Broken Spirit
#1
This is set when Hadley still belonged to Amy.

Shivering Hadley crouched by a small stream. New cuts covered his body from the game that Amy had decided to play this morning. He was beginning to think that he hated the word play. It gave him nothing but pain, bringing him to withdraw into himself even more. Hadley had stopped trying to run away, finding no spirit or purpose within himself. He simply existed as an extension of Amy's will. There was nothing else left for him. Hadley had already left behind his family, and he had no friends. Only the angel that towered over him, cruelly giving him pain. At least with Amy his life had some stability. He always got enough to eat, and enough rest. Just enough though. He didn't want to grow useless from sleeping and eating too much like Amy always warned him about.

He looked around cautiously to see if Amy was there, ready to continue the game. Deeming it safe enough Hadley waded in. The water washed away his blood, turning it slightly pink as it went down. His large ears swiveled around, his eyes watching it wash away. The water was so cold, biting into his flesh. If he remained in there the water would just slowly freeze him, killing him. He held that thought for a moment before walking back towards shore. He wouldn't die. He was stronger than that. Hadley had survived that first night of torture, and he'd keep going, even as it slowly destroyed his spirit.
