First encounter of a scary kind

After the Kel/Dalgina thread but before the Kel/Pandora thread.

Keldava crept through the forest slowly, body tense in what she believed to be a hunters crouch but in reality was closer to a drunken deer performing a play bow.

The puppy had quickly become a master of escaping the house over the last week, finding a myriad of holes and crannies which allowed the small canine to make her way through the house. By the time all of these had been found and plugged up Keldava had become proficient enough in climbing to simply escape through the window; the puppy had come to see her parent's efforts to keep her inside as a game of sorts.

Today however Keldava was out on more "important" business than simply exploring. The puppy had come across her mother griping at the end of a hard hunting session and had decided to help her by catching a rabbit!

Of course Keldava had no idea what a rabbit actually looked like beyond a vague description of "fluffy tail" but that seemed to be enough for sticking out of the bushes just ahead of her was indeed, a fluffy tail!

For some reason the animal in the bush had decided to ignore the puppy's approach, allowing Keldava to get into pouncing range. With a high pitched cry the young puppy threw herself forwards, latching onto the tail with a pair of tiny jaws.

The most-certainly-not-rabbit turned, hissing with rage and swiped a pair or razor sharp claws at Keldava, scoring them across the puppy's ear, sending a slurry of confused thoughts tumbling through her mind, most prominent was: rabbits aren’t supposed to have claws! Keldava tumbled backwards, a high pitched squeal of pain echoing through the forest as the strange and scary animal stalked forwards, mouth open and hissing to show a deadly looking set of teeth. All Keldava could do was sit there and whimper, too scared to run.
