A Full Moon Favour
#1
(WC: 840 -- The moon fueled my muse, don't feel obligated to read it all if you don't want to! )

It was coming up on her second night being a member of the New Dawn pack. The yearling was sitting just outside of the den, up on a rock cropping where her Alpha had jumped up onto the previous night when he'd brought her to the den. Her multi-coloured head was turned up, nose pointing at the great glowing orb in the sky. It was a full moon tonight, the glow sending thousands of glittering crystal lights across the snow covered ground. Ciara was thinking on her past full moon, and how things had changed so much since that month long ago.

She'd been alone then, struggling through her first winter. The wilderness of southern New Brunswick was not kind to a wolf barely older than a pup. She'd been using the light of the moon to guide her way across a steep, snow-covered landscape when she'd stumbled upon the bear's den. It had looked like a nice place to sleep for the night, and her nose was so cold that she'd barely registered the scent of the predator inside. Finding a spot far enough inside the den, just so the wind wasn't coming in and lashing at her, Ciara had curled herself up and stuck her nose into the warm fur of her bushy tail. She'd just closed her flecked brown and golden eyes when an ear-splitting roar had filled the cavern of the den. With a yelp and a quick jump, she'd ran out just in time for the bear to chase after her. Luckily, her legs had grown a little longer and used to running, and she was able to glide over the snow due to her light weight while the bear had stumbled. It had been a close call, and she'd lifted her head to the moon and let loose a rare, solitary howl, thanking whatever gods might be watching over her.

Her eyes had become clouded during her reminiscing, and she shook her shaggy head once to clear her thoughts. She was no longer on her own, she had a pack and a family now, even though she'd met so few of them. Leaping down off the rock before the Alpha could come and growl at her for taking his throne of sorts, Ciara took off for the river she'd become accustomed to taking drinks from. It was beside that river that she came upon a spot that smelled like a pack member, even while it wasn't a scent she recognized. She closed her eyes, trying to think, and then realized that this must be the Omega she hadn't met. She hadn't seen him around the den, and hadn't seen him sharing any food with the other pack members. The young wolfess had sensed a sort of tension in the air, and came to the conclusion that he must be in some kind of trouble.

She set out after dipping her tongue once into the river, and slunk low to the ground, quickly picking up on the scent of a rabbit. It was unusual for the rodents to be out at this time of night, scurrying across the snow far from their burrows, but it made for an easy hunt for the yearling. Within moments of a chase, her jaw had closed around a particularly chubby hare, and a jerk of her head snapped its neck easily to give it a quick end. She didn't like hurting anything, really, which seemed strange to her for a predator.

Carefully arranging the rabbit in her mouth, Ciara set out on the trail of the Omega, following his stale scent away from the den, further away than she'd ever been before. She spotted a tree right against the border and glanced around, finding no sign of the male anywhere. Quickly, she began to tear at the frozen ground with her sharp, tough claws. Flecks of frozen dirt flew over her head, landing in her pelt and around her hind legs, until eventually she'd dug a suitable cache for her present. Fitting the rabbit's carcass within the hole, she then covered it up and dipped her head down, rubbing her nose in the dirt to cover the place with her scent. If her plan went right, the Omega would smell the scent of the pack there and dig, then find his little meal.

She couldn't help but feel sorry for him, even though she had no idea what he'd done or if he really was in trouble like she thought. She'd been alone for so long, but it had been easier to deal with for her. She'd been alone due to chance, not out of the choice of anyone. If this male was trapped within the New Dawn territory and left alone, knowing his pack members were so close and yet untouchable, her heart ached for him. She would bring him small, secret gifts, she resolved, hating to think of this brother she'd never met starving.

She didn't realize that she could get in trouble for helping him.

The life of the Omega was lonely, how own mother wanted nothing to do with him, well that part was fine. After being told that he was no Tal, the snowy white male that mirrored her in looks. It was clear after that, that his brother was her favored child. That killed him inside, she told the silver Omega that because he did not want to take her side, that he was taking his father’s side. That wasn’t the way he thought. He did not want to take either side. Frankly the silver male thought and will always think that they both had their own faults as to why it didn’t work out.

The male could smell the fresh kill, his mouth watered, begging for a taste of the kill. He knew though to steal the kill would be lashings, well more lashings. Though to beg was rude, the male felt his stomach grow and roar for food. It had been moons since he had more than a mouse or two.
The male rolled to his three paws, as he moved with ease to where he could smell the kill, he was begging for a look to see what lucky being that was able to say they had the honor of the kill. Seeing the female and the rabbit the male moved trying and not foolish enough to get to close, he watched her. Like the well behaved dog that he was, he laid down quickly. To show that he was not going to try to steal the meal away from her. The male watched her, his eyes going from the rabbit to the female. Not trying to make any eye contact with her.

He knew the pack was ordered to turn a cold shoulder onto him, and he did not want any one take that anger from the leader that he had. The silver male licked his lips, but would wait for the female to step away from the fresh kill before he made his move.

(WC: 320)

Frankly, Ciara was surprised to see the Omega there. She'd thought to leave the kill for him and be gone by the time he returned to what appeared to be his tree. Her ears perked forward curiously, and her tail gave a whish of a sound as it began to wag uncertainly. Carefully, she moved back to where she'd buried the rabbit, and began to dig it back up. When the white coat of the hare was uncovered she pulled it delicately from the cache and set it back on the frozen ground.

"Hi," came her voice, a sing-song melody speaking of innocence and youth. "My name is Ciara, we're pack-mates now." Her muzzle broke into a smile and her tongue lolled out of her mouth. She didn't know that she was supposed to hold a more dominant posture over this male, so her body language was relaxed, curious, and friendly. Her brown and golden-flecked gaze took in the sight of the snowy, tattered looking male, and she instantly felt sorry for him when he lowered his eyes and body. She could hear his stomach growling, and sense his eagerness for the food.

Delicately, she brought her nose to the ground and pushed the rabbit towards him, bringing the rodent scuffling across the snow-covered ground until it was directly in front of his snout. "I brought this for you," she said, not knowing that she wasn't supposed to be interacting with him at all. "I figured you were hungry. Why haven't you been eating with the pack?"

With a curious tip of her head, Ciara moved forward and licked the top of the older male's snout gently. Her tail was still moving in a soft, happy rhythm, and as she grew more comfortable in the male's presence she lowered herself down to flop lazily in front of him, resting her head on her crossed paws.

"Are you going to eat it?" Once again, her tone was soft, and as sweet and young as she was.

Sorry he's such a jerk. Inherent Omega issues. XD

Shandom had been pacing, lost in contemplative thought, and drawn to the brightness of the moon. It felt strange for him to stay inside the den on a night such as this; there was something magical and ancient about this cool winter night, and the Qi'Vaex man was compelled to spend as much time outside as possible. Tonight was one in which he was stuck in the past, though that wasn't a particularly rare occasion. His birthday was drawing close, which meant Lea's was as well - they were twins under the eyes of the Gods, though born to separate mothers. He wondered what she did to celebrate her birthday; Shandom himself did nothing, and viewed it almost as a hated date. Nothing was the same without his lovely sister, including birthdays. No, in the early days of March Shandom's thoughts were entirely consumed by the ebony murderer, evil though she was.

Sometimes, when he was being particularly unwise, Shandom blamed Aylienne, the hated Etienne Omega, for Lea's insanity. The first time her imbalance truly took over the sweet personality was when she attacked Aylienne. Ironically, it was over him - Lea had been defending her brother's honor when the Omega's bastard daughter said such horrible things about him. If he were being honest, he never actually found out what specifically Aylienne said, but from Lea's reaction he assumed it was something terrible and hateful. She was so protective of those she loved, so maternal - if she had been given the chance, the dark female would have raised dozens of wonderful children to maturity, and they would have made a great different in Etienne. Perhaps, even, they could have changed the entire course of the pack.

The white man didn't want to think about that, though, and lost himself in happier times. But the memories in which he immersed himself were now tainted with the thought of Omegas and what horrible power they could actually have over the course of fate; if not for Helene, if not for Aylienne, there would not be these problems. Perhaps Lea wouldn't have snapped; perhaps she wouldn't have become a recluse first. There were so many "what ifs", so many triggers that might have changed the path of history, and Shandom's dormant but fiery temper threatened to flare up within him. His pace, which was taking him in an entire random direction, quickened, and he soon recognized the scent of the Omega and the newcomer, Ciara. What's she doing with him? Shandom murmured aloud to himself, eyes narrowed in confusion and distaste. Not another Omega-lover...

His worries were made true, however, when he heard the girl offering the three legged man something to eat. A loud, dangerous snarl ripped from the man's black lips - how could she be so stupid? Certainly, she was young, and new to the pack - but these were the ways of the Wolf, something inherently obvious and hopefully ingrained in all creatures. Shandom was aware that his place was not to punish Ciara, and he wouldn't, but the girl needed to be aware of the rules and hierarchy of the pack. He wasn't sure if she'd been at the meeting when Zalen announced the banishment. He hasn't been eating with us because he has been banished, Ciara, for trespassing on Ichika no-Hoen's lands, a grievous crime that could have brought not only shame to New Dawn, but great danger. Come away from him, please - he is an Omega, the lowest of the low, and has done nothing to deserve your kindness.

Shandom felt no pity for the silver man. He was unfamiliar with Noah, and while he knew him to be pack family, had no allegiances to make the scarred man change his general feelings about the Omega rank. His stance was dominant, though no more than would be appropriate for his rank, but his eyes were dangerous; if the Omega stepped out of line, perhaps to force the girl to stay, Shandom would surely intervene.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in as well!

The sable Beta had had a long day, she had been overseeing the cleaning out of the den, making sure that it was neat and fit to be slept in, clearing out the bones of carcasses that had been brought into the den and the like. But now she was out for one of her usual strolls around the lands, something which she did often, she was a creature of habit and she liked her evening walks where she would scout the borders, making sure that the scent markers were in place and lining the borders with small stones in places where they were not so obvious, allowing Zalen or young Titania to scent them when they came to them. Soran had never been overtly territorial until the war in Crimson Dreams, that had changed everything for the dark pelted matriarch, now she saw territory as one of the most important things a pack could have, something that should be defended and monitored on a daily basis. So she had finished her rounds of the lands for the night and was heading back to the den, back to the place where she slept with her adoptive son and daughter-in-law and her beloved Deuce; who she would shift specially for, just so that she could tuck the pale beauty in within her limbs and snuggle against her; but these thoughts were disturbed by other voices. There was a snarl and for a moment the dark female's ears flattened against her skull, was something terrible happening? But soon enough she caught two familiar scents, her stepson and current Omega Noah's and the pale male Shandom, who she had met previously at the pack meeting, something which seemed to be an age ago. The sable female's ears quickly returned to their usual position and she quickened her pace, the limp which had been present when she had arrived here was all but gone now, only the occasional slip making it painful, but the dark female moved through the small layer of snow with her usual huntress' grace. Soon enough she arrived at the scene, to see what seemed to be a newcomer; clearly a pack member, but young and inexperienced and very new to the lands being chastised by Shandom for feeding Noah. The dark female shifted her body into a shape of authority, her dark tail held high and her ears erect as she walked into the area.

The Beta padded slowly, her heart breaking for her silver pelted stepson who seemed to have failed in his mother's eyes, to the sable Beta he would always be capable of wonder, but Deuce had taken a hard route when disciplining him this time. As the ebony pelted matriarch arrived she let out a sharp snarl, showing that she was the dominant one here and that she would not be taken lightly.
"Shandom, can you not see that this girl has disposed of her meal, choosing that she is too full to eat it?" The dark lady snapped, looking at the pale male.
"There is no rule against Noah, our Omega, scavenging discarded food, the only issue would be if it were a gift, but clearly it is not." Soran paused and winked at Ciara with these words, showing that she knew just what she was up to, but that she was willing to let it slide this time.
"Besides, what good is he to the pack if he starves to death? Hardly a good invitation for newcomers or for anyone that attempts to take these lands by force, they will assume that we are not competent enough even to feed our own." She finished, before softening once more, her face changing, her stance becoming less dominant, showing that she wished less submission from those below her in the ranks.
"It is good to see you again Shandom, I am sorry if you feel that I have scolded you, I just felt it was best to get this situation cleared up as soon as possible. And welcome to you newcomer," here the dark female turned to Ciara, "as you have been told Noah is currently the Omega and so is not allowed to sleep inside, nor eat with us, it would do you well not to integrate with him too heavily until he has once again proved himself to be useful to us. I am Soran Aatte, I am your Beta wolf here." The sable female smiled as she introduced herself, maintaining her stance of dominance, although the motherly female had much softened it, she did not want to scare the young girl. Finally the dark female turned, "greetings to you as well Noah, I trust that you will eat your fill of this discarded meal and then take your place away from the bed chambers." She spoke these words firmly as she looked at the pale silver male, though it was clear that the Beta's heart was not in it, after all he was her stepson and she loved him dearly; just to have Deuce's blood running in his veins was enough for her to love him as hopelessly as she did her own children, no matter what crimes they committed. Still she had to uphold the law, and she knew he had broken it most terribly, she was the Beta and she had to stay a figure of law in these lands, even if it hurt her to do so, she had to remind herself what troubles he might have caused whenever she looked at him, that way she could easily chastise him.

Word Count :: 650

I had written the first two and a half paragraphs last night, so Soran’s entrance is perfect! Thanks for joining! I was gonna wait for Noah but figured I’d post this instead of having one huge post later, haha.

Tawny, black-rimmed ears pinned back against her head when she heard that feral, angry snarl. She’d fully expected to turn and see the large Alpha wolf behind her, glaring down on her from those strange, apple-green eyes he had. Slowly, tail dropping down to hug her legs; she turned around to see the scar-faced subordinate Shandom. She’d briefly met him playing with the pup Holly, and he’d seemed nice enough at the time. Now his voice was dripping with contempt, and she flicked her golden-flecked gaze back to the handicapped Omega for a split second as the older pack brother spoke. Even as Shandom explained why Noah was not allowed to feast with them, she still felt sorry for him, and at the comment regarding Omegas as being lowest of the low her temper flared.

She turned fully around with a whirl to face Shandom, ears flicking up to a stance that was dominant while not over assuming. Her tail rose to a parallel level and she let out a growl before thinking about it. “We can’t just let him starve, Shandom,” she snarled back, “surely our Alpha never sentenced him to death.” One hind leg reached behind her and kicked the rabbit a little closer to the Omega, so he could take it and run if needed. She knew that she shouldn’t be yelling at an elder, especially one that held the same rank as she did, though at the same time she was newer to the pack and something told her that was even worse.

After initially defending Noah, she only took a split second to realize that she wasn’t exactly making a good start at being friends with the scarred, alabaster male in front of her. Slowly, her ears lowered out of their somewhat aggressive pose and she took on the stature of an apologetic wolf, head dipping lower than the male’s. “I’m sorry for yelling,” she said softly, earth-coloured eyes directing at the ground in regret. “I just…--“

...she was interrupted by another throaty snarl. With a quick glance behind Shandom, Ciara saw another black figure approaching and immediately dropped onto her belly, thinking it was Zalen at first. Then, she let her nose do its work, and picked up the scent of an unknown female. The woman’s stance was dominant, and as she snapped at Shandom Ciara kept her ears pinned back to her head and her tail tucked, making herself small and expecting to be yelled at next.

Then, she realized what the woman was doing. She was helping Noah! Ciara’s muzzle broke into a grin at the woman’s wink, a grin she hoped Shandom couldn’t see – truthfully, the male scared her a little. When Soran introduced herself as the Beta, and informed the yearling more gently of the situation with Noah, Ciara let out a tiny apologetic whimper and moved forward, gently tipping her head up and licking the underside of the Beta’s snout.

“Alright, Mrs. Beta, ma’am,” she said, instantly feeling foolish afterwards. Her skin turned red beneath her thick fur and she dropped her eyes again. Even though the woman was gentle, and Ciara could instantly tell that she liked her, she was still the Beta and Ciara was a lowly subordinate. She was merely happy that Soran was going to let Noah keep his food, so she nodded at the suggestion to keep away from him.

When Soran had finished speaking, Ciara slowly allowed herself to stand, making sure never to raise her head level or above the Beta’s. “I’m Ciara, by the way,” she said gently. “It’s nice to finally meet another girl in the pack.” She allowed a sheepish grin to break on her muzzle then, and as custom with Ciara and new pack-mates, she reached across and delicately licked the Beta’s cheek, very happy the sable wolf had shown up.

Poor Shannon XD

This was absolutely, incredibly, bafflingly, unbelievable.

First, the newcomer - Ciara - began to defend herself and her absolutely (in his mind) inexcusable actions. Shandom did not see any facet of this particular situation in which he was stepping out of rank; it was the duty of older wolves to help the younger when it came to hierarchy and the natural ways - that was the way it had been for years and years, and he planned to do whatever he could to maintain that tradition. Perhaps the alabaster man had been wrong in assuming Ciara was ignorant of the ways of the wolf - perhaps, she was, unfortunately, just flying in the face of them, and the orders of the Alpha. That was irritatingly unbelievable in and of itself, but before Shandom could open his exceptionally annoyed lips to try and talk sense into the yearling, another snarl ripped the air.

Naturally, it was a wolf ranked higher than he - Soran, from the scent, and he could tell when she arrived. Shandom folded his body into a submissive position, keeping his tail tucked and ears flat against his head with his body low to the ground, though not completely on his belly. He knew the woman to be the stepmother of Noah - mate to Deuce, a strange relationship he'd never quite understood - and hadn't seen much of her around since the pack's conception. Regardless, he respected her wisdom and saw her as a just being; why else would Zalen select her as his Betess? He was prepared, of course, to explain the situation to her (with proper justification for his assertive body language and actions), until she, in an even stranger turn of events than he could have imagined, began to chastise him! Shandom was, to say the least, entirely shocked and taken aback at the entire proceedings. Was he wrong in assuming that the Omega of a pack, especially when said Omega was being punished, was to be treated as such? A lowly creature who could have caused a war between two packs was being defended. This was entirely ridiculous.

His face, however, remained passive, and did not betray the drastic plummet of respect that was currently coursing through his body. Soran was proving herself weak and rather incompetent, at least in the white man's personal opinion - he would have to talk with her at a later date about this, because these actions were completely ridiculous. She had just abjectly humiliated him in front of a pack member for obeying the orders of the Alpha - it literally made no sense, and Shandom was furious. But he would not vocalize his opinion in this setting - that was incredibly rude - and instead kept his posture submissive and quiet for several more moments while she finished. Of course, Betess, Shandom murmured, eyes downcast. I apologize if I have offended you in any manner. I was simply behaving as I thought the Alpha Zalen commanded, and ensuring that Ciara, who is new to the pack and does not yet know our ways, understands our culture. His words were apologetic honey; there wasn't a trace of the raging bitterness that now coursed through his veins. He paused for a brief moment, and then straightened a bit, holding himself in a rather neutral pose. It is a pleasure to see you again as well, Soran. I hope you are well, and Deuce.

The white man was intelligent enough to know that he would need to speak with Soran at some point about this. His first thought was to go to Zalen about it and inform him that his Beta wolf was acting in a most inappropriate manner, but Shandom was rational. It would be better to discuss with the older fae her reasoning, and if he did not find it adequate, perhaps then he would seek an audience with his Alpha. The Qi'Vaex was better acquainted with Titania, of course, and if he came across the young Alphess he would speak with her, but Zalen had been the one to give the initial order.

He lingered for a moment, not quite sure what to do in the situation. He felt strange and out of place.

Once again the male had found him-self in trouble, he smelt the kill and was just waiting on the female to finish before he took whatever she left, was that not how the pack system worked? The members ate there share and then once they walked away it was fair game for the Omega?

It wasn’t hard for any one that knew him before he joined this pack that his mind set was different, he was become frightened of his own shadow. He felt like he was to be the shadow of the pack, he was not to be seen, talked to, or even caught around the pack members. The silver male jumped when she came down to lick his maw, the last touch he had felt was the powerful jaws of the black leader coming down on him, then he felt his paw pushing him though the mud. That was the last touch he had. Noah was trying to do his best by staying out of every one’s way, and he was not foolish enough to take a spot in the den till the leaders told him he was allowed to. The male allowed a soft sway of his tail, ”Noah…” The male spoke softly.

Hearing the snarl the silver male yelped as he moved back ward, he did not mean to push what little luck that he had in the pack, he just was going to wait on her to finish the meal and then take whatever was left, eat it and then head back to his little make shift sleeping area he had made.

”He’s right…I’m banned from b…b…being a part of the p…p…pack, while I’m n…n..not allowed to leave the lands e…e..e..either.” The male stood upon his three legs as he stepped back again, making sure not to lift his body to high. The male feared what this white male would do to him. He was scary…part of him made him think of Lucifer, short tempered ill willed, everything about him seemed like the black father that locked him away in a room for days at a time so that he would be able to go and play with the white wolves in the lands.

Having the black lady come, she stepped up and with her power and grace that seemed to come from her, the female pulled the only being to show him any tenderness beside the grey and crimson hooded female leader since he had joined the pack. (He did not count Soran since she was a part of his mother’s live and the silver male wanted to stay far, far away from his mother) These warm and tender touches where something that he missed the most, followed very closely by food; since joining New Dawn.

The male was allowed to have the kill, though to the silver male it shifted, from his to the beta, and so without much more thoughts the silver male walked over to the kill and dropping at the black lady’s feet and moving back ever so quickly, he did not want to be faulted for not following the correct line of eating order.

That posting order if perfectly fine with me so long as it is fine with everyone else. And I hope that Soran hasn't offended Shandom too much, she's too kind sometimes XD

The sable female had the awful feeling that she had offended the scarred, white male that had first arrived at the scene. But she could not help it, ruling a land was a constant battle between the head and the heart and sometimes the heart won out, even when the head screamed that other action must be taken; Soran's problem was that she had a huge heart and a rather large soft spot for wolves younger than herself, she was the eternal mother and grandmother of everyone around her, whether they wanted her to be or not in some cases. Ciara seemed delighted with Soran's decision, grinning at the Beta wolf, the ebony pelted female replied with a small smile, it seemed that her words about where Noah stood in the pack seemed to sink in to the girl's head, this was good, it was true that she was new here, but she had to learn the rules and their laws, Soran knew full well that Shandom had been attempting to tell her this; and she did feel bad for having chastised him for doing so, he was simply trying to help. The young female padded forward and spoke to her, calling her Mrs. Beta which elicited a small chuckle from between the coal pelted lady's dark lips, she allowed the young girl to lick and her maw and returned the gesture with a single lick to the young girl's snout, showing that the affection was welcomed, but retaining her stance as the dominant wolf in this meeting. The older female's ears turned as Shandom spoke and she nodded.
Yes Shandom, I understand what you were attempting to do, it was the right thing, this girl is young and very new here, clearly, it is right to teach her the rules of the pack. I am grateful that she has someone looking out for her and is willing to explain that Noah is in disgrace at the moment. I am sure that Zalen will be pleased with your actions as well. You have not offended me at all, but Noah is permitted to any scraps that we might leave, if this girl has chosen for the whole rabbit to be scraps then I feel that she is permitted to leave it for Noah. So long as she does not make a habit of it. Soran replied, her voice much softer now, an apologetic tone running through it, at the last sentence she turned her head and gave Ciara a serious look, indicating that once was permitted, but repeated feeding of Noah could indeed get her into trouble.

The dark female smiled as Ciara introduced herself, another chuckle escaped her lips as she said it was nice to meet another girl.
I would hardly say that I was a girl anymore, but it is nice to be called one, it is a pleasure to meet you Ciara. She replied, then turned her head as Noah spoke, explaining his own position in the pack, the sable female nodded her head slowly, agreeing with what he said, it seemed that at least he knew how much he had endangered the pack. At that moment the silver furred male brought the rabbit forward, the dark lady watched him with careful green eyes as he did so, he dropped it at her feet. It seemed that he knew the order of eating in the pack, as a higher ranked wolf she was permitted to eat whatever she wanted of the rabbit, then it would be passed to Shandom, followed by Ciara, even though it seemed that the young girl had discarded the carcass. Soran looked down at the rabbit and sniffed it, it did smell pleasant, but the truth was that she had already eaten.
Thank you Omega, but I have eaten my fill already this day. Soran said, it was the truth, on her patrols of the borders she had found two plump rabbits and had eaten them, she was feeling very contented and full actually.
The rules here are to be obeyed Ciara, Noah is permitted to eat what we do not want, I am not hungry and so Shandom is permitted to take what he wants and then if your mind is set on not eating the rest then Noah may have it. It may seem harsh but Noah has disgraced himself and put this pack in danger and until he is redeemed in the leadership's eyes then this is the way it must be. Soran explained before dipping her dark head and picking up the rabbit carcass gently, she padded to Shandom and placed it at his feet, she gave him a polite nod as she did so, showing that she knew that he was doing the right thing and was only attempting to help Ciara.

OOC: Post order is fine with me.

Ciara’s heart had nearly broken again, seeing Noah’s fear when Shandom made his growling, arrogant scene. She had been furious with the other subordinate for treating Noah harshly, but instantly felt bad for yelling at him. After she’d introduced herself to Soran, she’d gone quiet, listening to the Omega speak and admit his place in the pack. The young wolfess knew that it was not her place to argue, and certainly not her place to go against the rules of the pack. Therefore, when the Beta repeated what she was not to do, the young subord pinned her ears back and lowered her gaze.

“Yes ma’am,” she said, keeping her earth-coloured hues trained on the frozen ground beneath her paws. With her snout tingling from Soran’s lick to her snout, she watched as Noah moved and placed the rabbit at the ebony female’s paws. Her heart clenched, and she silently prayed the older female wouldn’t want the gift she’d brought Noah. When the female denied the food, Ciara visibly relaxed. She nodded her multi-coloured head in an agreement. She would follow the rules from now on.

When Soran brought the rabbit to Shandom, Ciara grew nervous. Her small body tensed and her ears perked forward apprehensively. She felt as though she’d disrespected the older male, and wondered for a moment if he would eat the rabbit purely out of spite. Before she knew what she was doing, the young wolf had stood up and was moving towards Shandom. She sat down quickly, keeping her distance from the rabbit to show that she wasn’t going to try to take it from him. She licked her lips nervously as her eyes glanced into that of the Qi’Vaex male.

“I’m sorry for yelling at you, sir,” she spoke softly. Her apology was sincere even though the timing might seem otherwise. She truly felt bad for yelling at him when he was only trying to help, even if he was harsh. “I realize you were trying to help and I thank you. I promise I won’t go against pack law again.” She pinned her ears back then, lowering her head and hoping the older man would accept her apology. She hadn’t wanted him to get yelled at, and she certainly hadn’t wanted to put Noah in the uncomfortable position he was in now. She’d only been trying to do something nice, and possibly make friends with the silvery Omega.
