With a yawn the tawny hybrid sat up from her plank-like leaning slumber, sleepily the young woman sat up, leaning with her palms beside her supporting her streamlined weight from the softness and warmth of the bed. Grey light streamed in from the cracked window away from the bedside, reminding Selene that the day was starting meaning her start had to be early as well. One small hand rose up to brush the messy mop of black hair from her eyes, moving the signs of sleep from her appearance.

Rouge orbs glanced calmly down at the sleeping form of the scarred hybrid she adored. The conversation with Amy still confused her though, how could Hadley not have the ability to love? Hadn't he shown enough kindness towards the caramel femme already? Amy's words must've been out of date, nonsensical now. Sel refused them to take those comments to heart, the couldn't be true. They just couldn't!

Selene chose against waking up Hadley, his sleep seemed much more peaceful this way, it would simply be unfair to wake him up. The scratches from Amy's punch still remained but were very faint, very close to fading back into the fur and flesh of her black splashed palette. They would certainly be gone soon. A gentle sigh escaped her lean coyote muzzle as she glanced down by the bedside table, reaching one hand out to gently grasp the mountain lion necklace and pendant. Sel studied it for a moment before placing it gently in one of Hadley's palms, holding his hand gently while keeping the pendant safely nestled in his palm.

He hadn't meant to sleep in the bed. The night had been spent holding Selene and listening to her speak though, and before he realized it he'd dropped off. Nightmares ran through his mind, alternating between Amy hurting him, Selene hurting him, Amy hurting Selene, or even Hadley himself hurting the hybrid. It frightened him. The last part of his sleep was blissfully met by darkness, no dreams plaguing at his mind. Happy he settled deeper into his place, sighing with contentment. It was only a short time after that he felt something cool touch his hand.

Recognizing the touch of metal Hadley bolted upright, fully expecting to find a knife waiting there, ready to curve into his flesh. Instead there was only a cool lion pendant. Breathing deeply Hadley calmed down. It wasn't a knife, ready to teach him the meaning of pain yet again. He glanced over to Selene. It must have been her that gave him the necklace. Embarrassed by his reaction Hadley looked to the ground. Sorry. He should have known better than to expect such a thing. Weeks simply weren't long enough for him to have recovered from the time spent tormented, as much as he wished such a thing, and his fear was slowly getting better.

Word Count → 000 ::IT'S A BRIA!!!.

every fibre of my existence

Selene had felt safe and warm in her spot in the bed. Somewhere within the tawny hybrid was a bit of doubt that Hadley had slept on the bed under his own choosing, yet the girl was happy to have him there, being her security and warmth. Still the talk with Amy ran through her mind, the bottle she was given sat in the corner of the room dejected, Selene didn't know what to do with such an offering, especially from Amy. Should they drink it? Or get rid of it? It sat there like a reminder of their pairing, and how horribly wrong the dog merchant had though it was. What did Amy know about worth anyway? Hadley was valued to the earth-toned female. He was someone to talk to and equally listen, someone to share feelings...If that wasn't worth, then what was it?

Often times Sel wondered about the Barinos, what they were like and how they operated. Of they were overly pompous and thought how Amy did, how could she ever be one of them? Red pools gazed apologetically to the surprised Hadley, shaking her head as he apologized. "It's alright. No need to be sorry." Stretching her arms, Sel gently murmured "Good morning."

The wanderlust had taken her a few days before, and today was the day to take action. With a sleepy yawn Sel asked "Do you, Hadley want to go somewhere today?"

She asked it in a way thinking of the humans how they asked eachother on "dates" deciding to try it out sometime. Selene thought of visiting the pack neighbors, the girl felt quite like a hermit of she didn't.

Hesitantly he smiled at Selene as she accepted his apology. Things were so easy around her, never having to worry that she would go and strike him. The more time they spent together the less the vision of Selene turning into someone like Amy struck him. He could still see it there, in her delicate form and fine breeding, the way that she talked sometimes, that she could be someone like Amy, powerful and commanding. It was simple choice that kept her from taking that step. Hadley had smelled Amy on Selene when she'd come back from the city, sending him scurrying under the bed. It had taken a lot of patience to talk him back out, and Hadley had decided to ignore the bottle that he knew came from the merchant.

The gentleness was clear for him to see this morning though, the last image of his nightmare where he was the one hurting her shaking his mind. He looked away, thinking that perhaps if they weren't so close it would never happen. He would never find himself hurting her. Afraid that he would become what he feared Hadley's hand gently enclosed around the pendant, trying to use it to keep himself as he was. A sleepy yawn had the hybrid turning to study the tiny female. Surprise filled his eyes at his words. Go somewhere? He couldn't imagine anywhere they would go. The springs?

Word Count :: 000 if Selene could, she'd totally nom affectionately on his face all day.

Selene toyed idly with her hair as she waited, untangling the messy wavy locks of black hair. In some ways she felt pretty stupid for being this attached, for just letting herself go in a heartbeat for one individual, so trusting...So naive. Yet on the other hand, it felt right. How could Selene not trust him? He hadn't presented any form of distrustful acts to the caramel fae before. Trustfully, she brought herself closer to his core. Dark eyes flickered again to the bottle, sitting there lonely and dejected, almost sinister in motive. The girl fought the urge to jump up from the bed to hurriedly smash it outside, make the image of the merchant just disappear.

She regretted going to the city, although she managed to find some nice things. Quietly, she rose partway to look at Hadley with a small smile. "I got that necklace for you...I hope you like it. When I saw it, I thought of ya." It was time to get the day rolling, and even though she was up on her knees, she playfully let a finger swipe almost teasingly down his muzzle to the tip of his cold nose. She found the hair ornament by the bed, thrown off almost without thinking the day before. She brought the comb part of the clip to her long bangs, to clip one side back with a few locks of her black hair. The blue wings of the tiny butterfly seemed to suit the gentle female, so delicate...So inwardly colorful. Hadley's question about the trip had an ear flicking back thoughtfully. "Um...I was thinking we can check out the other packs. I've kinda wanted to meet our neighbors and stuff." Youthful red eyes turned to Hadley as she flashed a friendly soft smile, "It'll be fun." Taking a short moment, Selene's tail brushed contentedly over the surface of the bed studying the brawny hybrid for a moment. How did she end up like this? Sharing a room, and on occasion a bed with someone so agreeable with her liking, someone so gentle. It seemed like a dream, something so perfectly fabricated to meet her  aspirations. Although still tired, Selene yawned once again, attempting to smooth down and tame the beast of sleepiness.

Selene fiddled with her hair softly as Hadley watched her. He was no longer afraid of meeting her eyes, though his glances were always short and brief, not wanting to act too dominant. Hearing that the necklace was for him Hadley nodded softly. He lifted the necklace up, placing it around his neck carefully. Hadley wasn't sure if he'd be allowed to keep it, but for now it marked him as belonging to Selene, even if that wasn't the truth. Her hand traced down him softly, bringing a soft smile to his lips. Hadley didn't see how he was like the lion depicted on the necklace, but that was alright, as long as it meant something for Selene.

Hadley tensed as Selene explained that they wouldn't be going to the springs. She meant leaving the pack. That would be horrifying! Hadley was safe in the pack. Amy couldn't get to him here. The last time he'd left Hadley had met someone who was cloaked in death. That wasn't an experience he wanted to repeat. Her words that it would be fun didn't do much to assure the nervous hybrid. Amy had been nearby, he knew that for sure from the scent that clung to Selene, and he didn't want to see her, or put himself in any position where he would get hurt. He didn't have to listen to Selene after all. Remembering that she was higher ranked than him had Hadley drooping down. He had no choice. A-alright. Hopefully it would be a short trip. He wasn't planning on leaving Selene's side the whole time, whether or not she liked it.

Word Count :: 000 if Selene could, she'd totally nom affectionately on his face all day.

Sel gave a small grin as Hadley placed the necklace around his neck, nodding as she noticed how good the brawny hybrid looked with the small piece of silver hanging daintily off his neck. "My gift to you, keep it for as long as you like." She knew the man's smiles were hard to come by, but in those times where he had directed them towards her, they were something precious and of great value. Hadley was someone of special value and company to the tiny female, and Sel couldn't help but feel lucky in his presence. Her wounds to her ribs had healed well, and luckily she could travel with ease.

Large black ears folded themselves to the long locks of black hair when she heard his voice shake and the show of submission fall into her hands. She didn't know if she was being over-dominant and of course maybe she could change that. Of course he could have rejected her offer, and Selene would of course be overly happy to just take a short venture to the springs. "Are you sure mia bello?" Her expression turned worried, maybe they could just go to the springs, it would be much better for her dear one.

While she waited, she located her sword and a few things, a leather strap she had made to hold it and the white fur boots she had made days before. Standing, the young woman slipped on the soft boots and slipped the sword into its place. She glanced shyly and almost bashfully at the mottled man. "It'll be fine..." Moving back to the bed, she brought herself to his body, giving a warm affectionate embrace.

OOC if selene ever acted dominant towards hadley i would split my sides laughing XD

Selene's ears flattened, the last thing Hadley had wished for. He was scared to leave the pack, but he wanted Selene to be happy more than that. She was the one canine he let himself care about besides Sebastian. It drove him mad with fear, knowing that at least Sebastian had the protection of having the rights to him. Selene held none of that. Sebastian had said to do things with others. Perhaps this would count for that. He watched the tiny female dance across the room, gathering her supplies. She certainly was graceful in her movements.

The way that she moved towards him, as if drawn irresistibly startled Hadley. He didn't understand such a powerful pull. The warmth of her embrace only soothed him slightly, haunted by the idea of her being hurt and worried. Her reassurance had Hadley nodding softly. Yes. He attempted a smile, though it was rather shaky and lacking the warmth that the real flashes across his face held. He didn't want her to worry, and as long as he was with her he would be safe. Hopefully.

hehe. I think the only time she would truly be dominant and pissed off is... If he came back to the room drunk out of his mind with two hookers XP...I don't think she'd be too lenient towards that Big Grin. Oh and BIG powerplay, I had to get them to CdA lol.SELENE IS SO SMITTEN IT'S FUNNY

Selene gently buried her muzzle into his fur, breathing in his scent quietly, locking it into her mind for later times, times when she'd need to find that scent and use it in the future to find Hadley. She pulled away just the slightest to peer at her companion, reddish eyes searching dark-brown for anything. Anything at all. She had decided against interrogating Hadley after seeing Amy, it wouldn't be fair and time held answers, rushing just upset the balance of everything. He agreed once more, and the young woman found herself nodding in more agreement.
Selene finally removed herself from her place, painfully sliding her arms back to her sides. It was like being struck with something sharp, to be so comfortable one minute and then to ruin that before pulling away. An apologetic glance was shot his way, to try and communicate to the handsome hybrid that it was not him that had her moving away. As if making things right, the tawny fae brought her muzzle forward to give a small and brief lick to the end of his nose. Red orbs looked around the room quietly, studying and quietly memorizing the place that had become so familiar. It was like home, but there was the faint itching knowledge that Hadley could boot her out any time. She wanted to reassure the scarred canine that she cared about him, would put her life on the line any day. But the words wouldn't come, they always sounded to regal, too in-love than what she wanted. Her aim wasn't to scare the man away with her promises of unconditional love and caring, that just wouldn't do.
Taking one of Hadley's massive hands in her own small one, she helped him rise from the bed. A reassuring smile spread across the corners of her muzzle, giving the hand a gentle squeeze. "Hadley...-" Sel tried to say something, but broke off as she decided against it. Shaking her head, the sorrel female tried once again. "I-I want to...Care for you." It took only a moment for her to lock her eyes with his own, but as soon as she did, almost instantly they flitted away shyly. "I mean-" Taking his hand in her own, she lifted it to her muzzle. "I do..."
In small contented silence, the girl led him outside. She held a small sack of doodads, dried meat and a best up thermos full of hot tea. The sword gently slapped against the side of her thigh as she walked, creating some form of noise between them. "I'm sorry..." In another lapse of unspoken words, Selene whistled for Ukaglay once again and smiled as the creature trotted forward. The shyness faded away soon enough, she held the reins in one hand and turned to face Hadley. "Do you want to steer this time? I'll be right here to help." A broad grin had plastered itself over her black streaked visage, waiting for the large man to do something.

OOC i think hadley is getting kidnapped by someone...

Selene moved away, satisfied by his agreement. His nose was licked softly, leading Hadley to reach out and touch her arm softly as she danced across the room, gathering what they'd need for the trip to the other pack. His hand was taken, squeezed gently. Hadley met Selene's red eyes hesitantly, the beginnings of trust showing inside. Her own eyes darted away, surprising the hybrid. Usually he was the one so hesitant for a glance. He let her place his hand on her muzzle, stroking it softly. Her shy words brought another hesitant smile from Hadley. I care... He was unable to finish, but he hoped Selene understood.

An apology was given to him, not that he understood even half the time why Selene did that. She didn't do anything to need apologizing for. Uka came at the whistle, and Hadley stared dubiously at Selene before realizing that was rude and dropping his gaze. Sure. He had no idea where they were going, or how to steer, but Selene had asked. He climbed onto the horse carefully, sitting up there with all the confidence of a young child who had just began to walk on it's own. He looked down as Selene joined him on the horse, her hands wrapping around his waist. It felt nice. He nudged Uka, and the horse started off. Hadley had no idea where Uka was taking them, but it was a good start.

Okay someone from CdA can come in and find them, and talk about the ship <3 and another powerplay for Hadley.

Selene leaped up carefully onto Uka after Hadley had done so too, happy to hear that he cared too. Her arms wrapped carefully around his muscular waist, gently resting her muzzle by his shoulder. The young woman couldn't help but feel content, and happy with the way he handled Uka. "You're doing great!" Dhe flashed a toothy grin at her male companion, reassuring the scarred hybrid that this was the right thing.  She watched quietly as the trees and winter scenery passed them by, bobbing slightly with every step of her horse. She yawned again, feeling sleepy from the quiet ride, but then again she was happy with her company. The thought of being lost was dismissed, she had supplies and things to keep them safe. They could make it if lost, they had already winded through the large grey tone trees, it couldn't be too hard to get back though.

Soon enough though there was a noticeable scent on the wind, that of a pack nearby. She lifted her head and tapped him lightly on the back to stop. "I think we're here..." Dark eyes glanced wonderingly at the place they had come to, she was hesitant to cross, to talk to anybody else.
She slid easily off the horse and moved towards Hadley as he did so too. She grasped one of his hands in her own, giving it a gentle squeeze once again. She slung the small bag of things over her shoulder, keeping her hand intertwined in his. "I'm nervous." She admitted, she wanted him to stay close, keep the tendrils of fear away. Pulling away for just a moment, Sel reached into the bag and handed him some strips of dried meat. "Here. And some tea if you want." Dainty hands held up the hot beverage in its safe container, settling herself down against a large tree, leaning against the bark. Uka wandered away, moving to graze on dry winter-killed grass and whatever non-green foliage he could find. The girl looked up to Hadley, smiling and extended a hand for him to sit with her.

Passing his pack's borders had Hadley immediately tense up. Even Selene's familiar presence couldn't sooth him. His ears twitched restlessly, searching for danger. The smell of another pack reached them, and Selene lightly tapped him. Hadley jumped, startling Uka slightly. The horse ran forwards a few steps before stopping. Shaking Hadley slipped off the horse. This didn't seem like such a good idea anymore, even if Selene was with him.

Dried meat was passed to him, and Hadley's eyes glowed happily. He was always hungry, erratic as he was in his eating. He chomped through the dried meat quickly, eyes closing with bliss. It tasted amazing. He opened his eyes as Selene admitted being nervous, tea passed to him. He took the tea and opened it, getting ready to pour some. He looked over at Selene, wishing to reassure her. They won't hurt you. W-won't let them. Not very good, but enough. He took a small sip of the tea before passing it back to her.
