Curious Caller

Fatin Nejem had heard about this merchant/art-based pack in the south when she had come to the area when she was in Freetown and was trying to figure out where she would fit in. She had even considered joining there. That was until she heard about Ichika no Ho-en. Then she had decided to join that pack instead. But she had always been curious about Cercatori d’Arte. But had never had a reason to visit there.

Until about a week ago when a loner had happened upon her and told her that the pack was building a boat of all things and was inviting canines to see the boat. Having grown up at a port-city, the city of Istanbul, Fatin knew a little bit about boats. Not much, mostly about how beautiful they could get. Her own father, a shah, had a fleet of boats and she spent some time on them. So she had told Asad and asked if he wanted to come with. He declined and told her to have fun. Fatin didn’t need his permission to do stuff but knew that he appreciated knowing where she was.

Which is what led her to the borders of Cercatori d’Arte after a ride of over a day. Fatin paused at the border not knowing what to do. She knew that it was considered polite to both wait until someone came or to call for someone. Aziz was a little antsy at her waiting and she gently but firmly pulled on his reins. She decided to call and did so, settling back on her horse’s back to wait patiently for someone to answer her call.

Dara had been anxious for people that wanted to see the boat to arrive. She, herself, wanted to greet them and welcome them. She had high hopes, and wanted to possibly establish good relations with packs that were a great distance away.

She had been lounging around on the borders edge when she heard the call of one that was not her pack. The call was distant and, if she understood Skye correctly, loners and others of different packs were to be allowed in to. So she decided to see if this was a visitor for the boat. She was in her Optime form, and knowing her fast form was her Optime form, she ran, jumping bushes and dodging trees, eager to greet the new person. She slowed down as she came close to the place she knew that the call had come from.

She walked slowly into the area and saw the newcomer. "Welcome, I am Dara Silver Moon, and you are? Are you hear to view the boat?" Dara asked trying to keep her voice calm but she couldn't hide the excitement in her voice. She tail was swaying in small rapid swings, showing her obvious overjoyed demeanor.

Her call for someone was soon in coming, for which she was very grateful. The woman that greeted her was definitely part of this pack, Cercatori d’Arte. Fatin could tell that and the fact that she was fairly new to the pack. But Fatin herself was rather new to the area and had nothing against the female.

She gave a friendly smile and a polite bow of the head. ”Hello, Dara. My name is Fatin Nejem and I’m from Ichika no Ho-en.” She had to smile at the female’s enthusiasm and apparent eagerness to please. It made her quite happy. ”I am here for the boat. I lived in a port-city and my father owned several boats.” She could picture her father lounging on one of his prize boats. He was slightly lighter than she was.

She might as well explain why she wanted to see the boat a bit more. ”I mostly wish to see how different your boat might be from the ones that I’ve seen. Also, I was curious about the pack that I had considered joining.” She had seen many different styles of boats and missed seeing them pass by. But she didn’t know a lot about them, simply how they looked. She did know how different shapes made the ship go faster but little else.

Dara listened to the woman quite intently. Dara had a certain liking for this woman for considering joining her pack. "Well, welcome, Fatin. The boat is near Flanders's Field, toward the coast. I would be more than happy to escort you through the lands to the boat if you wish," Dara said with a slight bow.

She had thought about joining many packs, but Ichika no Ho-en was not one of them, though she was still curious to know about it. "If I may ask, what is your pack like? I have heard very little about it and I would love to hear more about it, if you please." Dara offered the topic with a bit more enthusiasm than she had planned but it was all the same in her mind.

"Also, do you know any foreign languages? I have a love of learning different languages. I am trying to be a Linguist in my pack, so the more I know the better," Dara said, almost as an afterthought, when thinking about her pack.

Fatin listened to where the boat was and made a mark on her mental map of where it was. She wasn’t planning on doing anything but it was helpful to know where things were. Dara soon offered to take her to see the boat and Fatin nodded. ”That would be great. Though is there a place that I should put my horse or should I let him come a long?” Aziz gave her a look that she took to mean that he didn’t want to be in with other horses.

Dara then asked about her pack and she grinned. ”Well it is very peaceful and peace loving. There are bits of religion but they are very welcoming of everyone and every belief. Though right now we are in transition into some sort of change. But I’m not sure what.” She let her shoulders give a slight shrug.

Then the other female asked if she knew any foreign languages and Fatin gave a light laugh. ”Yes, I know several. My two main languages are English and Arabic. I also know Turkish, Coptic, and a little bit of numerous other languages. I can also read Egyptian hieroglyphs. I could teach you some Arabic if you like in exchange for you showing me the boat?” Her tail swayed behind her gently as she waited eagerly for Dara’s answer.
