The journey to these new grounds was rather short, as they were located just a few miles beyond the far border of Casa di Cavalieri. Travel time was made even shorter since most of the goods were transported on the wagon and almost everyone was riding a horse. Jazz and Lorenzo seemed to not be so fond of the horses, which made Dixie roll her pretty little eyes humorously. It was obvious that they were just unaccustomed to the ways of riding and caring for the equine friends. Sooner or later she was going to take them both aside and force them to learn, no matter what. It was something very important that they all needed to learn about.
Now that they had finally reached the festival and marketplace, the horses were all stowed away in the huge pin and the wagon’s contents were unloaded into the pack tent. Dixie hoped and prayed that none of their mares got went into season or got bred while there, as she’d like to know who they got impregnated by at all times. Despite her antsyness about the horses, she was so excited about being able to mingle with other packs. Perhaps there were people she’d met before out there? Maybe some of the AniWayans and Ichikans! Getting news about Gypsy was on her mind just as soon as she thought about Saul Stormbringer and Ichika no Ho-en. She’d have to go search him out soon.
It was morning, the sun was starting to peek out brightly, causing the fresh smattering of snow to sparkle in the light. Dixie crawled out from under the blankets she and Wayne had been snuggling under and stood, looking around the Cavalieri tent with a grin. Most of her pack mates were sleeping still, comfortable in the relative warmth of their shelter. Grabbing her cloak, the one made from the mountain lion skin, she wrapped it around her shoulders and stepped out into the chilly morning air. It was time to go for a walk and explore. Perhaps she’d meet some of the other pack members and merchants!
