Hotaru
Sometimes the light that guides us along our paths, is not something that we can see, but something deep inside of us.

OOC: Early in the morning on the beach. Third boat building thread.

Hotaru stood on the beach, the wind rustled her fur and made it a little difficult to ear what was going on. Still, the whistling sound wasn't obnoxious and it many way was soothing to listen to. On most days Hotaru would have been content to listen to the sound of the wind and the crashing of the waves. She loved to sit on the soft beach and let the hours roll by. But not today, today she had a job to do. She was one of Certatoir d'Arte's woodworkers, her experience with wood was important in the building process. Although she had no experience building ships, the Immaginazione still helped her input had at least provided some help. She couldn't see the books, or the runes that were inscribed in their pages. She couldn't learn about the boats on her own time like so many others, or follow the designs that the pack had agreed on. But she knew wood and she was determined to use that to the packs advantage.

Slowly but surely the skeleton of the ship had been built. Fawkes perched on top of the skeleton, his feathers rusting in the wind. As Hotaru walked her hands ran lazily over the wooden beams, taking in all of the details that were hidden to most. The wood was good, strong. It would surely last for a long time. Now it was time to build the masts and the exterior of the ship. To give this lifeless skeleton a form that would allow it to tread the ocean water. Hotaru's sightless eyes blinked, the wind and sand bothering her brown orbs.

Shouldering her satchel, she raised her grey muzzle to the sky and called out for anyone who would come. Her call wasn't desperate or pleading, it was inviting and held a small note to ask for help. She couldn't do anything without help, she needed someone to tell her how large to make the pieces and what shapes were required. Hopefully, someone would respond to her call soon, otherwise would have to call it a day. A blind wolf could do a lot, but there were still some limits to her abilities. With an exasperated huff, she set to work.

The first thing to do would be to check the skeleton for imperfections, to see if the wood had warped at all or if the wood had become damaged. This was at least something she could do without help. Hotaru ran her hands of the skeleton, moving them along the vast beams. The soft beams felt wonderful beneath her fingers and the smell of wood put her in a good mood. Hotaru had dawned a small smile as she worked, not even realizing that she sported it. Woodworking always made her feel at ease, especially when she was alone. Some part of her wished that no one answered her call, but she needed the help. Hotaru just hoped that the wind wouldn't cause to many problems with her hearing.
