The night started much like any of the others lately, the male simply felt useless and unable to do much else then attempt to do something productive. He had tried to do a patrol the other day, but the terrain was simply too rough for his shoulder to attempt. Blues looked to his useless arm, his hand flexing in the sling, each little movement bringing an unsettled bit of pain that was slowly almost achingly healing. X’y was coming home tonight, and for the first time he was actually hoping to see her, if even to just feel safe in knowing another canine was at least preforming his duties while he was unable. It wasn’t as if he really should have been doing them anyway being an Omega anyways.
Long strides took him toward their den sight, it being the first time since the pack meeting he had even been around the hole in the ground. He had spent most of his nights at his shop, sleeping and living there instead of surrounding himself with her scent. Ears perked rather quickly a top of his head though, as sounds and howls and others seemed to echo along the valleys and mountains. His blues looked west toward the stables as they narrowed. Again he listened, unable to really tear off into the wilderness and figure out what was going on, on his own but another yip and howl and other commotion caused a growl to leave his throat.
There was only one person whom he knew who could go and help or whatever was necessary as to what was going on, the foreign voices mixed with those he recognized worried him. His form took off, in a run that ignored the pain in his shoulder. But in the end it wasn’t a full blown run, each step and jolt almost bringing a yip of pain from him, he progressed faster than a lazy walk but nowhere near his capacity. His legs carried him along the familiar paths that he knew X’y would use as she returned. Hoping to catch her, and alert her.
