Treasure

The stories
Mahn
told at night always filled Dalgina with wonder. The great arctic, the falling
olnagi
, the gods and goddesses that lived there. The images always burned so brightly in her mind as she drifted to sleep, imagining herself out there, her black coat marking her as queen of winter and long nights. Last night's story had been different though. The gentle rhythm, like always, was there, but it told of the treasure hidden deep within the lands, a place with a golden glow where everything was beautiful and one lived forever.

Dalgina loved hearing about all the beautiful objects, and decided that her new task would be to seek out the treasure, and find it so she could show the beautiful things her
mahn
told her about to her. She could just imagine the proud look in her eyes as Dalgina revealed what she'd done. She couldn't do it alone though. Dalgina would need someone to help her take stuff back. Walking over she nudged her
tingla
, pushing her to wake up. Pandora, come on. Let's go find the treasure!

Pandora

Pandora was laying upon her back her feet twitching in the air above her as she chased her tail within her dream. It was such a pest of a prey always out of reach always moving quicker with the game. She let out a tiny little bark and whimpered a tiny chuckle. Then she felt her tingla nudge her knocking her to her side whacking their sleeping brother next to her. Thankfully Honrin had not moved and Pandora was glad to see that he didn’t sleep well often. Then the word “treasure” perked her ears and she twisted her body into a quick stand her tongue lolled out. I’m awake. She said loudly pulling her head low realizing she almost risked the waking of their other siblings. She put her muzzle underneath Dalgina’s and nuzzled her chin. Where we going Tingla? Pandora loved going on adventures almost as much as she loved chasing her puffy tail or wrestling. Her tail wagged frantically as she awaited her sister’s plan ready to follow her anywhere.

Dalgina's tail wagged as Pandora nuzzled under her chin. Happily she gave a big sloppy lick to Pandora's ear, leaving strands of drool hanging from it. Proud that Pandora was interested in finding the treasure as much as she was Dalgina got ready to lead the explanation.

And realized she didn't have a clue how to start.

Dalgina knew that the treasure was hidden, and it had a golden glow. She also knew their
gjiskola
didn't know where it was, so it had to be outside the house. Sitting back down with a thump Dalgina pondered the problem. The treasure had to be somewhere. Deciding that under the
olnayni
was a good place to start, Dalgina turned around to head out. Her tail held high she began to lead the way out of the house. This way.

Their first obstacle was the barrier Papa had put up to keep them inside. Dalgina had found a way around it though. With much squirming she squeezed herself over the top, landing with a slight thud on the other side. Tongue lolling out of her mouth she watched to see if Pandora could get over the top on her own.

Pandora hopped back and forth excitedly as Dalgina sat thinking and again when she impressively scaled the barrier. Her tail wagged with excessive force that her body shifted along with it. She tilted her head slightly. I don’t think I can do it. She said but had started to mimic her sister’s movements. Though it was slower than her sister’s attempt she made it through with a rolling tumble along the other side. She giggled as her tail tickled her nose and feet were near her ears. She righted herself quickly and wagged her body once more. Which way now? She was excited to see what wonderful event would come next in their adventure. She would follow her sister as her body wagged as she walked rather clumsily as she couldn’t stop the thing. What you think it look like? Think it shiny? Think it flowers? I think its food… I love food. The pup did adore food but her runt like appearance was often due to her lack of dominance. She gave her siblings the opportunity to eat as they desired before her. Pandora gave her sister a bump in the rump wondering if they could play as they searched for their treasure.

It took a lot of squirming and wriggling, but Pandora made it over to the top. Dalgina giggled as she landed in a heap on the other side. Moving over she sniffed at her
tingla
, making sure she wasn't hurt. Satisfied that she wasn't Dalgina tugged at her ear, trying to pull Pandora up. Once they were both standing Dalgina looked around again. They would be leaving the house for sure, the question was where to after that.

Dalgina wasn't as big as her sister, though she wouldn't be the runt of the litter by any stretch. Her smaller body gave her more grace though, having less of herself to trip over. Her giant paws did all the work of the whole of Pandora's wriggling body unfortunately, leaving her constantly tripping. Tail wagging she skidded forward as Pandora bumped into her. I don't know.
Mahn
just said that it was golden and everything was pretty there. I think... it's got lots of shiny things, and blankets, and so much food you can't eat it all! Dalgina's imagination was stretched to the limit, trying to picture everything good in the world in one place.

She continued down the hall until they reach the stairs. Dalgina stood at the top for a moment, looking at the long stretch down. She'd gone down there before of course, but usually with an adult. Otherwise she bumped her nose on all the steps. Taking a deep breath Dalgina gathered her courage. This was part of growing up. She'd be real mature, just like Honrin, and go down the stairs by herself. Dalgina took her first step-and missed. Squealing she slid all the way down the stairs, bumping into the corners and scrabbling for purchase. She rolled to a stop at the bottom. Shaking her ears out she looked around, disoriented. What happened?

Pandora hopped from side to side as Dalgina described what they were searching for and came to a halt at the stairs. She sat slightly discouraged but she would go as long as her sister did. She looked over at her tingla and was about to mimic the actions until Dalgina tumbled down. The action looked painful but Pandora wagged her tail as her sister arose. You ok? She asked. That looked like fun. But before Pandora could wait for a response she already found herself stepping forward like her mind had made up before she realized. She curled herself up as she quickly followed in a tumble down the stairs. Luck was definitely on their side that morning cause even though she bounced and cracked into many steps causing her body to ache lightly when it was done. She landed at the bottom narrowly tumbling into her awaiting sister unharmed. She popped up to her feet her tongue lolling and vision spinning. That was fun! Let’s do it again. She said and was about to start climbing the steps once more their previous game already forgotten. She was quite the daredevil at heart she often climbed her Mahn diving into the pile of siblings below with a delightful giggle. Often scolded for the action by either her mother or her siblings she still continued to do it. She would listen for a while but often forget when lost in a moment of fun.

Yeah, I'm fine. Maybe find other way down? Her warning came too late though, as Pandora tumbled after her. Dalgina pranced at the bottom of the stairs, watching anxiously as her
tingla
came falling down. She was crashed into, bearing the weight of Pandora's small body for a moment before she slid away on the wood. Whoa. That was cool! Pandora moved to climb the stairs and repeat the actions, but Dalgina remembered their original goal. Stretching forward she grabbed Pandora's ear and tugged her back. No! We're looking for treasure!

She stared steadily at Pandora until she was sure her
tingla
agreed, and started off again across the floor. Now they had to cross the expanse of the living room floor before they reached the door. Dalgina stuck her nose out, sniffing the air to make sure no one was there to stop the puppies from exploring. Satisfied all was well Dalgina trotted out, tail held high as a banner. Her feet sank into the carpet as they walked, soft between their tender paws. Reaching the door Dalgina pushed against it. The door was closed though, and Dalgina was too small to open it. She'd have to find another way around.

Turning Dalgina surveyed where they were. There was the couch, and the fireplace, and a big window to let in light. The window was nice, pushed open today. There was no glass in the frame, removed as it had broken under a particularly bad storm. That would be their way out. Dalgina trotted over and pushed herself up on the couch. She leaned her paws against the back, whining as she tried to reach the window.

Pandora
272 lol I hear Pandora humming the mission impossible theme just rolling and hopping around the living room... she's just totally in her own world in that moment.

Pandora gave a little yelp as her ear got tugged but her tail continued to wag delightfully. She sat nodding her head in an excessive manner and listened to her sister with only a slight glance to the staircase. I be back She thought in a playful manner and trotted behind Dalgina. It was strange being on their own but she felt safe having her sister with her. She made sure no one was following them as her sister seemed to watch over the front. She found herself quietly humming a fast paced tune as she hopped and danced her paws in a small stepped run. Pandora was enjoying being sneaky and the possibility of being caught out of the safety of their home was exciting. The pup never one for straight lines may have ended up on every surface the living room had to offer before she realized she wasn’t following her sister anymore. She stood up after rolling around for a few circles and halted her humming. She trotted over and gave Dalgina’s rump a nudge to get her on the couch. Pandora glanced up her tongue lolled. We going out window? She thought it pure genius as she finally took notice to the closed front door. Pandora backed up and gave a running start leaping at the couch. Her first attempt ended with a breath releasing thump and a clawed at the couch. She let herself fall and attempted again this time wiggling her behind before running even hard this time and she made it up. She smiled happily and looked to see what their next hurdle may be.

Pandora's humming hadn't cut into Dalgina's train of thought at all, though she did realize her tingla wasn't behind her as she was supposed to be. The area had been cleared though, so it was fine. Dalgina looked behind her as Pandora caught up, panting happily. Yes, out the window into the great unknown! Their front yard wasn't exactly unknown, since they'd been out there before. There was an awful lot of it though, and that made it enough for Dalgina.

She waited patiently as Pandora jumped, struggling to follow her. On the second attempt Dalgina grabbed her tingla's scruff, and pulled her up. With both puppies on the couch Dalgina turned her attention to reaching the window once more. Deciding that Pandora would make an excellent footstool Dalgina climbed on top her her tingla, and boosted herself to the window. Balancing on the edge was tricky. She looked back, ready to help her tingla accomplish what she had done.

Her tail paused in its wagging as her tingla started to climb her. She didn’t want her to fall off but the action was much harder than she had expected. Her tail would twitch from time to time and when Dalgina finally made it upon the windowsill Pandora’s tail went wild in circles. She reached up standing as tall as she could for her sister to reach her. She struggled to climb her claws scraping against the wall as her front paws grasped onto the wood. She couldn’t wait to be older, they could just ask to have the door opened but for today they couldn’t. Finally settled in place she was amazed at the sight before her. Snow, snow and more snow dappled with a few trees. She felt large in that moment and her tongue lolled forth. Where are we going to look? She said tilting her head to the side. She wondered if they could go far or if the treasure was close. She looked down at the snow below. I make sure its deep enough. And with a wiggle of her bottom as her feet adjusted she leapt forth with no thought of being injured in her mind. The landing was soft, snow drifted from the edges of the house made a deep enough landing for her small form. She looked up shaking snow from body. It didn’t hurt. It ok. She called up to her sister..

It took a lot of tugging, Dalgina's paws clicking along the sill as she hauled Pandora up. At last they both stood there though, Dalgina panting from the exertion. Her tail quickly began to wag again as she realized how close they were to their goal. It couldn't be much farther before they would find the treasure. Dalgina trotted to the edge, and stared at the vast clearing before them. Really it was only a short distance, big enough for adults to gather and enjoy in, but small enough that the pups couldn't truly get lost in it. Trees ringed around them, with other houses nearby. Delighted she watched Pandora drop down, landing in the snow.

Not waiting for her declaration of alright, Dalgina jumped after her, landing on Pandora's back. She scrambled off her tingla, nudging her with her nose to make sure she wasn't hurt by the larger pup's landing. Satisfied everything was still working Dalgina surveyed the grounds. If she was going to hide treasure, she'd put it somewhere she could find it. Like, under a big tree or in a snowbank. Spotting a likely tree with twisty branches Dalgina set off, her small puppy body pumping against the snow. Think treasure under this tree.

When Pandora looked up light was suddenly blotted out by the dark form of her sister. She yelped when she had been crushed by the sudden weight but giggled once she past that brief moment of fright. Nice landing. She giggled as she rose. She shook her multi-toned fur from head to the tip of her tail shaking away they light pain. Ready for action her tail had begun wagged swiftly and she followed her sister. Running through snow was hard for her; even as shallow as it was it was still rubbing against her belly running up to her ankles. She paused for a moment and gathered a mouthful of it before trotting awkwardly after her sister once more. She looked up at the tree before looking toward the trunk her tingla pointed out. She looked up at the large tree its branches resembled very much a monster it had been so large and its thick branches twisted in strange directions like arms. Her ears flattened against her head for a moment her tail lowered just slightly between her legs for a brief moment. You sure?

OOC goes here.

Pandora followed behind happily enough as they reached the declared treasure spot. Dalgina scooped through the snow a little, nose snuffling. She looked up in time to watch Pandora's ears and tail briefly droop, looking up at the tangled branches. The bright dreamy eyed girl followed her gaze. She didn't see a monster though, but a colorful pattern, revealing a map to where the treasure was. Pleased with her discovery Dalgina leaped back, playfully batting at the pup.

You're right! You're right! The treasure isn't hidden here! Look! The branches form a map! They'll tell us where to go! Jumping around Dalgina's tail wagged happily. Pandora was so smart for spotting that! Of course, now she'd have to actually figure out what the map meant, a much harder task. Dalgina sat down, staring at the tree silhouetted against the tochina. Her nose furrowed in concentration, trying to determine the meaning.
