Needin some help

Okay soo I'm pretty new here and I'm trying to get my profile all fixed up and looking right but when I went to upload a picture of my wolf's companion it was HUGE. When I went to the "modifying your profile" page and tried to use the code to upload the picture but make it smaller, it wouldn't work for me for some reason. Help please?

I tend to set my width as 250 or 350 and it works out for me. Did it there for Bastion, family tree. I've set the width at 350 so it goes...
 And I've linked it so that it opens up to the large image in a new tab. If that doesn't work then I'm not sure what to say as I'm no coding genius and can only do the basics.

Yeah, that is just something minor that I learned... and how to link off so the big image can be viewed in a new tab after clicking on the image. So maybe that will work for you and if not then maybe a coding genius will happen along.
