Sarcophilous

Appearance

Sarc is formed from mixed ancestry; though predominantly showing through wolven traits. Charcoal hues are what primarily canvas his bodice, with hints of light earthen tones giving way only in the light of the sun. His locks are matted and dreaded, with random portions of his body lacking fur and instead holding scars of several varieties. The worst of his visible deformities seems to come from his mask, which is torn and tattered, easily differentiating himself from a younger self. The most common feature he still has from his youth, however, is his heterechromia. Vibrant, celeste and glaucous shades over take his left orb, giving forward a piercing glance of polemomania and general irrationality. On the opposing side of his features sit gently a titian, luteous hue that replay a wisdom recycled from his elders. He maintains a stocky build and often times has little grace to accompany his age, dawdling with a haggard and decrepit motion.
Behind velveteen lips rest canines of citron shades, broken and tainted from age and the lessons of life which can only be learned from experience. Resting above his everlasting grimace sits jewellery of bone, slid gently through his carved nostrils. Other bone decorations adorn themselves through his coyote like ears, with different widths for each. Three piercings lay upon his right side, while two upon his left. Modifications of other varieties mark his stomach, face and paws, though typically difficult to notice either due to immense amounts of scar tissue or fur. Of these ink enhancements are bind runes, predominantly across his stomach, as well as Ginfaxi across his foot, and Óttastafur across his face.

Personality

It is difficult to dictate exactly how Sarcophilous is. Like the wild contrast across his face, many times he is over come by conflicting pieces of himself, much alike that of Steppenwolf. For the most part, he only permits his apathy to shine through and very little takes liking to anger, depression, or joy. He is never to be found in futile rage, neither on his knees in the agonizing moments of life. Sarcophilous tells himself many a time that he has no desire to be interacted with, but as with most creatures of his species, cannot resist yearning for the social interaction that is built within his nature. This, often times, is where conflict arises. While he is persistent on pushing away others, he only further becomes detrimental to himself through his stubborn and bitter nature. His will is becoming weakened, and eventually, Sarcophilous will have to give in to the company of others, which he seems to fear more than he dislikes it. The only social encounter he could perhaps enjoy is spreading his false wisdom, formulated by years of loneliness and misanthropy. His knowledge and survival is all that he may pride himself in, acquired from a lifetime long gone.

Biography

His past is not one to be discussed so often, but when it comes about one can see the glint of contentment so rare upon Sarcophilous' face. Some time ago, his family had come from a northern land, bringing with them only their loved ones and their readings with them. In each piece of literature there seemed to be a variety of subjects, though most covered religions of the Nordic world, alongside a few Germanic and Slavic writings that Sarc seldom read. The brute was born in Canada, however, knowing both his guardians for only a short period of time. His father was of pure blood, with a coat as black as the coals of hell and eyes as shining as gold in the fire. He was a calming presence, preaching of gods with a belief as strong as his brute build. His mother, on the other hand, was a mutt of nature born also in the land that Sarc had awoken in. She was composed of survivalist coyotes and lonesome wolves. Her dictatorship over her offspring was both demanding and forceful, as she often scoffed at the literature her mate had praised while teaching her young only of the bitterness of the world. She often times tricked and tortured them as if to put forward a lesson of life they were said to have to experience at some point or another. This wild differentiation between his progenitors eventually lead to conflict of many violent sorts, until his father had been cast into oblivion and a world only composed of desolation, solitude and heartache. Sarc's siblings were all very much alike their mother, following suit her attempts of advancement, carelessness and rising social hierarchy. Sarcophilous, on the other hand, too much reminded the bitch of his father, and was cast out for that very reason. Other than taking obvious physical traits from his sire, he was desperately attached to the stories he had often times been presented by his one sane kin. Though he never took them so literally as his father, he faced a lifetime of belittlement and condescension from his mother's devilish offspring. After many a year of torture, both physical and mental, he had been cast away by the only family he had. Through his lifetime he attempted to re-attach himself to other beings, but it seemed there was one thing that his mother had taught him well; trust no one.

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
