Bran is by Kiri!

Dusk had settled over the lands he would now be calling home and the young Irishman had sought some solitude. He loved his brother, although that damn cat could do with a kick or two up the arse and the man had wanted a little while on his own. He'd bid his brother farewell a few hours ago and he'd set off to find somewhere to sit and think. Bran wasn't exactly the type to over-think things- he much preferred to let the little worries in life wash over his head and he was never one to dwell on anything. Therefore, his gait had been easy and relaxed as he'd walked away from the little den area he and his brother had set up, his bostaff swinging merrily back and forth as a tuneful whistle escaped his pursed lips. A backpack sat easily on his back, a comfortable weight that he rarely noticed anymore. The trek had been long and hard- he had certainly gained a few more calluses on his paws from the huge mountain range they'd travelled over, but it was well worth it.

They'd met another Stormbringer a little while ago- Saul. Bran hadn't really known what to make of him, aside from the fact that he and Niernan were possibly more similar than Bran was to either of them. It seemed like the grey Stormbringer had had a hard lot in life, although Bran had heard of worse stories. The boy had presented him and his brother with a carved charm in the morning before their departure- Bran now sported a wooden raven charm around his neck. It was a nice gift and Bran appreciated the gesture. White bottomed tail swayed merrily as he'd walked, brown eyes watching the surroundings with a passive interest. Unlike Niernan, Bran wasn't particularly interested in documenting much of anything, but he was used to humouring his older sibling.

He'd stopped when he'd reached the lake, an ache between his shoulder blades reminding him that the journey was nowhere near from over. He had no idea where he and Niernan were going to go, what they were even going to do and he didn't really mind. By this point, the sun had sunk well below the horizon and the land was bathed in a husky pastel blue, the onset of darkness. The caramel traveller had hopped up easily onto a boulder, chocolate eyes dancing merrily as a cocky grin stretched one side of his lips. Reaching back, the man pulled the wooden flute from his backpack, blowing softly through it to create a delicious sound, a cloying creamy flavour on his tongue as chocolate ears picked up the notes he was making. Before long, a fast paced jig emitted from his flute, splashing flavours all over his mouth that made him hum in pleasure.

Oak had found the eastern lands beyond his pack’s home to be plentiful ones. He yearned to travel further, and his steps took him beyond the human’s city and into the land he had explored and hunted in the weeks past. The Dreamer had not traveled much further then this, knowing that the Sugarwoods that would inevitably lead him to the lands of Inferni. He was not a fan of the coyote pack, though it was a bit of bad blood that mixed between he and the other children of Gabriel that made him feel a tinge of bitterness. It soured his mouth at the thought of it. They did not accept him, nor his brothers, as the tree-named trio would accept them. It was such a difference that he saw in the raising of pups, Anu had done her best. And as a result her sons were open minded and respected those that deserved it full-heartedly.

The russet wolf gave a huff at the thought, shaking his head to dismiss the past and half siblings that scorned him. He knelt to the ground, dark fingers touching the cold trail of a deer. It had stepped there a day ago, its scent light and fleeting. The land would not be as plentiful as he had hoped, and found no reason to shift down to his hunting form. Instead he flicked at the near branch of a tree, thoughts wandering as fluidly as he pace.

It was not long before his ears twitched, picking up the sound of a instrument. Oak paused, the scent of water had come to him some time before but now he trailed it as he did the music. The lake had been the site of the Winter Festival, but the merchants had long packs up their goods and left the lands. It was peaceful, Oak noticed as he caught a glimpse of water through the trees, when the world was returned to it’s rightful state. Glancing to his left the Dreamer noticed the origin on the tune. Curious, as his was his nature, Oak turned and made his way towards the stranger.

Once he was close enough, a friendly distance still between them, Oak gave a wave and spoke, Hello there.

Bran is by Kiri!

The caramel troublemaker had settled on top of the boulder, his back flat against the rock, left leg crooked and right leg crossed over it so that the foot hung free and bobbed lightly as his tune continued. Brown eyes couldn't quite decided whether they wanted to be open or closed- instead they alternated between staring at the sky, searching for stars, and being closed in contentment of the sweet music playing. The soft hum in his throat was threatening to break out into a song, but the male didn't want to ruin the tune with his rough baritone voice. Plus, he would have had to have stopped playing the flute in order to sing, and the sweet melody was too delicious to stop. It created creamy tastes in the back of his mouth that were far too addicting. It was one of the reasons he preferred to play on his own- he could never show just how much he enjoyed the music in front of his brother.

He was lost in the music, the tastes springing forth at the back of his mouth and the bright splashes of silver across his eyelids. He could get lost in the patterns his colours made, but the night sky was beginning to release its selfish grip on the stars, releasing them one by one like a petulant child returning something stolen. Bran was lucky enough that the silver splashes remained once he opened his eyes, lighting up his view of the night like an orchestra. His silvery display was interrupted however as a dark zigzag of brown crossed his eyesight and he paused his musical ditty. At the same time, a musky taste assaulted his tongue before a russet wolf emerged from the trees around the lake. Bran sat up, a half-smile on his face as a wave was given, followed by a warm and meaty greeting.

Good evenin' to ye, laddie. M'names Bran Stormbringer"

The familiar taste of his own voice- deer meat mixed with a little sprig of rosemary that always seemed to fill him up. He made no move to get off the boulder, although he straightened up so he could look at the male properly. He looked to be about the same age as himself, strong and healthy with a collective pack scent to him that Bran could not yet place.

[html] hope you dont mind short posts lol Smile

There was something overly interesting about the cream and brown wolf. Oak looked him over as he turned to face him, from dark ears to crossed sooty foot paws. The Dreamer took a few more steps closer, the strangers greeting a bit mystifying at first though but no doubt cordial. Oak gave a wide smile, feeling overtly cheerful already. I’m Oak. He replied, but then thought a moment about the name of the other male. Stormbringer? Related to Niernan? The meeting with the shadowy wolf had been an interesting one. Oak had taken down, well with help of the other male, a large buck. The hunt had been successful and the thought of it caused his tail to wag.

The Dreamer felt that the distance wasn’t necessary and walked a bit closer to the rock on which the accented spoken male sat.

Bran is by Kiri!

The russet wolf took a few steps closer, snapping a twig and causing a soft riot of green circles to flash across his eyes. Bran had never thought his colours, shapes and tastes were strange and he had most enjoyed the displays that interaction with others made for him. He turned his head back towards the newcomer, brown eyes warm for a moment as he introduced himself. That would explain where the musky taste came from- Bran now identified it as something woody, almost smokey on the back of his tongue. Swallowing to try and rid himself of the flavour, Bran extended a hand for the russet wolf, now identified as Oak, to shake. A quick squeeze of the hand, or not, depending on Oak's reaction, before the male returned his hand to his flute.

Chocolate ears twitched momentarily as his last name was given, that woodsy, musky taste returning as well as a darker taste, most likely triggered by his last name. Of course, he sat up a little more when the russet male asked if he was related to Niernan. A soft chuckle escaped him as he thought about his brother. Niernan might be a little overbearing at times, and his love for that kitten was something Bran would never understand, but when his brother was on top form, Bran knew there was no-one on this planet that he would rather be with. They had yet to find much in the was of mischief yet on Nova Scotia, but there was always room for improvement in that area. Brown eyes turned back to Oak, amusement dancing in their depths.

"He's ma bruther- why, wha's he bin up ta?

Bran chuckled, wondering on what circumstances the two had met. The darkness was something that the male had always enjoyed and tonight was no different. Noticing the male had moved closer, Bran automatically shifted, shuffling to the side to allow room for the other man to jump up if he so pleased.

Bran reacted in the very same way Oak had in regards to his own brothers. A bit surprised at the reference, and then a lighthearted laugh. Oak took a few steps closer, taking the other male’s shift on the rock as an invitation to sit beside him. He and I took a large buck down not too long ago. Nice fellow. He remarked after his explanation. Oak wondered if Bran had been with his brother if the two Stormbringers would have chased him off away from the kill. Oak hoped that Bran had gotten a bit of the remains after the two males feasted.

Oak then sat, figuring that he and Bran were on okay terms. Climbing up the rock was simple, and he faced the same direction as the brownish male. The Dreamer crossed his legs and straightened his back as he gave into his curiosity. You two are loners, right?
