Word Count → 000 :: early morning, quartz shoreline for hadley. <3

The russet girl's wanderings out of Inferni were all in good reason, lately she had the impression that others in Inferni had thought she was going out to sleep with other beings. That all had to be wrong, she was tied down with the mateship, and hey. Hurting Jacinto that was would simply be out of the question.  Most days the blue-eyed coywolf had time to think, dream and ponder over possibilities for the future.

It was a little disappointing the way her mate was distancing himself from his family, avoiding visits and neglecting them all, it really made the young woman a little worried, he spent most of his time on his music. Family was important, even to the blue-eyed girl who had no known living blood members around. Omni wanted to cling to his family, feeling ease around his older brother Helotes, how the hybrid had so easily accepted her into the family. Jacinto had kept knowledge away from the hybrid, apparently Columbine had threatened them. She had been nervous after that, distancing herself from the dark coyote hybrid as much as she possibly could.

She had left the room early that morning, assuring Jacinto that she'd be back before after noon. She had saddled up Solei and set off wandering, having true time to think and conjure. Omni had drifted far from the safety of Inferni, nervous that something would jump out from the bushes at any moment. Places passed and went, mostly uninteresting places for the majority of the ride. Solei bumped every so often, stepping wearily over logs and small rocks.

Finally in a stupor of thoughts and aimless daydreaming, the petite coywolf came upon a beautiful shoreline with the slightest show of winter's touch. The brunette had a stunning urge to jump into the clear water, fortunately for the russet female, the undeniable cold of the water kept her from hightailing and simply splashing in. She had brought nothing for the trip but the horse and herself. Climbing off the back of her horse, she found a large rock to recline upon. It was long enough to fit the slim of her body, and heated just a little by the late winter sun. Omni wished for spring, for color and warmth. The winter would forbid that for a whole though, hopefully not for long.

OOC i just remembered-the last time they met hadley wasn't broken yet

He was starting to grow more bold in his wanderings, though he made sure that the borders remained close enough that he could easily run to them and find a nice safe place to curl up and hide in. He wandered past the borders, glancing over his shoulder every once in a while to make sure it hadn't managed to disappear in the short time that he'd left it. Part of him was still sure that Amy was out there, waiting for him to wander far enough to sweep him back up, reclaim him as hers. The torturous games weighed on him, the nightmares growing in intensity as his waking fear shrunk.

Moving along he found himself walking along the shore. The presence of the ocean seemed to calm him. It was always the same, so steady and predictable. It killed without differentiating between those of great worth and a lowly slave like him. That should have terrified him, but death lacked the fear it might have once held for him. After all, he had been through things that were much, much worse than a violent toss and the snap of his neck. Up ahead a brown figure lounged on the rock. The scent was rather familiar. Thinking it was Selene he moved forward, tail wagging despite his submissive hold. Realizing it wasn't Hadley halted, tail tucking between his legs. Dropping his head he looked around. Maybe he hadn't been noticed, and could retreat without disturbing her.

Selene had taken the time out of her day to think about things. The things itching at her for a long time, how Columbine hated her so and why he even did. She hadn't done anything to him before, and was trying to get on his good side. Things of the past seemed to be resurfacing as of late, nightmares tainting her sleep until the point where she wakes up terrified clinging to Jacinto. She hated being weak, it wasn't expected of the brown female in Inferni and gave her plenty of reasons to chastise and criticize. She had spent most of her time practicing the music skills Jacinto was trying so hard to teach her. She wasn't nearly as good as her Lykoi at playing, but he had told her, practice makes perfect.

The waves pushed softly against the rocks, luckily the weather was moderate and she had the advantage over doing things in the day with ease knowing the rain wouldn't dump all over her face. Movement behind her had her tall ears twitching, she turned back expecting her horse, her silly creeping horse wandering around, "Sol-Oh hey..." There was a man, definitely familiar until she realized and fitted the name to the stranger. "Hadley! Is that-is that you?" Omni remembered their encounter, how ashamed she was for being so promiscuous. But she wasn't that anymore, at least befriending him would be easier. Did he remember her? She sat up from the rock, peering down at his submissive form with concern. Maybe Amy was still around, maybe she should keep her eye out. "What's wrong?" The russet feya was genuinely concerned, she knew of how Amy had treated him long ago, and maybe she had broken his spirit. Slipping off her recline, Omni went to stand in front of the large hybrid, studying him over worriedly for anything bleeding or wrong.

OOC he needs to stop being such a perfect guy to flirt with

He hadn't been quiet enough. The contemplative female turned, noticing Hadley's presence. Timidly he looked away. The scent was familiar, but sorting through where he had picked up the scent was difficult. It took some time before he remembered, back before Amy truly shattered him, the night he'd spent with the beautiful hybrid before him. She had been kind, and very passionate, though that had ended with both of them in trouble. A smirk flitted across his face at the memory before disappearing back into the abyss.

Hadley nodded his head softly at her question. That was indeed who he was. Sorry for interrupting. His ears pricked slightly at her question before pinning to his skull at her approach. He hadn't done anything wrong he could think of. Wait, he had wandered away from the pack. Maybe she knew that, and was here to punish him for not behaving. It didn't make sense to anyone but the hybrid, full of fear. Remaining submissive he avoided her eyes. Nothing. I'm fine. He wished he still had the courage to touch her.

Word Count → 000 :: What did you mean in the Shadowfang post when you asked if it could be turned into a Selene/Hadley mini plot? And Omni's a weirdo

now look at me i'm sparkling

a firework
a dancing flame

Memories of that night floated dreamily through the hybrid's mind, how she had thought she had liked him that way, how she had wanted to tell him she'd get him far away from Amy. And she failed, the dream was broken and she had done something that had broken his spirit even more by walking away as if his life didn't matter.

Her last thoughts brought on a pang of guilt that struck the girl deep, turning her eyes away only to look back to listen to the large hybrid's words. She noticed the almost devilish smirk, much like the grin she had been given long ago. The dark haired Infernian gave a gentle smile in return before saying rather softly "No it's fine. You weren't in the way of anything." He seemed in almost better shape than the last time she had seen him, more mass and less open wounds. Amy's scent wasn't lingering in the fibers of his fur, and immediately she guessed that the golden slave master must not be involved anymore.

There was a part of her that still felt strange to this day, the attachment she tried to forge before Amy had frightened Hadley that night, they had locked eachother in strong arms...For once she felt something. Of course thinking these right now was despicable, knowing that she had Jacinto now. And Jacinto cared, over cared. And she couldn't afford to lose someone who knew her so well and looked past her flaws. Hadley's submissive form made the copper beauty frown in concern. What had Amy done? Selene managed a tiny smile, and hesitated before reaching out a hand. She clasped her petite hand in his and have a reassuring squeeze, before murmuring "It's good that you're well. Been a while eh?" A devilish and somewhat mischievous grin crossed over her face before Omni leapt to the rock she had been reclining on. The tide was swiftly coming in, soon to be up to her ankles in a few minutes.  "Dare me to jump in?" Now the water was beckoning, calling by slapping softly against some boulders. "And if I do, will you jump in with me? It's like a dare." It was an almost appalling request, but swimming and treading water was enjoyable. It would be like bringing back old times, but without the sex. They could keep their mischievous attitudes, but something told her Hadley wouldn't be as easy. Slowly, she moved towards the cold water and stepped in. Her eyes widened as the water soaked into her fur. Omni gave a giggle before calling back "It's cold!"

OOC here!

Hadley kept his eye on the ground, doing his best to remember that things had changed. He wasn't the rebellious soul he once was, ready to jump the first female who said hi to him, not drinking his days away. He was a slave now. He had no worth beyond what his master saw worthy to grant him. He'd learned that before he'd been a slave he'd been worth even less, and that weight still followed him. Omni's words encouraged him, letting him feel that maybe, just maybe, things were alright.

He jolted slightly as Omni touched him, eyes widening with fear. She didn't hurt him, just squeezed the hand softly before letting go. He nodded his head shortly before she pulled away, clambering onto the rock. Omni asked him to jump into the water with her, the tide already lapping at the rock. Without waiting for it she walked in. Shivering slightly he followed. The water was like an ice bath, drawing a gasp from him. He was immensely glad he didn't have any open wounds at the moment, or it would hurt a lot more. Shivering he waded over to Omni, standing nearby.

Omni faltered as she noticed Hadley shivering, she had realized her silliness to ask him to wade into the ocean with her. She liked it, but maybe he didn't. She motioned with one hand for the massive brujo to stay where he was, even go back to shore. She felt a tinge of guilt for leading him into the shallow water. In a way she felt like creature the myths of the siren, a woman of the sea beckoning men to come into the watery depths, using their feminine wiles to kill them. The myth made her feel sick, she'd never even dream of hurting another creature for pleasure and entertainment, there had to be a reason, she had to be provoked. She waded back in from the ocean, making her way back to Hadley. A small smile edged its way across her face as she walked past, careful not to slosh too much cold water at the hybrid man. As soon as her lithe legs hit the cool open air, away from the cool wet caress of the water, blue eyes scanned for some sort of dry wood. The Scorpio had plenty of matches and even a lighter in the saddlebag on Solei, the only things she had thought useless for this expedition. The girl noticed the way he had avoided her eyes, seeming much more submissive that he had been before. Sympathy and guilt for what she had done, left him behind with Amy when she could have gotten him safely far away...Had costed him this."Hadley...I'm so sorry...I could have saved you, prevented all that harm...And I only thought about myself." She shivered almost pitifully in the cold, after her foolish plight and ways of strange. Omni proved she wasn't worthless, gathering some dry twigs and branches, setting them afire before their eyes. "I could have done so much to help you." Tilting her muzzle down, she added "And I didn't...I feel so bad."

OOC here!

His reaction must not have been very satisfactory as he was gestured to return to the shore. Hesitating Hadley followed after Omni, careful to remain respectful. She was very beautiful, like a princess in the tales he used to hear, and so spirited as well. It was hard to believe that he'd once considered himself worthy of her touch, had worked to make her glow and cry out beneath him. The worst part was the fact that part of him still wished for that moment to return, knowing that even thinking such a thing was a dreadful thing for him to do. Unbidden Selene's soft trusting eyes flew into his mind. It was silly.

Seeing her crouch around for wood sparked the large hybrid into action. It didn't take long for him to gather a decent pile of driftwood. He set it down next to the small blaze she had started and carefully fed it, allowing the fire to grow larger. Omni spoke, and his soft brown eyes met hers. An apology? There didn't seem to be any need for that, at least in his mind. I wasn't good. His words were emotionless, carrying no tone of bitterness or sorrow, as if stating a fact. You are good. You are... Hadley found himself at a loss to describe her, knowing that simply complimenting her appearance wasn't enough, and lacking the words to say how he saw her as a person.

Word Count :: 000Omni is playing a dangerous game... >.>

Omni watched almost guiltily at the soul she had involuntarily broken. Shin a way the girl longed to reach out and hold the man close, to take back everything that happened. But of course she couldn't. There was Jacinto, who trusted Omni with everything he had. She couldn't hurt him. She couldn't pull Hadley to her, it was life and life was unfair. This necessarily didn't mean that she was unhappy with her mate back in Inferni, in other words she was content to live with her Lykoi, she felt a spark for the ginger and tawny hybrid. But what about Hadley? Was there still something there? In the midst of her confusion Hadley began to speak. She shook her head slowly as he spoke, of disobeying Amy and being not good. "You didn't deserve that..." Blue eyes flickered with denial, but switched to awkward as he tried to describe her. Having no idea what to say, she gently placed a light hand on his shoulder. "I feel like I ruined everything...I should be the one punished, not you." Again her vivid blues searched for any sign of Amy, despite the lack of her scent upon Hadley. But searching and sifting through scents, there was another one. A deep spicy scent of another female. That sounded promising, that there was another woman there for Hadley, she couldn't do much now, Omni couldn't take him up in a deep hug. It would simply be deceiving to the other woman, same with the Jacinto issues.

Her hand gently slipped away, her only means of comfort to the large multihued man. Her gaze tuned to the flickering fire, almost similar to the one she had made a while ago, by Amy's wagon. There was a knot of guilt deep within the young Infernian's stomach, how the night had been so passionate, all because she let herself go. Shaking her head to clear everything, Omni quietly asked "Where do you live now? I don't seem to register Amy anymore." Brows perked in interest, there definitely was other scents clinging vaguely to Hadley, maybe he was still a slave. Maybe the scent of the other woman was a new master. Maybe she hurt him just as much as Amy. The very thought made large ears press against her skull, afraid to think of her friend hurt once again. With a shaky voice, the tawny vixen asked again. "Do they hurt you?" Finally she had to shuffle closer, blue orbs worried and concerned.

Your heart is full of broken dreams. Just a fading memory, And everything's gone but the pain carries on. Lost in the rain again, When will it ever end. The arms of relief seem so out of reach

OOC here!

A light hand touched Hadley, eliciting a jump from him. He stared wide eyed at Omni as she spoke. Hadley had deserved the punishment in his mind, twisted to the point where he believed everything Amy had told him, despite his fear. Hearing that she felt like she should have been punished Hadley shook his head wordlessly. Nobody deserved what Amy had done. He'd take the injuries again if it would stop Omni from looking so helpless.

The loss of her touch was the same as a knife slicing through his skin, leaving him exposed to what was around him. He shivered slightly before she talked again. Gently Hadley lifted his head, staring out at the chilly ocean that had embraced them so recently. The warmth of the fire removed the chill, though remnants of salt would probably be found through his fur tomorrow. Casa. Not hurt anymore. Omni moved closer, and Hadley leaned into her, letting the past brush his fear away.

Hadley

[html]
Word Count :: 000she is the most confused person evar

It was difficult to not feel pain for what could be. There was always that possibility that they could have been lovers, could have shared a life. But of course, Amy's grasp on the large man's life made sure that never happened, which of course was most shameful. Any passerby could mistake the pair before the fire as lovers, though reality seemed to make that so untrue.  As her damp body was gently pulled close and Hadley leaned on her, the girl didn't struggle or fight against the mottled hybrid, but rather leaned back, traitorously comforted by the soft gesture.

But something seemed wrong about it, she could see the flashes of Jacinto's face in her mind, his fiery eyes whispering betrayal. What would the woman she had scented on the pelt of Hadley? Would it be the same as her own situation? Omni had come in the way of relationships before, unfortunately there seemed to be two at jeopardy under her hands. Her own with Jacinto, and the probable one with Hadley and the woman. Softly she pulled away, a little guilty. Yet a hand lay itself gently over one of his own, looking down Omni whispered "I can't do this I can't hurt him...He'd think-" She spoke softly of Jacinto, who wouldn't hurt her for a deed that still was still to be a written chapter, he'd be hurt though. And seeing pain upon her mate's face was unforgivable, traitorous.

It took a while of silence until the petite coywolf brought herself back to lean on his body, thinking it as a harmless gesture. Softly she spoke. "When I first met you...I thought you were someone I'd want to be with. Someone to just trust and care about...Things have changed since then though...I-I have a man to live with now. I love him....But sometimes I wish that I knew you longer...That Amy never had hurt you..." Fingers knotted themselves in his chest fur, gently but sincere. This moment was most confusing, so so confusing. She found herself do perplexed and bewildered with her own past deeds. She had given her heart over to Jacinto, yet it broke the blue eyed hybrid's heart to believe she still cared for another man.

Your heart is full of broken dreams. Just a fading memory, And everything's gone but the pain carries on. Lost in the rain again, When will it ever end. The arms of relief seem so out of reach

OOC One Night Love Affair XD

Hadley didn't know that he was creating confusion in Omni's heart. He just knew that they had been able to touch each other before, and the chance had been granted to them again. Not that he'd have the courage to do anything. Just knowing that she was there and wouldn't hurt him was enough. Hadley knew that she'd drawn blood from him, but that had been an accident. Omni pulled away, letting Hadley sit by the fire without anyone else to lean upon. Her hand closed over his softly, as if reassuring him that she wouldn't be going anywhere.

Maybe it would be better if she did. After all, he really shouldn't have been outside of the territory at all. He could be punished for doing such a thing. The words about possibly hurting someone had Hadley flinching. His ears flattened to his skull. He didn't know Omni that well after all. Just a single night when he'd been less than trash, still arrogant enough to think he could do whatever he wished. Omni leaned back into him, bringing his body to shudder. If Omni truly was capable of hurting others, then she would probably hurt him. Her quiet words about loving someone, about having almost loved him, had Hadley staring at the ground. He didn't deserve such a thing. Her fingers brushed his fur comfortingly, and Hadley reached over hesitantly, touching Omni's cheek before dropping away again.

totally lol. she's so confused with herselfWord Count :: 000

Omni felt so torn, more torn than she had ever in her life. What was she to do? What was she to say? She felt him shudder under her touch, she felt fearful that she was coming close to hurting him. Yet she was content to stay there though, ignoring the tugging burning pull within her stomach. She couldn't do this to Jacinto. She could not hurt him. She'd never be able to live with herself if anything happened. She leaned into his stroking finger over the side of her cheek. She didn't want to feel like this. Smitten with her mate, and having some feelings from another. It scared her, to be so dumbfounded. Finally she had to look away. Conjure up everything. This couldn't be anything but an affair, and chances were she'd never see Hadley again. "Tell me you won't forget about me...I'll be your friend...I'd visit you...Inferni wouldn't let you do that though..." She gently touched the side of his face, feeling slight pain within for the things she had done and would be missing. She knew she loved Jacinto. She cared for Jacinto. Was it really possible to feel the same for someone else? Mateship meant commitment. Mateship meant love and trust. She was pretty sure she was violating at least two of those. "My mate...I can't hurt him this way..." She could see the pain in Jacinto's orange eyes, if she strolled back knowing what she had done and thought.

Omni sat quietly watching the fire flicker, she had been so different long ago. She had been so messed up, so dirty. Maybe Inferni had softened her, made her much more soluble to the others around her.

Your heart is full of broken dreams. Just a fading memory, And everything's gone but the pain carries on. Lost in the rain again, When will it ever end. The arms of relief seem so out of reach

OOC completely irrelevant, but Hadley went to Aniwaya for Selene

Crystal blue eyes met chocolate brown ones. Hadley met her gaze gently, accepting all of what he saw, asking her to accept him and push away the fear once more. Her gaze dropped before his did, and Hadley watched her, unashamed. Maybe there was still a small flickering spirit inside him, asking to be set free. It was an impossible hope, just a dream far in the distance. It wouldn't be something he dared to reach for. Her words were so hesitant, asking if he'd remember her. Never forgot. The memory had been drowned in pain, but the lively hybrid had always been there, one of the last faces he'd seen before being shattered.

She touched his face softly, and Hadley gently drew an arm around her. This wasn't like the last time, full of passion, simply fulfilling the lust within each other. This time they acknowledged each other, seeing more than someone just to fulfill their passion, someone to accept them and drive back the darkness within each other. Her words at having a mate brought the large hybrid to draw back slightly. Did he care about such a thing? Deciding that he didn't he leaned in towards her. It'll be alright. He wished to say it was just one night, but that was a commitment, a promise of what would come, when Hadley wasn't really sure himself.

XD he should tell Selene that...She'd probably stop whatever rambling she's gonna do

Omni leaned in as his arm wrapped around her body, feeling guilty for what she was doing. For some reason it felt just, right even. The petite coywolf liked being held, and for the last while it had only been Jacinto holding her like so. Omni felt like a traitor to Jacinto, if he ever found out it would be completely all wrong. He would leave, and this being probably only a little while, she'd lose more than she needed. It was greedy. To want two different men, it was something so much like betrayal. He assured her it'd be alright, nodding quietly the young woman brushed a hand down his chest. She wanted to remember Hadley. Memorize his every feature for her safekeeping within.

That was all. The hand stopped easily there. "Hadley. I can't do this. I mean I want to, hold you. But even for thinking that--I am hurting someone else. I can't do that." Seafoam eyes were sorrowful, pained for the restrictions she had. It wasn't like it was just Jacinto. She knew very well she loved the cinnamon Lykoi. It was hurting him that frightened her much more.

Finally she whispered "I smell a woman on your pelt. Are you really sure you want to hurt her like this?" It was exactly the same question she had inwardly asked herself, her own test. Omni's own test of heart. "I mean--She's there...And I can tell which way by her scent...I don't want to hurt anyone." Blues turned up for a moment, trying to distance herself just a bit. Her whole life she had hurt others, and notch at had to be curbed now in the present. Maybe she was risking hurting Hadley as well, which was saddening. Her intent was to never hurt any canine.

OOC right, like he's really that brave XD

Hadley flinched slightly as Omni's hand ran over his chest, feeling the deep scars on his body. They weren't new to her, like the ones on his back and legs were, but they were a stronger source of fear for him than anything else. The memory of Amy, thrusting her hand through the damaged flesh, scraping at the organs inside with her claws-it was a nightmare. Omni's hand dropped away, and Hadley relaxed, just enjoying the feel of the two of them being close.

Hearing Omni's reluctance to hurt someone, whoever that someone was, released the last of the tension in his body. He removed his arm, leaning back to look at the sky. It was pretty, clouds drifting across, the sun just beginning to edge towards the horizon, still a bright light in the sky. Her words though had Hadley jolting up. She could smell Selene? That wasn't good. Selene wasn't his mistress, he didn't live to serve her. He belonged to someone else. Having her scent on him could only bring punishment to him.

He glanced at her, puzzled by what Omni meant, but getting the scent out of his fur was his top priority at the moment. He jogged over to the freezing ocean and laid inside it, desperately trying to remove the scent. No one could know that he cared for someone. Selene could get hurt, he would get hurt, Hadley had to remove the evidence. Hadley didn't know what way Omni was talking about, just that he had to protect Selene, already having returned to him broken once before. Hadley scrubbed at his fur ferociously, trying to remove it. Not satisfied with his efforts he rolled in the sand, stopping as he realized that the clear evidence he'd left the pack would get him in even worse trouble, Well, at least this punishment would be his to bear alone. Shivering he glanced at Omni. Scent gone? His eyes pleaded for her to confirm this, ears flattened with fear.

Omni watched confused as the man who once sat beside her had jumped up, frantically trying to get the scent away. Her brows knit in as he lay in the ocean water, scrubbing an trying to wash away. Maybe he didn't like the girl she had spoke about. Cocking her head, the russet girl replied quietly "I must've been wrong. It's gone. You may have overcome it though...You smell like salt."

That whole escapade of frantic attempts to rid oneself of another being's scent seemed different. Not something she'd do. Jacinto was her status, that she was taken already and she wouldn't have most come-ons. Jacinto would likely be insulted, knowing that someone he trusted was rubbing the scent away, throwing away that status. The scent of the girl didn't linger in the air anymore, neither did the tan and caramel female speak any more about it. She just didn't understand, that scent was so thick on his pelt. Much like hers usually was on Jacinto. Romance. But why would Hadley want to destroy that so much? Was the girl nothing in his eyes? Passing prey? Before accusing Hadley of anything, he'd mind stopped its confusion and she turned to other things.

Jacinto must have been worrying about where she was, and lately the small pains in her abdomen and the nausea that crashed over her in the mornings was becoming much more serious, she had ruled out pregnancy, how could she be pregnant? She must have been ill, a terrible flu from the winter months. "Hadley...I don't know about things.." She shook her head thinking about how he had gently held her. It felt strange to have things that way. Traitorous as very betraying. She didn't like it, she finally decided.

OOC here!

Omni confirmed that he'd managed to destroy the scent, and Hadley relaxed. Selene wouldn't get hurt. Everything would be alright. Hearing that he smelled like salt had Hadley shiver a little. He didn't live anywhere near the ocean, so they would know for sure that he'd misbehaved. That was alright though. It was better than risking Selene being hurt. He needed to protect her, even knowing that he was too weak to truly do anything other than try and hide her from enemies that would hurt her. He hadn't even been there when she'd needed him.

Omni's gentle confusion returned the hybrid's mind to her. Hadley cocked his head, trying to figure it out. I have to protect her. Maybe that would clear up the confusion. Don't want her hurt. Mustn't. He moved back over to the fire, freezing cold. He leaned as close to it as he could, trying to remove the chill running through his body. It had been a silly desperate move, diving into the ocean. It had been necessary though, despite the fact that his body wasn't as well protected against the cold as most canines were, fur missing from the various scars.
