerskin, roaming the territories. But today, the large canine was in is dog form, the form that he would be in all the time if it weren't for the Luperci virus that had swept the world and killed the humans. His paws crunched against snow and ice, leaving deep paw prints where they had been; his long, shaggy fur protected him from the cold snow and ice, however, so he felt cool rather than cold, and was happy in this climate, as it was the climate he was born in and made to live in.

Ansui could smell another Ichikan and walked to the area to investigate; another quick sniff allowed him to realize that it was a small pup, rather than an adult. Smiling, as Ansui loved pups and loved the innocent nature they brought, he padded towards the area and saw the pup rolling around in the snow before pausing and staring up at the sky, seemingly bewildered at it. Ansui walked up until he was next to the puppy, looking at the sky as well.

"A beautiful day," his deep voice sounded. And it was - there weren't many clouds in the sky despite the chilly weather and the wintery day, and the sun could be seen shining, although it was dimmer than it would have been if it had been a summer day instead. Ansui rested his paws out in front of him and lay down with his belly to the floor; even laying down like this, he was easily over three times the size of the puppy next to him.

A deep voice sounded next to the tiny girl, sending her squealing in surprise. She scurried back onto her feet, staring at the ginormous dog beside her. Already her nose was working, telling her information that she hadn't learned before. The male smelled like her
mahn
, but he most definitely wasn't family. Even though Dalgina had never met a dog before, she knew what he was as well. Boldly she thrust her nose forward, sniffing at him.
Kanyana
namaste. Who are you? The greeting was garbled, a mix of the greeting she'd heard her father give with the gentle hello her
mahn
woke her to. Very pretty day. The
tochina
's so big! Dalgina's wide pretty eyes turned back up to the sky, enjoying the light and play. It wasn't cold at all for her. Despite her youth Dalgina's thick arctic pelt had already come in. For her this was a splendid day indeed, and she couldn't imagine a warmer day. Unless it was in the house. Then she could imagine it being warmer very well, especially in the small room where she slept with her siblings.

He smiled in amusement as the pup tumbled backward in surprise - he supposed that he should not have been so quiet, but he had been making noise with the snow; he supposed the pup was simply distracted by the beautiful sky she was looking at. Before long, his accurate and large ears picked up the sound of a wet nose snuffling around - the pup was sniffing for information to give her, and soon enough, she lurched forward and boldly began to sniff Ansui openly. He guessed that she hadn't seen anything like him before - and it was true that he had not seen many dogs like him, or many dogs at all, in the Ichikan territories. He smiled down at the puppy who displayed her curiousity so openly and innocently, his eyes full of warmth and kindness.

"Namaste," he replied, finding the pup's knowledge of Ichikan culture endearing - she seemed quite inquisitive and curious, a good trait that would lead to cleverness later on when she began to search for things to learn and entertain her mind with. The young female puppy proved his suspicions about her mind and her curiousity when she noted that it was a beautiful day - and that the sky was so big, that it was so large. "It is large," the man agreed in his deep baritone voice. "Did you know that some say," he said, a hint of lightness entering his voice, "That it goes above and above - forever." He looked up for a moment, imagining the dark depths that continued forever and forever into space and beyond. How peaceful it must be in the sky - the only animals he saw that flew there were birds, and they were small, smaller than himself and some even smaller than the curious young puppy next to him.

The small pup's eyes widened as the dog told her that the
tochina
went on forever. Does it really? Twisting her head Dalgina stared up again, trying to see if there was an end. There was still nothing there that Dalgina could see, just the wide sky spreading above her in a captivating blue. It was so beautiful, so entrancing, but the thought of it going on without end scared her a little. It was such a large thing, and she was so small, even smaller than some of her siblings.

Nervously she scuttled under the dog's stomach, poking her head out underneath his head. I don't think it should be so big. Maybe if she was a bit older Dalgina wouldn't have found the idea so scary, but her active mind told her that if the
tochina
went on forever it could swallow her up, and take her away from her family. Dalgina really didn't want that, even if she had been trying to do that just before the dog had shown up.

sorry for the wait!

Indeed, the puppy was curious, as was Ansui himself as he stared up at the sky and remembered his own inquisitiveness when he was a pup such as her. He remembered when his own mother had told him of the fact that the sky went on forever and ever, with no end - he remembered how amazed and intrigued he was, happy he was to travel the world, wondering if it, too, went on forever and ever. Traveling and gaining knowledge was what he was born into - seeking new things and new places to be, following the herds of animals. The blue sky, the one that they said would go on forever, had always amazed him; it was always beautiful to him as well, and sometimes has even intimidated him. However, he knew that he would not fall into the blue wide sky, nor would be want to; to stay on earth with his new family was well enough for him.

However, it seemed that this pup had shared his early feelings of amazement and wonder as she asked if it really did go on and on forever. He watched as she twisted her head even higher and stared at the sky, wonder and marvel in her eyes. He smiled, happy to see the pup - he enjoyed the curiousity and inquisitiveness of young ones. Yes, she did seem to share his feelings of amazement and joy - and also of slight fear, he noticed as her face twisted into that which did not seem so comfortable. This thought was confirmed when she scuttled underneath his belly, popping her head out from underneath him. He did not mind this, and made no effort to stop her; rather, he smiled warmly at the pup in an attempt to cheer her up and put on a reassuring look.

"Worry not about the sky, little one," he said, his deep voice washing over the pup. "It cannot harm you nor swallow you. It is as harmless as the clouds or the moon. It will stay there forever and has been there forever too - it is like an old friend of ours, and of our fathers'," he said. It was true; he had always considered the sky as something that would always be there. Although he had traveled much from his past, and had moved from place to place, the sky had always been there, and he knew that it always would be.

OOC its fine, been a little overwhelmed with threads. picked a good time to vanish. o yes, and got more arctic words to puzzle everyone with now

It was warm underneath the big morro, and Dalgina sat down happily, letting the fur tickle her head as he looked down at her. His words were gentle, reassuring her that she couldn't actually fall into the tochina. It was such a pretty shade, Dalgina would be sad if it really could hurt her. She crept out a little to look up again, enjoying the wide endless view. Ansui continued speaking, turning the tochina from something that was beautiful but a little scary to a warm welcoming friend that Dalgina wanted to be around.

Standing in the open again Dalgina's tail wagged. A friend? My friend too? Dalgina liked the idea of being friends with the tochina. If it really went on forever, then no matter where she went it would be there, comforting and protecting her and lighting everything up. Prancing around Dalgina wagged her tail. Will it come down to play with me?

He smiled as the pup wriggled underneath him and stayed there, warm; he did not mind, as his thick coat that contained body-heat was excellent for the cool weather that greeted them; he knew, however, that the wolves he resided with were slightly less prone to being warm in cold weather, and he shared his warmth with the innocent and curious pup gladly. Anything, he thought, to be able to help his pack in a way that would be appreciated by one, even one as small as a puppy. She didn't stay underneath him completely for long, however, as he expected of the hyper pup.

Ansui watched as she looked up at the sky and marveled at the enormity of it. She then asked if it truly was her friend, her friend and everyone else's. "Indeed it is," he rumbled. As she asked her next question, he let out a hearty laugh that was not unlike a friendly growl, coming from the depths of the great mountain dog. "I am afraid it will not come down to play, little one," he said, "but will always be there to watch you play."

OOC text here

Dalgina's tail wagged happily at the assuring words. To have the tochina as a friend seemed a very big thing indeed. Dalgina wanted to be friends with everyone she'd met, and even though she'd never thought of the tochina as something she could be friends with, she readily embraced the idea. It was something so marvelous, so big, her tiny mind could hardly wrap around it. The large morro told her it wouldn't play with her though. Dalgina pouted a little at the thought, having wanted to go play in the big blue, seeing it go on forever and ever. She did like that it would always watch her though.

Twisting around she looked up at her new friend happily. Tochina not play with me. You play with me? Her tail wagged hopefully as Dalgina tried to get a clear glance of his face, something very difficult to do since she was still buried under his fur. Dalgina had only played with her talnala before now, with Papa and Mahn not being nearly as active, always slower and more cautious about what they did.
