Ghost of a Village

Kota had finally reached the Piccolo Village where the exile had apparently lived, Kota hoped he was gone already but knew that he had to keep alert and ready for anything. The sun was high in the sky so Kota knew he had plenty of time to explore the village before nightfall; of course nightfall wouldn't effect Kota at least not with the moon being as bright as it has been. Kota spent the rest of the day exploring the houses of the villiage but kept getting this creepy feeling that he was being watched by someone or something. These occurence would have Kota looking over his shoulder and searching windows for lurking watchers; of course he never found any. Kota had not been paying attention to the day as he entered house after house, some he had to force through vines while others were almost to easy to enter. In some houses he found signs of recent activity while in others he found a light to heavy coating of dust everywhere.

It was during one of those times of coming out a really dusty house that Kota noticed two things at once: one being that the sun had sunk down to the horizon and the second thing that he noticed was an unatural pale glow coming from the ally across the street. Curiousity may have killed the cat but it apparently not wolves because Kota was overcome by it and started off toward the glow. But no matter how far Kota walked toward the glow he didn't get any closer to it; it sped up or slowed down with him and always seemed to stay just outside of his vision like it was teasing him to follow. And follow Kota did, through backallys and side streets untill he found himself clear on the other side of the village. He noticed now that the glow seemed to be coming from inside a house that was nearly completly covered in vines

Kota approched the house at where he thought the door may be and attacked the vines; pulling at them and trying to gain a way through them without really harming the vines themselves. After much struggling Kota found...a wall so he decided to try again in a different spot and so it went for nearly five minutes Kota searched for a door and finally found one. But his efforts was rewarded with a bit of pain; when he did manage to get the jammed door open and get through the vines his foot got caught and he hit the floor flat on his belly. With a loud OOF and a hude puff of dust Kota found himself looking into an extreamly dust covered house from a much lower perspective then he would have liked.

With his pride more hurt then his body Kota stood up and with a cursing glare at the vines he yanked his foot free of them and looked around the dark house. He could tell that there hadn't been anyone in this home for a very very long time; centuries maybe but he knew the glow came from this building and he was going to find it or die trying. Later on in his life when he would tell this story to his children; Kota would never be able to explain why he felt an overwhelming need to investigate that unnatural glow. Kota searched the house untill he noticed the glowing under a shut door and with a bit more force he managed to unstick that jammed door too but as soon as he had a icey cold chill ran up his spine and he froze in his tracks. Perhapes the expression 'die trying' was not a particularly good one to use for there across the room stood a ghost of a young Luperci girl in her Optime form.

The ghost smiled at Kota and he hesitently smiled back and then his face went blank again as he watched the ghost point at the chest that sat at the foot of a bed. Apparently this room was a bedroom; one of adults by the looks of it but the pictures have long since faded away to nothing. With hestitant steps Kota made his way to the chest "y...you want...me to o..open it?" Kota asked with a shaking voice. This was the first time Kota had ever seen a ghost and it un-nerved him but he knealt down and reached out but no sooner had he touched the lid then four candles lit in the room. The flamed blazed brightly enough to light the room and Kota opened the chest and looked inside.

Inside lay what appeared to be really REALLY old moth eatten blankets, Kota looked back to the ghost questioningly and the ghost only smiled and pointed again at the chest. Kota reached in epecting to grab the blankets but foud the feel to dust under his hand "lovely" he muttered at this turn of events. He reached deeper into the piles of blanket dust; searching for whatever it is the ghost wanted him to find. He was about to give up when his hand struck something hard that didn't turn to dust as his touch; he grasp it and pulled it up from the piles of what remained of blankets. Kota was amazed to find a sword in his hand; a sword inside a beautiful but dusty sheath.

Kota stared at it in amazment and gently grasp the hilt and tugged the blade from its home; the light shined on the polished and well cared for blade. He looked it up and down with awe then slid it back into its sheath "are you...giving this to me?" Kota asked in amazment. The ghost nodded "thank you" Kota said gratefully and with a final warm smile the ghost faded away; as soon as the ghost faded so did the flames on the candles as if they were never lit. Kota smiled and cleaned it with the edge of his rag cloak then clutched it to him. Kota left the house and made sure the door stuck shut again then went back to a privious house he had been to to get a belt he had seen. He put the sword on around his waist with the belt and headed out of the village back toward the manor.
