Eris is by Alaine!

The evening cold gnawed at the dark woman's flesh, but her supple white leather dress and thick fur coat kept her warm enough. She was thankful for Siv's presence within Salsola, if only because the dark woman had given her such a magnificent gift as this white thing which she now wore. Her pregnancy's fat still clung to her and the dress was a tight fit, but she would shrink and it would become more appropriate to her form. Even now, however, the dress appeared perfectly made for her. The dark woman had expostulated with herself several times reasons against accepting Siv to Salsola upon first meeting her; however, she could now find no reason to have denied the silver-tinged woman entry to the pack. On the contrary, Eris was rather thankful she had the foresight to overlook her initial misgivings regarding the dark woman.

The dark woman strode from Salsola purposefully, as she always did. Her ending destination was yet unknown, but the dark woman wished to pass by Inferni and their northerly mountain neighbors. The southern packs rarely concerned Eris. All were far enough away from Salsola to pose no threat, and their distance also made any sort of friendly relations an unnecessary hassle, no matter what benefits friendship granted. Even by horseback it might take one days to reach AniWaya or Crimson Dreams. What was the use, then, in maintaining anything more than neutrality? Molcaxitl led the dusty Trader horse, which Eris was seated upon, by a long rope. The slave-girl was mute, as always, but as they walked, Eris spoke to her on occasion.

Their conversation, mundane as it was, related to Salsola and Eris's current stores of various goods. Molcaxitl rattled off numbers and projected rates of use as if she were a born accountant, displaying a particular aptitude for numerical calculations Eris had yet to realize. The dark woman herself had no comprehension whatsoever of math or numbers; such sciences were an utter mystery to her. After a brief exchange, the dark woman fell silent, and the slave, accustomed to speaking only when spoken to, said no more. The tawny slave simply held the horse's lead rope in her hand, meandering along silently. Eris was capable of riding by herself, albeit in a rudimentary fashion, but she wished Molcaxitl to accompany her, and having the slave direct the horse saved her the trouble of actually riding.

Before them, a great flat land, now devoid of sunflowers, rolled outward through the wastes. Great dead stalks were strewn about the ground, yellowed and withered. They crunched steadily beneath the horse's hooves as the pair and horse moved forward. A small murder of crows alighted into the sky as the coyote hybrids and horse passed. They flapped their wings, darting into the gloomy and gray sky with loud cawing noises of annoyance. The dark woman's chartreuse eyes followed them, and she squinted, looking to the pale spot in the clouds, where the sun lurked. She did not comment on the weather to Molcaxitl; they were both well-accustomed to the cold and overcast climate of Nova Scotia, and she did not find it necessary to comment on such mundane things normally, let alone to her slave. The tawny coyote leading the horse shivered and pressed herself tightly within her pelt wrap.

OOC: Your writing is amazing! Did it make sense, by the way, that he was about to say 'eating...Ravens,' and not just 'eating...'? I thought I was being clever, but realized it might sound confusing...

__

The few remaining stores of fat that Antykk had acquired over the early winter months were beginning to melt away as a result of his inability to find and obtain food. Why does nearly everything have to hybernate? he thought as he trudged over what appeared to be thousands of dead flower stalks. There were moments where he wished nibbling on a bush or blade of grass DIDN'T make his stomach leap into his throat, but nothing could truly beat the taste of a fresh kill. Yes, he could certainly leave the plants to the herbivores of the land.

An enraged snarl vibrated throughout Antykk's empty belly, and he had to stop for a moment to make sure it really was his stomach and not another animal. He felt himself growing delusional in his years, although he often thought to attribute it to his past - what mind WOULDN'T be left scarred after experiencing what he had experienced? His bulky body moved over the land with a stride that could only be described as labored, however, he made no effort to relieve his exhausted limbs because he was fully focused on his intent to find food, even if that meant eating...

Ravens...he could hear them in the distance. Something had spooked them, forcing them to frantically scatter into the air and toss incoherent curses over their shoulders at their offender. Antykk lifted his head, his snout attentive, and he thought he could make out the smell of a coyote...then there was another wolf...and...a horse? What a strange group of animals...he HAD to be losing his mind. But no, there they were - as he peered over his ashy shoulder he saw a dark luperci woman riding a horse, being towed along by a coyote girl. Turning on his heels, Antykk narrowed his eyes, as if it might help him better understand what he was seeing. To his disappointment, it still made no sense.

If these creatures had been male, he might have had reason to run; the last thing he wanted was an encounter with another prejudiced, male luperci. But another sniff told him that this woman was part of a pack, mother to a child even, and he couldn't help but feel the need to greet them. However, he wouldn't dare submit himself to a disadvantage in his lupus form when he could easily even the playing field. After a moment of concentration, Antykk's limbs elongated and a mess of long, stringy, black hair sprouted from a dark patch of fur on the back of his head and fell around his face. The change had become as familiar to him as swallowing, and he often found it more convenient to remain in his optime form as opposed to his lupus, though he would never truly convert to the ways of the bi-pedal canines. He was born a wolf, and would always be a wolf...not even a scrutinizing priest could change that.

Antykk did not approach the group. Instead, he stayed kneeling where he was and watched them come to him with his brilliant, amber eyes. For a moment, he felt embarrassed at the fact that this luperci woman was clothed and he was not, but there was nothing he could do about that now except awkwardly cover himself with his massive hands. He knew that the sudden lift of his large head might startle the group, but he was prepared to explain his harmlessness if need be...that is, if they were harmless as well. Antykk was not a man afraid of defending himself; he had done it countless times, and he could do it countless times more. As the woman and her companions approached, Antykk stood to his full height, turning his muscular body toward them in preparation for an address.

Thank you. ;___; <3 I feel like I'm all rambly for SoSuWriMo (info is here!). It made sense, also! >:3

Molcaxitl was the first to notice the Luperci stranger. Perhaps the horse, prey animal he was, had beaten the tawny coyote to it, but if so, the gelding made no indication of it and kept his placid pace. The tawny coyote, on the other hand, uttered a gasp and froze, instinctively pulling the lead rope so the buckskin equine would also cease his forward motion. Molcaxitl's eyes matched oranges in size and coloration as she regarded the Luperci, and the coydog shrank against the horse's foreleg, an incoherent whimper and half a word of her mother tongue escaping her maw.

Eris, on the other hand, more resembled the horse in reaction to the stranger. Drifter Bay and these flatlands before the ridge of the Halcyon Mountains were frequented by travelers, and Eris was familiar with this fact, rather unlike her slave. Molca was permitted to leave Salsola only with her mistress's blessing, which the raven-hued hybrid rarely deigned to give. The Auxiliary regarded the stranger with cool green-yellow eyes, a faint smile already playing across her muzzle. The yellowed tips of her teeth showed, and she offered a nod of her shaggy-haired head to the man. She drew out an elbow and placed one hand upon her thigh, the pelt-cloak falling out behind her to display the shock of white leather against the deep sable of her fur.

You startle my dear girl, the hybrid began, reaching with her opposing hand to stroke Molcaxitl's shoulder as if the coy-dog were livestock herself, capable of being calmed by no more than a soft word and a sugar cube. Such might have been the truth, as well, for the tawny coyote relaxed with the realization of her mistress's calm. Molca, however, was ignorant as to the root of the sable coyote's calm. No matter the buckskin gelding's even temperament, he was capable of a gallop, surely able to outrun an Optime the short distance to Salsola. Eris's true serenity, of course, came from the idea that Molcaxitl would be unable to keep up with the horse, and Eris could therefore sacrifice the slave's life for her own, should the stranger prove to be dangerous.

She does not realize you seem to mean no ill intent, the hybrid finished, her smile growing even sunnier now. What brings you this way, traveler? Eris asked, her voice acquiring a tone of cordiality close to sweetness. As with many of those roaming these wilds, the man seemed strong of body, possessing a stature Eris found both practical and aesthetically pleasing. His scars were viewed as little more than adornments to his past triumphs and trials, things to be worn with pride rather than shame. The coyote appraised him with her recruiter's eyes and found him positively bonny, though she contained her glee, lest he speak and prove himself an imbecile or a complete madman. He had passed her physical evaluation, and now she needed probe his mind and seek its character.

OOC: No not rambling at all! I like how I can picture every little detail when I read your posts. Also, I'm not entirely sure if a wolf could tell by scent if the other was mated, but I just assumed. If that's incorrect, I'll change it.

_

The woman was the first to speak, or at least the first to speak coherently. Antykk didn't understand the language in which the coyote hybrid spoke, but he could tell well enough from the language of her body that he had frightened her. He offered a gentle smile in a feeble attempt at reassurance, and then his wolfish instincts kicked in and forced him to kneel on the ground before them. His head lowered and his ears pinned back in a sort of submissive bow that managed to also portray his gentleman-like qualities. Whether she was a high-ranking wolfess in her pack or not, he would not neglect his manners simply because she had greeted him with kindness.

At the question of his reasons for his location, Antykk lifted his eyes, but only high enough that they would meet the knees of the horse upon which the dark woman sat. Why WAS he out here? Why had he continued to wander as long as he had and not joined a pack already, like his parents had suggested when he left the den many moons ago? Conjuring the best answer he could, he said, M'lady, I apologize for startling your companion; I don't intend for any discontent as you have stated. As for my reasons for travel, I have wandered all my life and have yet to find a place I can call home. I am simply 'going where the wind takes me,' as they say. It is a pleasure to have met such a friendly face, and a lovely one at that.

Antykk's voice was deep and portrayed some of the wisdom that his age provided. However, he still had enough youth in him to maintain a sort of playful air to his tone, which his loved ones knew to be his most admirable feature. Sure, he had the muscles and the handsome face, but others would say that his voice had the power to do more than just communicate. It had a certain warmth and strength to it that had on many occasions empowered the weary and wooed the head-strong. In fact, if Minna were still alive, she would say that she taught him to sing simply because she adored his voice. But she would never admit that to him.

The grey man's glittering eyes raised further still to fall on the coy-dog's face, a faint hope in his heart that he didn't frighten her any longer. His own face remained stoic, however, as it always did, and he analyzed her more as one would a puzzle than a troubled creature. But the eye contact would not be long, if existent at all, for his amber hues fell to the ground again as he analyzed their scent further. Finally his features softened as memories of his dear Minna were triggered: this woman had a mate.

Thank you. ^___^o;; A lot of this post is silly introspection; feel free to skip the first two paragraphs, as they're action-free. x: And I would think they can tell that, yeah! Especially because Eris has young bebes. c:

Eris is by Nat!

The sable-shaded canine never truly ceased seeking new blood for Salsola. Their family was not bound by blood, as many packs in these lands seemed to be. Where Anathema was composed primarily of D'Angelos -- at least, before Larkspur and Eris's own children had departed the pack -- and Inferni of Lykois, the Salsola pack was comprised of various bloodlines, as well as some complete anomalies. Eris did not think Denver had any family within the pack, and she knew Hrafn did not. Magnolia, Siv, Bastion, and Esmeralda -- none of these held relations within Salsola the sable Auxiliary was aware of.

And yet -- they were family, in a way far deeper and more meaningful than simple blood. They had all chosen one another, each willingly adhering themselves to the viscid core of the thistle kingdom. It was only natural she should seek to expand her family by whatever means necessary -- she was finished with children, at least for the foreseeable future, and so her recourse was the outsiders. She knew recruiting was a gamble, and yet most of those they'd recruited thus far had excelled within the ranks. Two to depart Salsola since its foundation were, in fact, founding members -- only one of the recruits, Jeremiah, had drifted from the pack, leaving after many months within their ranks.

Such departures saddened Eris, but she could not force every canine to remain within Salsola. Liliya had been coerced into the pack, surely, but where the sable-hued canine did not hold sufficient leverage, she could not forcibly retain her Family. In this instance, too, she did not think she could coerce this stranger to Salsola, should he prove himself worthy of the pack. Liliya had been an utterly random chance, one whose rarity the dark woman lamented. Already, however, the scarred man before them was proving respectful -- among his first actions was a bow, which the dark-shaded coyote received with a broadening of her grin and a polite nod of her own head.

The dark hybrid rather liked her high perch, and so she did not dismount even as the stranger spoke; instead, Eris listened with rapt attention, both sable ears curved toward the sound of the mottled stranger's deep voice. Her chartreuse eyes sought his gaze and found it delightfully lowered, not even so high as to reach Molcaxitl's face. The words he spoke also pleased her, though she pondered his age a moment, contemplating why one so old would have wandered all his long life. She came to realize it was not age she saw on his face but worldliness, aided considerably by the scars crossing his face. The dark-hued hybrid realized the stranger was younger than she was, when she had initially mistaken them for same-aged canines.

This pleased her even more -- she took but a moment to respond, introducing herself without her surname, though she would surely reveal it later, should he find himself amongst her association. Eris, she said, simply. Molcaxitl lives to serve me -- don't worry on her account, the sable woman said. As she had not directly addressed the tawny slave, Axi remained silent, orange-yellow eyes focused on Trader's gray hooves and the flaxen yellow stalks of dead leaf debris beneath them. I thank you for your compliments. It is rare to find a man so respectful as yourself, she said, complimenting him in turn -- tit for tat, as it were. Does the wind seek to take you home, now? Perhaps to one of the soft southern packs? Her inquiry was pleasant enough, as if she meant to offer traveler's advice if he responded positively.

Word Count → 362 :: Sorry for the wait on this!

Antykk's gaze lifted to the servant's face as soon as it seemed permitted; Molcaxitl, was her name. It was a rather odd name, but he supposed his own wasn't the most common name around either. Then, disclosure of the dark lady's name caused him to nod in acknowledgement and then rise to his feet, though his gaze was still lowered and his ears flattened against his head. He clasped his hands behind his back - the picture of a true gentleman as he stood tall and well-postured. Any man disrespectful to a woman is a man undeserving of respect himself, he stated in response to her comment. And this he believed firmly, for respect toward the fairer sex was something impressed upon him at a very young age.

The final question - or pair of questions - contorted Antykk's face as he thought...and thought...and thought. Home...this was a concept he was unfamiliar of since leaving his birth home many moons ago. And the notion of southern packs, though he knew there of course might be some, was foreign for he did not know they existed for certain. So he answered as best he could: I don't have a home to return to m'lady, if that is what you are asking. The wind, as it were, takes me to wherever a safe rest for the night may be found. But I expect you have a warm den to return to, no? He bit his tongue then, deciding it best not to speak any further for fear of sounding headstrong.

His eyes fell on the horse's feet then, and immediately he wondered why one beast would ride upon another. His own legs seemed to suit him well enough in travel; he'd never even thought of acquiring an alternative mode of transportation. But he supposed, however foolish it seemed, that it had to help in one way or another or this creature would not do it, for she seemed sensible enough. At that moment, his hands unclasped and one extended to touch the muzzle of the bay, and his amber eyes met the dark woman's for only a fleeting moment before he asked, May I?

Psh, not much of a wait! I think it's normal to wait anywhere from a few days to a week and a half for replies sometimes -- people do get busy. I am also being abnormally fast because of SoSu... >_> Normally I'm capable of being faaaaairly slow, sad to say. D:

Eris is by Kiri!

The dark-hued woman found herself in easy agreement with the scarred stranger. In Eris's experience, however, there were men who earnestly proclaimed their love of women, yet used and promptly abandoned them without so much as an instant's hesitation. Such had been the case in Eterne -- this treatment had happened at the hand of a man who would have been her uncle. Blood or not, by Salsola's definition, Metetzili was her family, and he had treated her as such, as well. Eris had been deeply hurt by his betrayal, and he had been one to tout the importance of women on more than one occasion, after all. Still, she did not judge all by her would-be uncle's precedent. The dark-hued woman smiled toward the stranger and nodded her agreement with a single graceful dip of her head.

Her question seemed to catch him off-guard, however, and he thought over his answer carefully. The silence was not an uncomfortable one for the dark Auxiliary, who simply waited with the hunting serpent's patience for his answer. Pauses might be a good thing -- indication of one careful to choose his words -- or a bad thing -- indication of one unable to think as sharply and quickly as the rest. Only the content of his answer would tell her such a thing, and she was glad to receive it, listening with curved ears and offering another nod, although this one was more sympathetic. It was also accompanied by the faintest hint of a frown, though this was not directed at him but his predicament.

Surely, she returned, both to his inquiry regarding the horse and her den. But I, too, have known the wanderer's plight once within my life. It was clear from her regalia and servant the woman's cozy life within Salsola, and she did not wish him to mistake her for one always having enjoyed such finery. Does some preoccupation keep you from finding a new den, yourself? One, perhaps, with more permanence than a night or two? Trader, the gentle gelding he was, reached his muzzle toward the man, bumping it against the outstretched hand. The coyote smiled, pleased with the beast's demeanor. It wouldn't do to have a fiesty beast she could not control; such a thing would make her look and feel a fool -- if not worse, if she ended up thrown to the ground by such a deucedly tempered beast.

Eris, the coyote added, introducing herself with truncated name. Her surname might come later, if he should accompany her back to Salsola -- or, perhaps, if they met again at a later date, should he prove uncertain for the moment. Eris preferred to seek those wanderers who possessed earnest desire to find a new abode for themselves -- or, should she have leverage enough, coercive force. It did not befit Salsola to take those wishy-washy canines who only thought they'd like some new place to lay their heads.

Word Count :: 000 Haha oh good, then I won’t worry next time it takes me a while Wink

The muzzle of the large beast touched his hand and he flinched for a moment, but then relaxed into an even rhythm of stroking as he pet the soft nose of the creature. It was a texture altogether new to him, and he almost delighted in it as he continued to stroke the beast. The dark woman’s question then resounded in his ears, making them twitch before he answered, I have nowhere to be as of late, no. Why? Do you wish to show me your home? Though he was being playful, the only sign that would reveal this was the tone in his voice, for his face remained stolid at all times. It was almost as if he were afraid to show any sign of joy, the possibility of any bit of happiness being snatched away from him hanging over his head like a raincloud. This didn’t keep him from feeling happiness, however, he just thought it best to keep it hidden from all who might find his joys better off in their own possession.

The lady spoke her name again, and this persuaded further amusement and the inability to keep a response to himself: Yes m’lady, you have told me your name. But perhaps your repetition is a result of your desire for me to call you by it, instead of ‘m’lady’? His amber eyes looked up at her now, the harmlessness of his demeanor dancing about in their shine. His hand rested on the gelding’s cheek as he held her gaze, and finally he blinked as if proving further that his eyes were not challenging. Finally, he lowered his head to coo something insignificant to the horse as he used both hands to stroke its face, his dark hair falling over his eyes and shielding them from view. His tail swayed behind him contently, and he glanced at the servant once more as if to check on her. Still looking at Molcaxitl, he asked, Eris, would it be of great inconvenience for you to tell me more of your home? His hands continued to stroke the horse until they’d had enough of the sensation, finally clasping behind his back once more.

This is why I should not post right before going to bed. ;_; /PLAYS OFF AS ERIS BEING CRAZY ERIS, TRIES NOT TO FEEL DUMB ;_; XD

Eris is by Alaine!

The inquiry regarding her home surprised her; Eris was not quite accustomed to receiving questions, herself. Others generally dove for her ploys and were all too eager to discuss themselves; she generally did not need to interrogate others to start them talking about their histories, their past, their aspirations -- them, them, them. Eris was not particularly amused by such conversations, but the dark-hued woman endured them, for they kept her informed and kept her from oversharing regarding Salsola. This man, however, did not seem quite so eager to take the offered bait, and the woman was left slightly flustered, one ear half-cocking as she considered him.

Had she introduced herself already? The coyote's mind scrambled to recall, and could not. Her mind had been faulty as of late, it seemed -- she lost time and space frequently, and the dark-hued woman felt rather like she was transcending planes without realizing it. What other explanation could there be? She frowned, and shook her head quickly, her locks waving with the motion. No, either address is fine. You must excuse me, she said, giving a girlish wave of her hand, both to dismiss the mistake and apologize. What they say about new mothers and mush for brains must be true, unfortunately -- and I am a new mother twice over, it seems, having just acquired an unwanted child. Her smile was broad as she thought of Basilaris and Salvador, curled up together back in her den. Perhaps this was a better explanation -- it was the only one she would offer verbally, in any case.

As for my home... the hybrid said, her frown dissipating into an expression to rival his own -- giving of nothing, it was a facade of stone to cover her inner workings. There are things I may tell you, and things I am forbidden to speak on. You may not have our name, but I can tell you, for example, that we do like our secrets. Her expression had shifted to one of the faintest amusement at this small jape. She need not have told him Salsola prized its secrets -- he might have inferred such himself easily from what she'd told him otherwise. I may not tell you where we are located, but I may tell you our group holds together like blood family -- closer still, I think, she said, her voice now dropped to a whisper. To emphasize this secrecy, she leaned toward him and over Molcaxitl, who stirred just enough to avoid an accidental bump from her mistress. The slave's orange eyes remained focused on the dirt and the hooves of the big gelding, unwilling to meet even the outsider's gaze.

Trader extended his nose again, but did not bump against the stranger; instead, the gelding seemed to be taking in his scent. Now, Eris's voice returned to its usual volume, and the coal-hued Auxiliary straightened back in her saddle, awkward as she felt in it. If you would have a softer existence, one that does not bind you to your pack and hold you to your oath of loyalty -- head south, or perhaps over the mountains. There's a lovely bunch of cave-dwelling wolves to the north, she said, more than willing to usher him along to one of the other packs if Salsola's premise did not interest him. She wished to have those genuinely interested in her Family and its beliefs; those who found them distasteful could make their home elsewhere. She would tell him all she knew of these other packs, even if she did speak of them derisively.

Antykk
Haha it’s alright, no worries!Word Count :: 458

Antykk nodded at her explanation for her absent senses. He knew well enough how being a new mother could wear a woman out, for he’d watched his own mate suffer from the same inconveniences; always forgetting things and repeating one’s self constantly, it was no wonder his dear Minna was always so tired. As dizzying as it was, however, he had always admired how a mother’s endurance seemed everlasting, and it was part of the reason he respected females so much.

In response to his question of her home, the dark woman leaned forward and whispered her answer to him and he nearly shivered from the act. He tried hard enough not to show it, but his ears were so sensitive that a mere whisper sent his body into a fit of pleasure. His mate had known this, too, and used it to her utmost advantage. Whenever she wanted something, all she had to do was whisper it to him and it would be hers. It was a weakness, to be sure, but he supposed there were worse imperfections to suffer from.

The horse then began to poke its nose out at Antykk again, and he extended his hand to touch it once more, thinking the beast had missed the gentle stroking. He mulled over everything the woman had told him as he pet the gelding, particularly her last comment, as it sent his mind into a tizzy trying to imagine what it might be like to belong to a pack again. It would be nice not to have to live the rest of his days alone, true enough. But if there was one pack nearby, there had to be others, and Antykk was definitely a man bound to weigh his options before making a final decision. He looked up at Eris once more, memorizing her features so that he would undoubtedly recognize her if they crossed paths again, and said, I will keep your offer in mind Eris, and I am most grateful that you would extend such an unwavering hand of fellowship to a wandering stranger such as myself. If there is anything I can do for you in return, tell me at once and I shall accommodate. Or, if you’d rather, seek my services at a later date and I will oblige nonetheless.

Though it might have been odd to most that a stranger could be so willing to serve another stranger, Antykk was not one to falter where repayment for kindness was necessary, and therefore such actions were merely instinct to him. He gave the horse another gentle pat on the nose before dropping his hands once again, his tail swaying patiently as he stood like a soldier prepared to receive his duties.

Eris is by Kiri, a gift from Sylvey!

Eris was perhaps not the most attentive mother on the wide earth, but she did earnestly try. She provided her sons and daughters with love and a warm home, and treated each like the little princes and princesses they were. This had given her two lovely adults thus far -- Pandemic and Salvia -- and one -- well, Wretch. Her palest daughter did not remember any of her family; whether she had willfully done so (as Salvia seemed to believe) or whether the memories had been stolen from her, Eris could not say. Ataxia, Artemisia, and Harrow were growing quickly, as well. They were nearing their six month and would begin to shift. And her beautiful, lovely Basilaris -- what a man he would make when he passed into adulthood.

She did not notice his reaction to the whisper, and in fact seemed more interested in Molcaxitl now that she'd said her piece. She seemed to study the girl a long moment, perhaps contemplating ordering her to straighten her posture. In actuality, she considered Antykk, glancing at him earnestly from the corners of her chartreuse eyes. When he spoke, she came to attention slowly, as if what he said did not have her riveted interest. It did, oh -- of course it did. Disappointment flooded her at his words, though it was quickly replaced as the coyote realized he had not spoken in rejection of her offer, but consideration. She took in the rest of his words with interest, though she was eager for time to pass and for this man to be at her borders already, if indeed that was his decision in the end.

Oh, you needn't do a thing now, dearest Antykk, the coyote said, feigning surprise. If you were to call upon our borders in hopes of finding a home, simply bring a gift -- some simple trifle, nothing extravagant. Unless, of course, you feel the need for extravagance, the woman explained, shrugging one shoulder as if indifferent. I do hope you find our ways acceptable. If not, ah -- the best for you, then. She smiled and inclined her head toward him, turning her attention once more to Molcaxitl. Trader, Molcaxitl -- say your good-byes to the nice man, the coyote prompted, addressing the horse before the slave. It was lovely to have met you, the coyote added, again to the scarred wolf before her. Take care of yourself.

Word Count → 316 :: Awesome, hopefully we’ll cross paths again! Thanks for the thread :]

The fae was so elegant in the way she moved and even spoke that Antykk thought himself lucky for a moment that he might be in the presence of some great and noble canine. But he knew better than to assume such things, as the last time he offered such a grand display of respect to someone he assumed high-ranking all he got in return was a mouthful of embarrassment. But either way, this woman was very well-deserving of his time and respect, so he didn’t think twice about whether or not she should need it. After all, she hadn’t dismissed his submissive posture, but rather seemed to respect it in return. The only confusing part was the fact that she seemed so friendly for a leader…at least, friendly in comparison to the only other alpha he had known in his life.

It struck Antykk funny, however, that the woman then seemed to address the horse before the girl at her side; this oddity nearly made him neglect the fact that she required a small gift of him should he find himself at her borders. This would be easy enough, sure, as a fresh kill or the like could be located if one was skilled enough to track prey in the winter. But, if he decided to join another pack, he perhaps wouldn’t need to worry himself over a gift. He still had so many questions about this pack, too, but perhaps it was better to receive an outsider’s opinion of it? His thoughts seemed to branch off in all sorts of directions, forcing him to eventually shake his head and regroup them. She then said her good-byes, and Antykk nodded briefly as he backed away from the horse. You take care as well, Eris, he said. It has been a pleasure meeting you. And with that, he passed the group and continued on his way.
