Set for late afternoon/evening; AW, tho I’d prefer someone that would know Anann or know of her, rather than someone new to the pack since she left. Anann will be wanting to take the meat to the King's Cellar. She will also be requesting to spend the night in CdM to rest her horse, permission already granted from Gen. This is Stardust

Recent temperatures had started to creep above the freezing point. Making the sun soaked hill sides slick as a thin coat of mud started to form over the otherwise frozen earth. Which really didn’t create too many difficulties for the wolf with paw-pads and claws at her disposal, but was a far greater issue for the pack horse that followed behind with broad hooves and the extra weight of her heavy load. It was best to take things slow and easy to avoid Stardust from loosing her footing and Anann gave the mare plenty of lead as they made their way over the treacherous and uneven landscape as followed along the borders of the Ethereal Eclipse.

Typically such a journey would have taken only a couple of hours, but despite Anann’s early departure, the sun was already beginning to sink in the west by the time she reached the familiar scent of Cour des Miracles. It had taken her far longer than she had expected to make a visit back to the lands that had served as her home for so long. Tilting her head back, the amber wolf howled a song announcing her arrival and that she had brought with her a gift for the court.

It was the quartered portions of a cow elk that Dusty had carried from Fort Kingsbury to the borders of the court. It would amount to a couple hundred pounds of meat, plus the liver and heart. It seemed appropriate, considering that Anann and Anatoliy had taken the elk themselves and it was only due to their departure that elk would not have belong to Cour des Miracles in the first place. Anann was sure there were still plenty of capable hunters within the court, she felt she owed her old home at least this much.

The howl caught the Dauphin a little off guard. He had been out of the hotel, mainly avoiding his responsibilities at home, and his relationship to boot. Things on that front were getting very distant, and the man could not help but feel that it was his own fault. The thought that he was to blame for his mateship going sour made him flee the confines of the building and away from a chance encounter with Noss. Perhaps things were still fixable, though the man could hardly know if it truly was. Things were colder and there seemed to be less effort on both of their parts. It was getting harder and harder to come back to his bed with someone else in it. Solitude was providing him the escape he needed and wanted. The call certainly did startle him, but he chose to take it in stride.

The voice was familiar, though he had to admit he had not known the woman very well that called. He had met her before she had joined them and then throughout her stay in the Kingdom. Now, she was the leader of another pack to the northwest and he was still here, the Dauphin of the Court. He strode up to her, the smell of a killed creature starting to waft at him. Anann had brought meat, and it smelled as though it were a rather large portion of meat, too. That was a curious thing, he figured, since rarely did other people from other packs come bearing meat.

He came up to her, with lavender hued eyes taking in the sight of the meat. It was upon another horse, who seemed not to mind that they hauled another animal's dead carcass. "What can I do for you, Anann?" he asked as he approached her, eying the meat that she had brought with her. He chose not to ask directly what it was for, since he figured that she would inform him fairly quickly why she hauled meat across the countryside.

lol or Gen will just hijack the thread I suppose :p <3

The paint mare grew impatient as the pair waited along the borders. After walking for the majority of the day Stardust could not understand why they now stood and waited at the scent marked border. Anann had though that the mare would be glad for the break, but instead the beast of burden fidgeted about until Anann gave the lead line a bit of jerk. Dusty understood the reprimand well enough and settled. Though she was far from happy about it, give a loud snort and stomping a heavy front hoof. That bought the wolf a few moments peace, until once again the horse became discontent and began rubbing her head against the wolf's back as if trying to rid herself of the halter all together. "Oh, knock it off." Anann growled and gave the line a sharp jerk. Immediately the mare stopped, jerking her head upward. Anann softened a bit as the mare gave her a look with a big brown eye and scratched the horse along the line of the halter. "Not much longer now and we'll get you fed and rested. I promise." Anann hardly doubted that she wouldn't be allowed to rest both herself and the horse before heading back to Casa. After all it wasn't all that long ago these lands were home to both of them.

It was right about that time when Strel showed up. Anann was still giving the mare a few affection scratches and rubbings, but those came to a halt once Anann caught sight of the familiar form of the Dauphin. "Hello, Strel. It's good to see you." In truth he had not been who she had expected. She had hoped perhaps one of her old friends of the Court might come to greet her. Haven or Alder, perhaps even Vigilante, though she had expected the King would have preoccupied. It was no matter though, hopefully she could still get around to seeing those familiar faces before she headed back home. "I just thought I'd bring the Court a gift on behalf of Casa di Cavalieri. An Elk seemed fitting since you lost a couple of your best hunters, what with Anatoliy and I leaving." There was humor in her tone and she gave the Dauphin a wink as she tooted her own horn. To call her and her mate the best hunters was probably a bit of a stretch, but they were both capable and their large bodies gave them an advantage over others. In all reality, she hoped they had not been sorely missed and that no ill had come from their absence here.
