WC: 536. As I finished this post, it reminded me of the time Jasmin first visited the marketplace :x Pp permission given near the end.

The sights! The colors! The sounds! Oh, what a marvelous place the winter festival was. Giselle could hardly believe her large, sparkling eyes when she first came upon the scene, accompanied by her brave little friend that darted from shoulder to shoulder. The pale princess had never been to a festival quite like this, nor had she been so far south of the lands before, but became enchanted when her eyes fell upon all the hustle and bustle. "Tux, isn't this just divine~?" She exclaimed as she clapped her hands together enthusiastically. Even in the colorful robin blue dress she wore about her form, Giselle was surrounded by swirls of color, ribbons of hued that danced and mingled with one another.

Lithe form casually meandered about the tents with no particular intent, her expression always changing with each item she came across. Several merchants called out to her, begging her to come forward and see their wares, and she obliviously obliged their individual requests. Giselle's doe-sized eyes examined each shiny bauble with interest, wrinkling her nose at the strange smells, and furrowed her brows at some of the oddities for sale. There were artisans, cooks, and performers from all over the world, enough to make the young woman's head spin.

Much like her mind, Giselle began to wander until she came close to the edge of the lake, but the festival was so crowded that even the most remote location had merchants piling shoulder to shoulder. The dark haired woman was snapped out of a reverie when a fish was suddenly held out to her, from a gaunt looking wolf behind his stall. "You like feesh? Fresh feesh for a pretty ladee." Startled, the woman backed away. "Oh, no, thank you," came her weary response; the words having been said many a time in a single afternoon. It was surprising to see how many had gathered for the festival, and how lively everyone seemed to be. "Let's go see some other tents," she told her companion as they turned away from the lake.

When the woman and her stoat floated back into the menagerie, she stopped near a tent of musicians playing into the open street. Music and song delighted the Dreamer, always able to brighten her spirits, and so the femme couldn't help but drown in the chorus. At first, she began to clap to the beat, and eventually would dance along. Giselle spun and twirled before the musicians, her weariness of the afternoon forgotten and replaced with jovial feelings. She was a blur of ivory as she danced by herself, not caring who stood to watch the scene, dark waves of hair bouncing and whirling along her snow white face. Without watching her footing, however, 'Elle bumped straight into the masculine form of another. "Oh!" Her form halted in place as she backed away from the intrusion, his golden back facing her. "I'm very sorry, sir, I--" A pause indicated her thoughts, looking up at the yellowed form she thought she recognized, his large ears standing impressively atop his head. Gingerly, a hand reached out to touch the other's arm, in hopes she wasn't dreaming of who she saw standing before her. "..Ezekiel?"

(637) tl;dr. Haven is behind Zeke and likely wanders off after this.

While the idea of trade was something Ezekiel could admire, he had not truly grasped the world of this place until they had arrived. He had come on Oblak, bringing all the goods that the pack could spare, and with Max and the over-excited Cajun joining him, had made a small camp. While Inferni was not obligated to attend, he had made the location of their set-up apparent for those who came. He had spotted Angel around, but been swept up quickly when his title was presented to a tall and imposing man with a bright red streak in his hair.

Mahavites made a point to talk to him for several long minutes, mentioning his familiarity with Ezekiel’s surname. This surprised him until the information about a horse-breeder from Freetown was announced. Ezekiel made a note to travel south again and meet these relatives, though he was unsure how soon such a thing would occur. The big wolf forced a drink down his throat despite a half-hearted protest and then gone off, promising that the leader’s feast would be a “remarkable night”.

A dark man caught his eyes, alone in his tent. Ezekiel made a point to head in his direction, grateful for the pause in the wild noise of the gathering. The wolf barely glanced up at him until the coyote began looking over the various beads placed out in wooden boxes.

“What would you want for these?” Ezekiel asked, picking through the glass beads.

“It depends on how many you want,” the morose man replied, his voice equally as sad as his face. Ezekiel wondered, briefly, what in the world had him in such a state. One hand went to the bag at his side, producing the small pouch he had brought from Inferni. A varied collection of things he had scavenged both in Halifax and the various cities he had passed on his way home was within; he drew out two broken necklaces, one gold and the other a duller bronze. The man’s eyes lit up at the sight of them.

“May I see?”

Ezekiel passed these to him, watching quietly as the man looked them over, weighed them in a palm, and then nodded. “I will take these; show me what you want.”

The blonde picked out a few glass beads, all of them red, and two charms. One in particular caught his attention; it was simple silver, worn, and clearly human made. A rampart lion graced the front, wearing a crown. Below its feet a scroll bore the title “Rev. 5:5”. Ezekiel smiled slightly, his eyes darkening. The lion of Judah. This he took for himself. His second choice was more primitive; it was a worn coin like the one he had found. A woman bearing a spear and holding a crown, worn and dated. He likewise knew who to gift this to.

“I’ll take these, two of those chains, and that roll of string.”

“Its hemp, actually,” the wolf corrected gently, and reached for the selected things. “Very strong; you will be pleased with it.”

His things placed back into the pouch, Ezekiel went on with his day. He passed another tent and heard a woman arguing with his Cajun companion, but they were smiling as they did so and the coyote ignore them. Another sight caught his eye, this one of a tall orange man he recognized. The Aquila made his way to their tent, and found the Captain quickly. They exchanged greetings and spoke of the festival itself, mentioning briefly their own homes, and Haven suggested that Ezekiel join the dance that was to come later. As he opened his mouth to object someone bumped into his back.

He wheeled and to his surprise was met with a red-haired woman. His eyes widened in surprise, mirroring her expression. “Giselle?”

WC: 310. I have dedicated my lunch break to post this short little thing :x

There had been many things to do at the grandeur gala - anywhere from exchanging commodities to ice fishing in the afternoon and telling stories at sundown - yet Giselle was most delighted by the various sounds of music that came from out of nowhere. Caught up in the revelry, all the spinning around had made the woman as dizzy as she was lively. When she had come to an abrupt stop, the snow white woman had to gather herself for a moment, mind and ears buzzing from several sounds coming together all at once. Only then when she physically bumped into the other man did she take notice of the grand area behind him, decked in ribbons of elegant golds and royal blues that marked the Court's tent.

His response mimicked her own, but that mattered little now. The woman's heart skipped a beat from excitement at his recognition of the auburn haired Dreamer. "Oh, it is you!" The woman was beside herself and, with a genuine smile broadening her pretty face, she came forward and wrapped her arms around him in a light hug. Giselle did not think to see the golden prince from the north again, and had dismissed any manner of personal space for that fleeting moment of joy the female felt.

As she stepped back, the bright feature remained painting her snowy face. "What're you doing here?" The answer would have been obvious if not for the Dreamer's shock of her encounter with the man she believed would never meet again. "Did you bring Viggo with you?" The petite woman tilted her head from side to side to gaze around, as if the large beast was standing anywhere but within the corral. Blue eyes turned to gaze up into Ezekiel's as she patiently awaited an answer, hardly noticing the orange colored man behind the coyote.

The pale woman was a sight; she was exactly as he remembered her, though her scent had changed. Something new was wrapped up in it, but his nose was still overwhelmed by the multiple canines in the area. He smiled, and returned her hug with one of his own. Despite their differences, she had brought him a moment of lovely fantasy when the world was falling apart. For that he would always remember her fondly, regardless of the shadows surrounding that time in his life.

He held his tongue long enough for her to finish speaking and then smiled broadly, shaking his long-haired head once. “No, he’s…not fond of other horses. I figured he’d be better off staying home.” The golden coyote shrugged one shoulder and then stepped to the side, allowing her to fully view the tent within. Haven had since gone off, but his orange fur was a beacon within. Motioning with his muzzle, the Aquila went on. “I know Haven, the Court’s Captain, from a way back. Then a princess ran into me, and here we are,” he shot her a broad smile, shifting his weight to look about the tent. Decorated to the nines, it was exactly what he would have expected from the Court.

WC: 647. I so did not mean for this to be so long, but then I think I got as excited as this character and ran with it XD.

She studied the male's face as he spoke with hope shining in her orbs, but in an instant her own expression fell into disappointment. "I'm sorry to hear that. I was so hoping I could say hello to him." A genuine smile painted her face at the memory of learning the single word she had learned from the man before her, in the language of the horses. She had taught it to Silvano for his colt, Heritage, and since then Giselle had yearned to learn more of the low speech of horses. Giselle nearly didn't notice the golden male move aside for the woman to see into the tent, head tilting up to gaze into his face, still grasping the reality of seeing the ruler of the north again.

The golden prince's response made the petite female blush profusely, her face unable to hide darkening cheeks behind her bright smile. Powder blue eyes became fixated on the way Ezekiel had smiled at her, and for just a moment she could not look away from the golden creature. He was everything she imagined him to be and more, a fantasy of a lifetime that had slipped from her cream colored fingertips. The pale princess was sure that Silvano, the prince she chose for her true love, would be angered by the meeting there in the marketplace, but in that moment the snow white beauty let the thought hang to dance in the wind. Only when she saw movement beyond and into the Court's tent did she look away and see several spinning figures beyond the elegant gold and blue tent. "Oh!" The realization that there was dancing inside the Court's tent excited her to no end, and Giselle's expression took on a look of nearly uncontrolled excitement. "Oh Ezekiel, they're dancing in there! Let's take a closer look~" An ivory hand touched his arm as she approached, walking ahead of him and letting herself enter the tent.

Eyes sparkled as they took in the ballroom, and the many partners that had spun around the center of the elevated tent, some with steps in tune to a song and others that appeared to have two left feet. The Dreamer noticed how some seemed dressed for the gallant event, while others appeared to have simply walked in from the marketplace. In that moment, the femme felt under-dressed for the occasion, but did not mask the glee that set her face aglow. Before she had taken another step, however, the auburn haired woman noticed a man with orange fur, who took a beautiful wolf by the hand and led her to the floor. The figures around them seemed to part for the couple, and a silence seemed to fall over the crowd as they approached the center of the dancing floor. Giselle's fingers were at her lips, as if to keep herself quiet, watching closely even from the distance how the man and woman's eyes never left one another.

Carefully, the couple of the Court took one another by the hand and began to sweep across the floor with a gentle grace, the circle of onlookers spreading out and looking on at the beautiful and romantic scene. It was a scene from one of Giselle's very own fairy tale books, as the orange man and the woman seemed at one as they danced, never once faltering, lost in their own worlds as they looked into the eyes of the other. The Dreamer began to feel her heart beat a little faster, remembering the dance of the fireflies she shared with the errant knight. It was what she wanted just then; to feel that elegance, grace, and happiness that seemed to radiate from the couple that had stolen everyone's attention. As if by some unspoken proposition, soon other couples had begun to follow their lead and fill the dance floor once more.

baaaaaaaw I suck ;-;

There was little in the world that he truly thought of with delight. One of these was the red-haired girl, because of what she represented to him. Ezekiel imagined that Giselle was some sort of unreal thing, still allowed to live in a fantasy world he could no longer bear. Cwmfen’s father, the demon, had ripped away his humanity and infected him with the darkness that grew within his heart. As long as someone remained pure and innocent, there was yet hope in the world.

Smiling, he followed her towards the group. His stark nudeness did not bother him, for Ezekiel had never wore clothing beyond the satchel and bow and arrows on his hip and back. Amber eyes followed the sight of the main dance—it was Haven and a woman he had never seen before, but assumed was Princess. The dance was one of slow, intricate movements, and he was apparent that the pair loved one another. Forlornly he thought of another woman, but there was only the here and now and the world was moving around them.

With her hand still on his arm, Ezekiel sensed the shift within her fingers; they were moving slightly and he, used to reading bodies from combat, could feel her need to move. Though unsure of what the dance entailed, he could see it was simple enough…hopefully.

Sliding his arm away, the coyote took her hand and motioned to the floor. “Do you want to dance?”

WC: 305. Nonnnsense. Also, I swore I described her letting go of Zeke's arm, but reading back I guess didn't.. oh well. Big Grin Feel free to pp her in your reply cuz I didn't x_x.

Dancing submersed the mahogany haired woman into a whole new world. She did not have to deal with any pressures or wickedness the outside world might have held – Giselle was safe inside this life of color and beauty. Any and every emotion could be let go of when two people danced, forgetting everything around but what they were feeling in that very moment. The ivory femme had read enough of dancing to be mesmerized by it, and many times as a little girl she would dance on the feet of her papa’s, and by herself when he fell ill. When she had danced with her knight, seemingly moons ago, it was a new experience that had brought with it an air of magic and enchantment.

Giselle had sensed the golden prince lingering beside her, but she was too distracted to take notice. There they stood, like polished ivory and burnished gold, belonging within that regal tent among the other dancers. The world was different within the drapes of royal blue and silken gold, spinning and twirling in vibrant colors and equally gaily noise. The pale princess' tail waved happily behind her, but she was so swept up in all the merriment that her form nearly jumped when Ezekiel moved to grasp her hand, a feathery but confident touch.

Her heart skipped a beat at his question; once, the Dreamer would have reacted differently to the request, yet she could not stop her fluttering heart and the stirring of her emotions in reaction. It was a fairy tale scene popping out from the very books she read and lived by, about to come true for the hopeful dreamer. With a genuine smile, she nodded up at him, light blue eyes matching the sweeping movements of the porcelain figures on the dance floor. ”I would love to.”

meds make me write poorly ;-;

The golden coyote was severely underdressed, but he carried himself with the pride that his rank allowed. Aquila of Inferni, most terrible and savage, now led the pale woman to the dance floor. He imitated Haven’s steps at a slower pace, unsure of himself and unsure of her , but there was a simple enough pace and order to the music. He allowed this to guide them, never faltering even when he made a misstep. A broad smile crossed his face as they went, and for the time, there was only this moment.

Around them the bright colors of the silk-draped tent and other dancers spun and moved with the motion of the dance and the cold air from outside. A cacophony of noise filled his ears, from the noise, from the laughter of the other dancers, from the voices of those around and even further, outside of the tent. Ezekiel grinned broadly and quickened his pace, satisfied that Giselle was able to keep up. He moved close to her as to better serve as their guide, his body reading her movements as he would read someone in a fight. It was different, of course, but his body likened it to the same. For this moment, he was truly happy—and it showed on his face, beaming as it only did in combat.
