What was a pet? The coyote wolf male could only wonder. The Lone hybrid wanted to make his pet stand out, he wanted to make sure that she could let everyone know that she was property of him and him alone. If anyone wanted anything from the snowy white smelly she wolf that they would have to go though him. Was that not what you did with your pets? You gifted them with a collar and a leash? Rojo knew he did not have to worry about trying to name her. She came with a name. Though he knew he was going to have to work on teaching her manners. She snapped at him one too many times. She was going to learn one way or another the he was in charge and she was just a pet, a stupid, replaceable pet that should be thanking him for taking her under his care. She would have food in her stomach and would not have to worry about someone trying to hurt her. Rojo would shield her away from the harshness of the world.

The male walked booth to booth looking at the leathers, none felt right, he wanted something that he could make her wear, he wanted it to look pretty against her colorless coat. Walking on his two feet the male walked booth to both picking up the leathers and flipping them over, tugging on them and smelling them. He wanted something that would prove to stand up against the test of time. Not only did it have to stand up and last, it had to be pretty, he was going to be a good pet owner.
By the time the male reached the third booth, the male that owned the store has a shimmer in his eyes. ”Ohhh you want special? I have that! You wait!” The bi-pedal dog walked back into the tent that he had set up as his makeshift home for the time that they were here. The male came back out of the home with a pink dyed collar with rhinestones all over it. The hybrid brown and white male smiled, giving a nod. Yes! Yes this was just what he wanted. It would look so nice against her, now only to be nice and give it to her and let her know what he demand from her. She no longer had the will of freewill. She was owned and would be his property. IF she would ever want to have pups…he would find a male what was of wolf blood and wolf blood only that he thought would make a good litter with her. That was it. The native to the land looked at the male as he shifted over, leaning over the counter, as he made a motion and the dog meet him half way over the counter.

Rojo whispered to the male about some female that was looking for a good time, the truth behind this story? None! Rojo wanted a cheap and easy trade, and with the light that was now shimmering in the dog’s eyes he had gotten just that. The dog leaned back now smiling like a stupid fool nodding ”Very good! Very good! You take! You have! Make good deal!” The silver and brown coyote male smiled as he turned around, walking down the rows of booths taking a few seconds to look as check each one out. He might have something they wanted, and they could shower him in gift to take to his now favorite and only pet.

The crowded street bustled with the noises and hectic activity of trading. In every tent people could be heard bartering for goods; trying to create a fair, or in some cases not-so-fair, trade. Canine's traded goods in the streets as well, their frustrated tones only adding to the noise. Somewhere the yowl of cats could be heard, perhaps two companions arguing or simply wild cats fighting over territory. Either way, their angry cries only added to the boisterous atmosphere. It was enough to overwhelm any blind creature that happened to pass through. Thankfully, it was not Hotaru's first day at the festival and she had gotten somewhat used to clamorous environment.

One of the things on Hotaru's list to buy was leather. She desperately needed more leather. Leather was an important components in many of the wooden items she liked to create. One example was the bow she had on her back. The handles of all her bows were tightly wrapped with strong leather to allow hunters to grip the weapons better. Leather would also be used to give wooden tools better handles, or as straps for her jewelry. Hotaru had sent Fawkes ahead to scout out locations where leather could be bought, although he wasn't the greatest scout in the world because the bird often got sidetracked by the shiny jewelry some merchants sold.

Using Fawkes as a guide, Hotaru traveled through the rows of tents. At each booth Fawkes led her to, she would stop and carefully examine the sheets of leather. Hotaru wanted to see all of the shops before making her decision. Some traders sold poor leather, but at cheap prices. While others had leather of the finest quality that were being sold at an almost criminal rate. With Fawkes on her shoulders giving directions Hotaru made it to yet another store. The blind wolf made a brilliant use of her staff. She found out early on that if she swung the staff in a certain way, not only would it allow her to walk safely but other canines would clear the way for her. She was sure that this ended up causing people to stare at her, but she was blind so she didn't really care.

The final tent Hotaru visited was a fairly busy one and smelled heavily of meat and animal pelts. This particular tent was run by a soft spoken female, which was almost an irritation to the blind wolf. However, her wares were good and fairly priced. They leather wasn't the highest of quality, but not the lowest either. Tt came in sheets of many sizes that was perfect for what Hotaru had in mind. "Can I get two small sheets and one of the smaller medium sheets of leather? And I guess...a small sheet of rawhide." Hotaru listened eagerly as her order was processed and the sheets she requested were placed on the counter before her. The blind wolf didn't want to have to lug around large sheets of leather and rawhide, but they would still stick out of her bag. From there the blind wolf began the bartering process.

Hotaru wanted to trade her bow as payment for everything, but the trader claimed that the bow was not enough and wanted her box as well. The smallest hints of a frown touched her face as she thought about the price. Hotaru granted the soft-spoken female that her wooden pieces were not the best, from from it actually. However, the bow was well made and even had one growth ring exposed making it a valuable piece. Her wooden box was similar: the design was simple, but it was well made and could withstand the beatings it would sustain during travel. For several minutes Hotaru and the trader discussed the price. Eventually it was decided that Hotaru would give the hunting bow and the wooden box for all of the leather plus two scraps of salted meat.

With negotiations done and her objective complete Hotaru decided to sit down on a stump near the tent while she slowly chewed on her meat. After his job was done, Fawkes had flown off in search of fresh food. Festivals were great for attracting mice and rats, so he preferred to hunt those as opposed to the meat Hotaru had bought for him. It would be a little while before the red bird returned, leaving Hotaru to sit on the stump in graceful silence.

No matter where he went there was that tainting smell of wolf. No matter which way he moved he was faced with one, and he could bet none of them to trace their blood lines back nearly past the grandparents. How much truth did they have in the blood lines? How hard was it just to keep the illness of being a wolf within the one blood line all the time breed? Really, the wolves should breed with wolves. Dogs should breed with other dog, and coyote’s with coyotes. If everyone played good and stayed within the blood lines that they had to stay within, there would be no issues. There would be no mutations within the children that were forced to walk upon the lands. It was tempting to gather up all these children and then kill them. Quickly and without pain for it wasn’t their fault really.

The male heard the voice, it was another wolf. A stupid, self center weak wolf. He wanted to scream and he wanted to raise a fight, run the blasted thing off. However these lands where not his own, and he could not do just that. Watching the trade that took place the male snickered, so she was helpless, how his mind went into a spin.

Unknowing to the male this one wolf was blind; she was blind and had help of a bird something that flew around and could fly away from her. Something that he could throw a stone at and bring it down and strip it of its wing feathers. Pushing his paw one in front of the other he smiled that Romeo smile, it was fake, and it was a smile that could almost, yes almost be thought of care. Really though it was not. ”Are you lost with your weapons dear lady?” The hybrid male knew that if she did not have any weapons, then he could take the she wolf down and he could kill her, she would be one less wolf in this world and he would one wolf close to having a world where the wolves would not be trying to take all the foods that the little guys rightfully won.

Coyote’s, Rojo knew where the underdogs. They were always being forced to run from the wolves for they were bigger, and they were stronger. However once they had a mixture of the strength and wits all on their side…then, then and only thing would the coyotes rise up and take down a wolf at a time and take back over the world. That was Rojo’s plan to take them down, and clean this world of all of its impurities.

Looking down at the soft pink dog collar that he had traded for Kiara, he looked back to the brown eyed she wolf. He wondered what she was like. Foolish like Kiara, or blunt and harsh like Liam and the golden lady that he had meet at the borders. Either way he would get out of her what he wanted and then would leave her.

To sit and observe was something that required a high level of patience, something Hotaru was still working on. She sat quietly and almost completely still. Those who passed by her might have thought the grey wolf was a statue. Her red-tipped ears would twitch every now and then as she tried to listen to something specific. Her noze took in the different scents and worked hard to isolate and identify whatever the smell was. Occasionally she would bring the meat to her mouth and take another bite, but the meat wasn't all that important to her at the time. She was training her mind and honing her senses, a boring but necessary job.

The sound of approaching footsteps drew Hotaru's attention. Although many passed by, there was one pair of steps that drew closer to her. The smell of a canine, a coywolf perhaps, filled her nostrils. Hotaru's first impression of him was that he was a loner. He did not smell of pack and he had that earthy smell that loners tended to carry with them. Her second impression of the male was not as simple. When he spoke, although the words seemed nice, there was also a sinister undertone. It was very slight, but the undertone stood out in her mind because of the words he chose to use. Weapons, he mentioned weapons in a topic that was complete unrelated. He wasn't worried that she might be lost, or trying to flirt with her. He wanted to know if she was armed, and Hotaru was not about to tell him no.

The male before her spoke in riddles, but he wasn't the only one who could. With her usual polite smile dawned Hotaru set to work. "What is found, is not always lost. What is seemingly helpless, can be as deadly as a snake. Wouldn't you agree oh, serpentine friend?" Her basic message was this, "I'm not fooled by you, snake." Hotaru couldn't see his actions, she couldn't see his charming smile or his beautiful gestures. Perhaps that was what gave her clarity, she could only hear his words and was able to pick out his fake charms and insidious undertones. Whatever it was, one thing was clear, the blind wolf was not fooled by the stranger.

The male was matched in his riddles by her; she turned the topic from her weapon that she had to give up to the how nothing is always as badly as it looks. The male chuckled, as he narrowed his eyes down upon her. She was asking for it, the male wanted to place his hands around her neck and just grip in and pushing and pulling his hand back and forth in a very violent motion, he wanted to grip in tighter and tighter and keep throwing his hands back and forth. She would be so wonderful for that to…to bad that there were so many other beings around to see such the horrid crime take place.
The male watched her, she was not looking right at him, and her brown eyes seemed to be looked though him, as if he wasn’t really there. That only added fuel to the fire that he had burning in side of him. If she did not watch it she would be facing his wrath, he would not treat her as tenderly as he done the white she wolf Kiara.

Kiara was his new pet, and he wanted to be a good master, pet owner, or whatever title that he was supposes to have now that he had claimed her as one of his own. She was now his property, and really there was nothing that she could do to change that she was now an owned piece of property. Hell he had went out and had gotten her the collar that he clutched in his hands now for her.
”True, but sometime that serpent can be a robin under that. A symbol of something of good or even of change that is to come.” The male laid the color down upon his lap as he rubbed his hands together, he just wanted to wrap his hands around her neck, just a good grip that was all that he wanted.

He felt like he had to dumb it down just a bit, after all she was a wolf, even if she thought she was smart enough to talk in a riddle like state that he was so skilled in doing. The male did not to overly confuse the poor stupid wolf. Though...with that thought in mine it just might be great to watch her squirmed under the pressure of having to think and having to use the small peanut of a mind that she had upon her shoulder.

He placed his hand down picking up the collar as he shifted around upon his feet, watching her waiting for her to take a second of weakness that way he could jump quickly upon her and then blow out that little flame that was her candle of life. It was a shame he was so hateful…he could have be a pretty nice being…but he was tainted with the hate that flowed though the lands for all hybrids….even him.

Hotaru was never the type to turn down a battle of words and riddles. Such things were amusing to an artist like herself, and really the only battles a blind wolf could participate in. Yet, there was a certain edge to the clash of minds that seemed almost deadly. The strange male's voice, the way he walked, everything seemed off. It was like being near a higher predator, a deadly situation and one no one really enjoyed being in. If it weren't for the threatening atmosphere, then Hotaru would have really enjoyed the battle of words. The grey wolf would have to tread carefully, although Hotaru was a little safe because they were in a large crowd. Hotaru wished at that moment, more than most, that Fawkes was by her side as opposed to hunting.

Once again, his words were sweet, but held a sinister undertone. Even though the stranger was trying to portray himself as harmless, it was clearly to let her guard down. He wanted something from her, and Hotaru suspected that she would regret finding out. "One would have to wait a very long time for such a change. Even then, a robin can’t hide it’s talons or sharp beak." Hotaru's tone was polite and friendly. She adorned her regular mask with a small polite smile, nothing showed her true emotions.

A slight rustling from the male drew her attention. He was moving, but it didn't sound like he was coming closer. Moving his arms? To what avail? Was there something in his hands? No, there was a hollow sound, like something was rubbing together. His paws, he was rubbing his paws together. The blind wolf listened carefully, her ears facing forward and alert. More movement and a slightly metallic sound. Now there was something in his hands. Hotaru tentatively sniffed the air, but only let her black nose move. There wasn't the tell tale smell of metal, so not a metallic weapon. The only other thing Hotaru could smell was leather, and she suspected it was her own stocks of hide that her nose picked up.

To ease her unrest, Hotaru casually placed one hand on her staff. Although its primary purpose was to help her travel, she could at least get one good whack in. With the other hand she to a bite out of the dried meat, turning her head slightly away as if she hadn't a care in the world.
