Set slightly forward in time at 8:00 AM. Same day.

She was in her lupus form now, snoozing the morning away. It had been pure luck to find unclaimed shelter within the woods, and Xahria had to admit she was quite thankful before. Curled up in a ball the female was, but as the bird's singing got louder, and activity of the other life increased, she slowly uncurled and became conscious. Yawning, her legs spread and as did her furry toes. The female groggily opened her eyes and looked around. The sunshine that entered her vision and made her look away, was proof that it was time to get on the road again. Xahria's usual frown went straight to her expression, and as she stood up, her form morphed into the Secui.

When her whole body shook with her command, the backpack made much sound, scaring away small critters of the woods. Smacking her lips a little and swallowing, she tried to get the dryness of her throat to go away. The canine then started to move outward of the small den - like shelter, and got to walking forward. She didn't really know if 'forward' was south, north, west, or east, but it didn't matter. Not only that, the female probably wouldn't be able to tell if she stopped to think about it, anyway. Because of her slow walking the previous day, this time Xahria decided to trot during her wandering. There was a slight bounce included in this, which she disliked, but to balance it out the female could feel how much faster it was, even though not a large amount.

Something made her forever curled downward lip curl even more. A growl. Not another's growl, her own, but not from the canine's throat. From the stomach that was aching for prey to fill it. Xahria hadn't had a meal in a little while, though of course she'd been able to hunt a few things down in her time in this land. Stopping, she tried to sniff out a scent. Much to her eagerness, a rabbit's smell was picked up, and it was pretty recent. The shifted canine put her nose to the ground, and was able to find her way. The hare was a white color due to season, and the only thing that gave it away was it's black eyes. 'Chase for the small thing was quick, but easy. In minutes she had herself a tasty snack, and it only took her a minute longer to finish it. That would do for now, Xahria would think to herself.

It's a poo-ey post. xD WC: 601

Hanna too was on the prowl for game. Her chosen form was Optime, however, and her weapon, a bow and arrows. She had heard there was a trading caravan in town, and she was considering trading in for better arrows. These were simple flint-tipped ones she'd crafted. They didn't fly well; she was no woodcrafter, for all the other skills she had, and it would be good to finally have expertly-crafted ones. Still, to trade, one had to have her own offerings. Hanna would take pelts, she decided, which meant setting snares and hunting. The pack could use the meat as well. She had ridden out from Anathema atop Galilahi, laden only with ropes and weaponry, just before dawn to begin.

Dismounting, the Zepar stood tall and scented the air. She was in the heart of the Dampwoods, well south and east of Xahria's location, so there were many scents to behold, but she picked one from the rest, that of the deer that had passed through the evening before, east to west. She followed the scent for several miles, only losing it once or twice, before the herd came into view. It was relatively small, as deer herds went, with maybe a half-dozen members total, and they were still bedded down, though stirring. She hoped in the back of her mind she could take two - the meat would not go to waste, and it would be a fine start to her pelt collection for the Festival.

Silently, the huntress took a pair of arrows from her quiver. One she held in her mouth, lightly, while she nocked the other and pulled back the string. She picked her marks, two females who didn't appear to be carrying their stag's young, then quietly made her way just a little closer to them, the better to make a killing shot. Her wide paws minimized the amount she sank in the snow and thus the amount of noise in the still air from that. Finally she halted, raised the bow, pulled the string and let the first, then the second arrow fly. The first arrow struck well, just behind the doe's shoulderblade, and it bit deep. She would not go far, Hanna could tell when she took off, and her scarlet blood would be a tell-tale sign of her path. The second arrow did not pierce a vital area at all, instead burying itself in the front of the doe's thigh. She was crippled, however, and could only limp away.

Letting the first doe run, she dropped her bow to race up to the second, as she was near enough to sprint. She grabbed one long ear and pulled against it, withdrawing a dagger from her hip and slitting the doe's throat.high, near where it met her jaw. Then she began the task of tracking the doe that had run. A short time later, Hanna was back atop Galilahi, one doe lashed to the mare's hindquarters and the other laying across the wolfess' lap.

They headed north, toward Anathema. A dark blip in the snow caught Hanna's attention; if it were a prey animal, she would take it, too, if it were possible. But as she neared it, the blip looked more and more lupine. Even nearer and there was no doubt, it was a wolf. The woman halted her horse, wriggled out from under her catch, and approached cautiously. Horses tended to worry some Luperci, and upset others who believed in more traditional modes of transportation. Her hands were never far from her belt. "Good morning, traveller. How fare you today?"

Not at all! I enjoyed reading.

It was not long after she had licked the blood off of her muzzle, that movement interrupted her thoughts. Speech filled her ears, and the female looked up to see a fellow luperci walk up. Xahria lifted her head slightly, taking in the fact this canine smelled a lot like the border scent she had picked up a bit ago. Thankfully, she hadn't trespassed accidentally like she tended to do, and had headed further into the woods. Before replying, the one in her secui form to a moment to look back to the horse not a large distance away. The female was able to make out killed prey on the back of it. Smirking a bit, she already had respect for this other female.

The fact that she smelled of a pack already put her just a little above Xahria, in her books that is, not only that, but she kept fair manners. And, she managed to get quite a good hunt in. In the back of her mind, she hoped that the deer herd wouldn't of moved too far by the time she got on the road again, after this encounter. Finally, she spoke up, shifting to her optime form, to sling her backpack off, and slide clothing on to appear presentable. Alright. Not too much of a bad morning, if I do say so myself. How about you? By now she had finished up, and moved to sling her backpack back over, following on with her quiver, bow, and arrow.

She turned her now optime head towards the suspected pack member. Her frown returned, but her eyes spoke of a sort of neutral type, plus curiosity. The female decided to motion to her horse, to comment on her respect for the other. I congratulate you on the hunt, stranger. Her brain drifted off though. Though a pack usually had prey to feast on, perhaps hers was low. Or maybe, she was a tailor. Or both. Either one was fine with her, though the second option would fair better with Xahria. Setting up a trade with pack members was a good choice, perhaps they would allow a frequent merchant to trade with several members, though not in their territory, most likely.
