Beneath dark lashes, pale yellow eyes flashed up from the mugs in her hands to trail the long hallway. Though snow had not fallen in a few days, the air was bitterly cold and it kept the Lykoi woman hiding indoors beneath a pile of blankets and skins from its sharp bite. Now she skittered among the Ruins in her usual denim and accessories, but a few new things had joined the portrait that was Clover. Amongst the halo of gold had been weaved a darkly colored feather which had been given to the woman from the Auxiliary herself. A thin leather cord circled her neck, falling gently over both collarbones to cradle a carved wooden necklace at her chest. Since the day she had received the gifts, they had become a permanent fixture to the girl’s appearance. She had taken the time to braid a strand of hair framing her face and situate the white headband around her forehead, and silently wished she owned a mirror like the one in Sirius’ possession.

Nearly silent steps brought her closer to the chamber she often visited, though her intentions usually involved the tidying of her Boss’ things. However, Clover’s fieldtrip to his room now served a different motive. Her thoughts had gone to her brooding, handsome king often as of late, and she longed for his company on this cold winter day. Barely visible wisps of steam rose from the mugs she held gently in both palms, the subtle aroma of lemon accompanying the frigid air.

When she came to the doorway of his chamber door, the Lykoi woman hesitated just outside. My King, she hummed softly, hoping a response would be issued to inform her whether or not her waited just within. She hoped the freshly steaming tea along with her soft words could warm his heart today, and bring her one step closer. If she could not keep him, she would still covet his presence and bask in it like the warm summer sun’s rays.
