He'd been back a week. Or just less than a week, considering the fact that he'd arrived in the evening a week ago. He'd done so much in that time that it often made his head spin- how he could spent a few short days doing lots and then he would lull back into a routine for the next couple of days. It seemed to hit him in waves, meeting new people, gaining new experiences. He thought of the meeting a few days ago with Regner and his granddaughter, and the cougar that had alerted him to their presence. He'd managed to patch the elderly Luperci up and send him on his way, but the man's fate often worried him. Would he be okay in the wilderness with a cut across his face? Saul hoped so. He'd managed to make it home each day, and he'd spent a while showing Temeraire around the ranch. It didnt matter than the young pup had been more interested in the warmth of his fathers body- at least Saul was trying to bond with him.

The majority of the young pups life in Ichika had been spent with Nayru however, which was fine by Saul. Nayru was able to give the pup everything that Saul could not- the most important being milk. Saul wouldn't have a son anymore had it not been for Nayru. He'd gone hunting with X'yrin and they'd learnt a lot about each other after their kill. He liked Saluce's mate, but it really was time to move out. In his spare time, Saul had managed to find a raised hillock with a sheltered alcove underneath that was perfect for an entrance. He'd begun digging within the last few days and it hadn't taken long to excavate some kind of den area. There was a larger communal area, located nearly directly beneath the hill and therefore the tallest point in the den. A small tunnel lead towards a sleeping area that had less height to the ceiling, but was wider than the communal area. He hadn't been entirely sure what kinds of things Nayru wanted for the den, but it could always be built upon.

He rose early, telling Nayru to meet him out in the valley in a few hours. He'd made a quick round of the borders, nudging rocks and flowers in to place where they'd been blown askew in the wind. He couldn't detect a foreign scent anywhere and he was happy on this fact. It wouldn't do to find any intruders right now- the male was excited to see what Nayru thought of their new home. He would be sad to say goodbye to Saluce and X'yrin's home, but he knew there would come a time when it was all just too much for the four of them, six with Kahlo and Temeraire included. It was time to settle somewhere where they wouldn't be stepping on anyone's toes, despite his love for his adopted father and his mate.

He moved swiftly over the grass, running on four legs for now. He'd gone over to see the horses, checking on Maia. She was due in June and Saul was beginning to detect the first signs of her pregnancy. Horses didn't start showing properly until close to the end of their gestation, but Saul was pleased to see that she was getting rounder. Arete had grown up and was now around a year and a half. Gideon had left Finn here as well, so the two were as inseparable as ever. Pushing these thoughts from his mind, he came to a stop outside the entrance to the den he'd dug, awaiting Nayru's arrival with their respective children.
