Surprise

Adelle had woken up extra early this morning. Her tail thudded quietly against the wall as she laid nestled into the bed she'd been given. She might not be able to stretch out in it like someone who had shifted could, but Adelle still managed to take up a large portion of it, quite big and still growing. Last night Grandpa had told her that he would be giving her a surprise today. She couldn't picture what it was, her mind racing with excitement. Ideas of weapons, and toys, and friends she could play with paraded through her mind.

At last she couldn't sit still any longer. The sun was just starting to peek over the edge of the horizon, thin gray slivers of light piercing the darkness. That seemed late enough for her to have waited for. Adelle had been assigned a mentor now after all. Adelle trotted over to Grandpa's bed, and jumped up next to him. She promptly began to cover his face in wet slobbery licks. [html]Grandpa! Det er morgen! Får jeg min store overraskelse nu?[/html] Adelle whined, pushing at him excitedly.

Today was a rare day where Regner's habits hadn’t driven him to awake before the sun as he usually did. Unfortunately he was woken early anyway by the fast moving tongue of an excited puppy. Regner groaned as he was pulled unwillingly into the waking world, straining his ears to make sense of Adelle's babble.

Ahh, the surprise. Regner had been planning on taking Adelle out to the old human city inside Casa territory, he wasn't sure of the name just yet but it looked plenty interesting from the glances he had gotten so far. " Overraskelse? Hvilken overraskelse, jeg ikke kan huske at sige noget i den retning." Regner kept his voice deadpan with a hint of annoyance, letting Adelle stew for a minute before he chuckled, a ripple spreading down the muscular back of the Secui form he slept in as he stretched before jumping off the bed, changing into Optime as he went.

" Ja Adelle, de får deres overraskelse i dag" he reassured the puppy as he dressed himself, forgoing his usual array of concealed daggers in favour of a pair strapped at his waist along with his axe. Satisfied Regner turned towards the door, gesturing for Adelle to follow with his tail, "Kommer."

Grandpa finally woke up, leaving her tail to wag wildly behind her. They could start going now! Patiently she waited for a few moments before he spoke. No surprise? He didn't say that? Confused Adelle looked back on the night before. He had quite clearly said she would get a surprise today, didn't he? Laughter rippled through him, and it struck Adelle that he was teasing her. Growling she watched him slide off the bed, changing into optime form. Dancing over she leaped up, nipping at his fur. Adelle followed after, glad that the surprise was still coming. Once he was dressed Adelle trotted after him.

They set out past the fort, Adelle darting around his legs, excited to be able to go out. They passed the court they had spent wrestling in, out into the woods they had romped in. Keeping up with Grandpa's long strides was hard, as she was just starting to shoot up, her legs not quite long enough to have her keep pace with him yet. Wondering what the surprise could possibly be she wandered through the woods, making sure not to go too far in case it appeared before them.
