The trip to Crimson Dreams had gone well enough and he had honestly enjoyed breathing in the familiar scent that he had bared throughout most of his life. It still seemed odd that he was traveling away from the Dreamers and he was tempted to turn around for the sake of meeting up with some old friends. As he wandered further north and east, towards Halifax and Casa di Cavalieri, he wondered what Ehno was doing, how his old rival and friend Kansas was, and if Ghita had managed to return to Italy safely by now. Having never traveled the water’s in his life, with the exception of a rowboat on Rabbit Lake, the coal wolf had no idea how long it would talk to travel on boat from Canada to Italy.
Although his mind still focused on the timber colored lady quite a bit, the alpha was noticeably less grumpy around the fort and was trying his best to build new friendships. He told himself day in and day out that he would be able to focus more, with Ghita out of the country, and that there was no use crying over a women who would be separated by an ocean from him. It was time for him to begin his new life now that she was gone, time to work towards a good life for their now adult children, and their children, and the members of his pack. And maybe, just maybe, one day there would be another someone for him as well.
He allowed his two feet to slow in the little snow that covered the ground. Pulling his bag off his shoulder the giant began to search through it. A grumbling came from his stomach just as he pulled out the rabbit he a caught on the way to the Dreamers land. Taking a seat under one of the many leafless trees he began to tear away at the rabbit, his hunger slowly subsiding. The world around his was quiet as he ate but even so his ears remained standing at attention, the smell of the kill would likely attract some attention.
