Sample 1:
The snow fell slowly and quietly from the cloud infested sky high above Dove. It fell gracefully and heavily, big and thick snowflakes with thousands of different patterns landing silently on her coat. They blended in perfectly with the matching white fur that obscured her lean figure and melted when they landed near her nose. She lay curled up in a ball with her fluffy tail wrapped around her and her legs tucked snuggly beneath her body. Her large ears moved around, listening to the near silent forest that surrounded her empty meadow. It was eerie but peaceful to the young she-wolf who lay with her with her dull yellow eyes open and fixed on nothing in particular. Her breathing was even and it rose from her black nose like a white fog and lingered before her face until the winter wind would whisk it away into the cold air.

Dove was alone. She had always been alone. Born alone in a dim den with no other pups. A mother who abandoned her and a father who wanted her dead. No pack to take care of her or another creature of her race to comfort her either. Other woodland animals steered clear of her since she was considered the enemy. Sadness ate away at her heart, making her cold and rude. She was careless and harsh, ill tempered and had no love or compassion in her soul. A lone she-wolf was she and alone she was destine to be.

The deadly winter winds shifted and blew into her face making her shiver and close her eyes. With a grunt, she stood up slowly and shook off the snowflakes that had accumulated on her body. Blowing one off her snout, she gazed out across her fast meadow she claimed and searched anything or anyone. Nothing. Nothing but blankets of snow and small dead weeds peeking out of its drifts. Annoyed with it all, she launched herself forward and raced across the meadow with blinding speed. Her strong legs carried her across the deep snow with ease and she left big dips where she had once been. Her teeth were bared with aggravation as she spurred herself harder onward into the trees on the opposing side. She had to do something to take out her stress before she went mad. All she ever wanted was love, a friend even, but her heartless nature prevented that. She kept her sad heart locked in chained and had tossed the key years ago. She slowed her pace suddenly when the scent of deer drifted up her nasal cavities and hit the hunting switch. She crouched down in the snow, almost invisible and crept forward until she came upon a buck with a doe. The two frolicked happily together, obviously in love, around the small clearing. Dove watched as the two embraced each other with evil and jealous eyes. She tore from the brush with a angry snarl and stood before the two with her ears pinned against her skull and her fangs exposed. The buck took his spot before his mate and snorted at her. Dove was unsure about which life to take. She saw the doe slowly inching away and made her decision when the buck faltered and looked to his mate. Propelling forward, Dove attacked the male with expert skill and clung to its back. It tried to get to her with its rack. It bellowed and cried out angrily and also fearfully for its life. Holding on with her paws, she hissed in his ear, "If i must die alone...so shall you." with that, she snapped his spine and plummeted to the ground with him. He lay there dead with his eyes open and fixed on the spot his doe stood. Dove panted heavily and followed his gaze up to the female who started for her slowly. The doe's lips parted as she spoke through her tears, "Why? What good has that done?" Dove rose up and bent forward, her mouth about to speak her answer but the doe was gone. Vanished. Now even more angry, Dove picked up her kill and drug it home where she sat in dead center of her field and tore the beast to pieces. The snow was stained in its blood. She was stained in its blood and it seemed as though everything was stained red. Crimson rivers of sadness and anger flooding her entire life....

Dove pulled away from her kill, no longer a deer, with a bloody snout and through back her head in anguish. Her lips parted, she searched her throat for the right note, and she began to howl. She forced all of her sadness, anger, pain, sorrow, and desire for love into that one eerie note and sang it to the lonesome moon that hid behind the thick clouds that contiued to snow down upon her...seeing nothing.

Sample 2: (THIS IS NOT A WOLF POST..but one of my favs iv done)
As the orange sun slowly deacended from the red sky behind the numrous Arab sand dunes, the entire desert prepared for slumber..or for the start of life. Beyond the tallest dune where the heat was the most intense and the wind blew the hardest, a dark colored Arabian stud raced to the top. He reared against the setting sun and pawed the humid air with striking hooves. He screamed loudly for all to hear that his fire filly was born. He whipped around and galloped wildly back to his mate who lay sprawled on her side with a tiny filly already standing near her. The mare lay dead, the filly was full of like her sire. With a dead dam, the stallion ruled out a mistress and forced the filly upon her. With that, he vanished.

Years passed and the mistress mare took the best of care of the filly knowing her life was at stake if the stallion returned caught a flaw in her upbringing. The filly was not given a name but the mare had a nick name for her, "Spark" because of her spirit that always seemed ignited. Once she reached two years of age, the mistress abandoned her seeing that she could not handle the wild creature. The filly was on her own, living as she could until she reached three.

Her father returned that year and sought her out. He tested her and inspected hr with the highest expectaions. Anger flashed in him when he realized his daughter was abandoned. Swearing his return, he vanished again to seek out the former mistress and kill her for her wrong doing. But before he left, he granted the fire filly with a name. "Niran" which meant flames in arabic and left her live out her destined life.

Niran stood a top a larger hill of sand. Her Arabian form was sillouhetted against the rising sun. She stood stature still in a feminine stance that showed off her beauty. As the rays leaped over the hill and glared upon her coat, they ignited her orange flaming locks and made her deep chestnut coat glow with life. She turned her dish-shaped head to her left and sought out an oasis with keen and luminous blue eyes. Drawing back into a small rear, she lunged down the hill and towards the small lush island.
As she raced across the sand, her feminine muscles moved perfectly beneath her pelt. They tightened and relazed with each stide. She ran so gracefully she looked as though she was floating above the ground instead of tearing it up with hooves of lead. A pure product of her Father. She slid to a halt, flinging sand in every direction. Stepping gingerly into the trees, she searched for a water who to quench her thirst.
Niran dipped her dainty head to the water and left her mug touch surface before drinking greedily upon the cool liquid until her heart's content. Sighing, she backed away from the pool. She moved slowly to the shade of a palm tree and rested there.

Niran was not yet of sexual materity physically, but her mind was well aware or it. She watched stallions from a distance with a curious eye and stared loathingly at mares whom they sexed with an envious eye. With her spunky attitude and short temper, she was an excellent fighter and seductive tease. She knew her ways to fool stallions and her ways to piss off mares. She never once saw herself actually mating with a stud without her Father's permission, but at times she didnt care.

Example 3: (also not a wolf..)
Amimi casually picked her way through the quiet and lonely apple orchard. It was abandoned and hardly anyone entered for the fear of being trapped and alone forever. The white and dappled Andalusian mare had no fear of being alone or stuck forever in the empty trees for she was the object most horses feared. On the outside the mare seemed simple, a wonderous beauty with feminine muscles worked into her strong frame, but on the inside she was deadly, dark and dangerous. Shaking dead leaves from her silky white mane, she elevated her thick head to a tree nearing ripe red apples. Smiling slightly, she extended her graceful neck and plucked one with her fuzzy lips. Sighing, her sharp teeth easily sliced the fruit in half and she devoured it greedily.

Finishing her healthy snack, Amimi continued on her way deeper into the orchard where less sunlight filtered in with high hopes of finding a proper meal to suit her thirsty needs.

Amimi was a vampric horse, one of the few left in the area. From a distance or even right up on her you would have no idea she was a vampyre unless she showed you. The sweet mare was seducing, full of sick tricks, and always thirsty. She had a way of seducing tough stallions with her unimaginable beauty, mating with them, and finally killing them expertly making it look like a cougar attack.

Coming across a lone doe standing in the dead center of a lush clearing, Amimi licked her lips and stood back watching her sliently with glazed blue eyes with red hinges. At first the doe looked alarmed until a large buck approached her. Not happy with the shabby doe, he snorted and left her side. The little creature was furious and began to storm away, but the buck returned and kissed her cheek lovingly. The doe jerked away disgusted and left him standing their confused. At first Amimi was amused by the doe getting rejected but pain and fury filled her soul-less body when he returned.

Allowing her instincts to kick in, she lunged forward at the couple and tackled the large buck making sure to watch out for his rack. Keeping a grip on his back with her powerful hoof, she forced his face into the ground as he bellowed and she whispered seductivly in his ear, "If i must live and die alone, you will too!" with her parting statment, she pressed in his spine and heard the deafing crack as it snapped and he died.

Smirking triumphantly, she stood up and preapred to lunch into a drinking frenzy until she heard a small noise behind her. Whipping her head around and snarling, she met eyes with the doe. "What good did that do?" the creature asked. Amimi went to lunge at her but she loped away. Having lost her appetite, she stood protectivly over her kill for hours with a numb mind....

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
