OOC turn into mini selene/hadley plot?

Selene dropped her sword, causing Hadley to tense up. They were both defenseless now if this killer decided to strip them bare. Deciding he'd give Selene a chance to run if the monster before them turned nasty Hadley distanced himself a little from her, nudging her affectionately first. He didn't want her to think that he didn't like her when he did. He just needed to be able to buy time in case the beast snapped, and he couldn't do that very well if Selene was glued to his side. He eyed the sword nervously, wondering if it would be able to increase his chances at all.

The black wolf remained friendly, though Hadley shrunk in fear as he reached for them. He took the wolf's hand gingerly, letting it be pumped before the beast turned back into the night, walking away. Sighing he sank into the ground. He was gone. Hadley wouldn't be killed, and Selene was safe. Curling up like a child he silently vowed that he would never leave the territory again. There were too many dark creatures out there, ready to destroy him. No, it was best that he just stayed here, preferably in his room with no one to make him scared.
