why can't I be

Ahhh...I suck. Muse decides to stand me up, and I'm left fumbling, it will get better soon hopefully.

The feelings of past torment seemed to reappear in her dreams, being helplessly overpowered and without a voice to call out. Faces of people she cared about were there, only to vanish to nothing when she awoke. The young hybrid was awake once again, the dark girl rubbed her eyes with small hands, only to peer around the room with wine-colored orbs. The room she slept in was too large for just her to dwell in, the room was dark, and very much like an empty void. Lifting herself from the tattered and slightly uncomfortable mattress. She was too tired to rekindle the fire, to bring the flames back to life. A soft warm fur cloak lay in a heap by her feet, delicate hands picke it up and wrapped it around her body. Joining Anathema wasn't too difficult, Naniko was nice and the cut over her palm wasn't festering or remotely painful.

The dark winding caves were foreign to the young Italian, Selene had already been lost twice? Earlier and the day before when she had been accepted into the cave systems. It was still early in the night, she couldn't possibly be the only one wandering aimlessly through the mountain. She huffed a small sigh, lost once again to the dark tunnels. Soon enough she'd be familiar with the place, know the ways of the large pack in a couple of weeks. The coydog tried her hardest not to accidentally traipse unwanted into someone else's room, fearing embarrassment and I'll feelings towards her. Sel's body was still sore from past events, her ribs sometimes left the young femme breathless, and unable to walk. She was thrown from a large elevation, off a grand ship onto the docks, left for dead. A warm glow from a communal room caught her eye, it appeared as if no one was occupying that area. Someone was keeping the fires going, which made a smile creep to her tired face.

Selene's body sought the warmth of the warm flickering fire, she moved closer, and sat in front of it, half sitting half laying beside it, propping herself up with one arm. It was deadly silent in Anathema, it was possible to hear a pebble drop. Nothing compared to the lively festival she was at earlier on. [/html]

Word Count » 000 :: Out of character text here.

Io had took the trio of pups into the caves, simply because Dymtr wanted to see them. The other wanted to stay at home but Io had insisted that they do what Dymtr wanted, yet they gave no reasoning to why she wished for them to do so. They were obedient children and didn't complain when they were told to do something. Jandro had more room to do so however, as his mind was better form that his 'sisters'. She stayed quite, with the odd word here and there. Dymtr moved steadily forward, bolder in his ways than either of his siblings, even put together. 'Slow down' Io ordered him, 'And you two speed up' she shouted back to the other male and small female pup behind her. All three did as she commanded.

Moving into the fire room as his mother had described it, a very forward Dymtr ran over to the heat and to the woman sitting there. But more because of the fire. 'Jesus Christ Dymtr!' she hissed, 'Stop messing about before you set yourself alight' she warned. Stepping back from the fire, the ash and white chested pup turned to the woman. 'Hey' he greeted smiling, the small pink scar on his lip crinkling.

Big Grin sorry for the wait.

Selene watched the flames flicker beside her outstretched legs, the heat warming and sustaining the heat on her body. It was quiet, nice enough to stay in her seated position.  Tiny footsteps had the girl turning curiously to see what it was. It was a young pup, bold and curious as it seemed, even more rebellious by the way its mother was scolding him for going to close to the fire. Looking at the small figure of the pup, a brown paw was stretched out to block the fire from the boy. "Don't go too close. " It really was a no-brainer as everyone knew of the immense hear fire most of the time held, but everyone watched over each other in these caves, and seeing a small one burn himself wouldn't be a pretty or particularly nice thing to see and feel. Ruby eyes glanced to the presumed mother of the child, an apologetic expression crossing her thinnish face. "I'm sorry. "

The little grin on the tiny boy was rather cute for a pup, how young things could be so enthroned in innocence and smiles. She watched the other pups, who appeared to be obeying their mother, a small toothy smile spread from her lean muzzle. Her eyes turned back to the natural heat source, yet a watchful eye was kept on the young one. Her family had died from a fire, and even someone hurt by one wasn't the price to pay.

'M not gonna burn myself' Dymtr complained, 'M not stoopid'. Yet still he grinned, shifting an inch or so from the flames, but not far enough for his mother's liking. Either way she didn't say anything, preferring to let him learn from his mistakes. LIke the time she told him and told him to stay away from the god damn knife, but did he listen? No. And that was the story of the scar on his lip. It had scarred over now, leaving a little pick trail on his lip. Still he hadn't learnt to mess with things and Io assumed he never would. Jandro moved forward, walking with a gentle saunter, 'Ain't you learnt yet? Do what Mama tells us' he reminded, his tail flicking gently while blue eyes watched his brother.

Io shook her head, 'No need to be sorry. If he burns himself it is no one fault but his' she replied, almost too casually to be considered responsible. She'd just learnt from experience that letting pups learn from their mistakes was a quicker way than telling them over and over again. Sure they'd end up with a few scars but Io was never the short of mother to wrap her children up in bubble wrap. Although she'd do anything for them.
