OOC Mar 20

He wasn't sure how he'd been talked into this. After the excitement in the pack Hadley had wanted to stay close, make sure nothing bad happened to the place he called home. Instead Selene had shown up a few days later, bubbling about the idea of the two of them going away someplace together. Unable to turn her down Hadley had found himself apologizing to Wayne about borrowing a horse and gently riding out after Selene. They had traveled for a few days, with Hadley on edge about what would happen with them out from the safety of the pack. He'd stayed sharp and alert, making sure to find safe places for them to stay at night. At least, safeish. He wasn't very good at judging that kind of stuff, his mind telling him that Amy could get to him anywhere.

The mountains wrapped around them now. There had been no traces of other canines for a while now, the last pack left behind. Traveling through the open space Hadley looked around quietly. He knew that Selene had a destination in mind, he just wasn't sure what. His butt was sore from riding on a horse for so long without being used to it, and he really wanted to get off and walk. The horse was needed though, and his riding skills had been improving through the trip.

For days she had dreamed this, thought about a happy get-away with Hadley. Somewhere beautiful, dreamy and completely worthwhile. Call her a bit frazzle-brained, but technically the pair were a couple. And relationships had to be kept happy.

At first, she hadn't told him of the trip. She had secretly packed things ranging from food to warm fur blankets. Even a tent! They couldn't possibly go anywhere and sleep in the snow. The tent had been a very lucky find, all wrapped neatly in a soft bag. The poles shone like new. If only she knew how to set it up. The things were kept in an unseen pile underneath a blanket, hopefully not noticed by her hunk of a roommate.

There. That's when she leapt upon him with the idea of a short vacation. He agreed, but was rather tentative about traveling. He saddled up a separate horse and they left. Uka carried much of the things, they could easily pass as traveling merchants with the large surplus of supplies. To the chocolate female, this was a dream.

For days she had tried to set up the tent. Failing miserably when attempting to read over the very difficult instructions. They had abandoned it on the trail, too bad. Now where would they sleep? A cave? A dug out den? Under the stars? Sel pondered over these choices as they listened to the clip-clip of hooves. Looking back to her mottled companion, Selene gave a grin and teasingly asked "Still got legs on you? I think it's time we rest..." She slid off her horse, throwing the supplies gently into a pile on the ground, and letting go of the reins to let him graze along the new mountain grasses, soon the rest of the snow would be melted. And this would be a wonderland.

The sun would be going down soon, sunset to descend over the world. It would certainly be wise of the small hybrid to get settled with Hadley. There was a large inviting cave ahead, immediately Sel found herself lightly sprinting to check it out. It was dark yes, and uninhibited. "Hadley! It's perfect...Well stay dry this time." Red eyes glittered with awe, she had never really slept in a cave before. Well, there was Anathema. But that didn't really count. It wasn't her own space. Jogging back, the young coydog picked up handfuls of the supplies, looking back to grin thoughtfully at Hadley. "It's perfect...Wanna help me take the stuff there? We can start a fire 'n everything." This was so amazing! It was simply vast untouched land for their delight! [/html]

OOC here!

Hadley groaned as Selene teased him about the soreness of his body. There wasn't much he could do about it, just letting his body get used to it. He'd suffered worse luckily, which meant when he got off the horse his body didn't reveal the stress he was under, able to move as swiftly as if he wasn't aching all over the place and feeling like he'd been pulled apart. Selene pulled over, and Hadley slid off the horse gladly. He looked over at the sun, starting to dip down over the world, the light blue beginning to hold tinges of the darker blue that would soon overcome it.

Watching the small hybrid bounce away Hadley smiled gently. She was always so eager, if shy to seek out what she wanted. Once she did though, there was no stopping her. He picked up the supplies that had been brought along and followed her into the cave. He was glad they no longer had the tent, not trusting the strange contraption that Selene had been dragging along. It reminded him too much of Amy's wagon. Gently he laid down the furs that they would be sleeping in, and cleared a spot to start the fire. Nervously he headed out, gathering some wood before returning and lighting it, giving a soft warm glow to the cave. Glancing over to Selene Hadley smiled shyly before ducking back down, returning to working with the fire.

I notice Sel flirts with him more now... What happened? Big Grin

As they packed the things to the cave, Sel couldn't help but look amazed at the structure of the rock form, it was just splendid to have nature craft such habitable places just for those lucky souls. She patted the furs down, arranging them into a loose meaty pile of softness and warmth. Of course, Hadley and herself would have to share the makeshift bed, how different from Casa was it anyway?

Hadley began to make a nice warm fire, under his touch the small pile of dry wood and twigs turned into a beautiful controlled inferno, this was their warmth. This was their light. Outside, the sun was slipping behind the other hills surrounding the secluded cave, soon dusk would be upon them. And dusk upon a mountain would be breathtaking. In her mind the young coywolf reminded to show him when the time came. As he brought the fire to life, the young woman wanted to try something. Something she could do on her own accord. Something that would likely leave her shivering with the knowledge that she was this close to such a wonderful being.

Padding quietly to his side, Sel knelt down beside him, careful not to get too close to the fire. A tongue lapped out to carefully catch the end of his muzzle. Realization hit, this was the first kiss of the day. She felt rather guilty for paying better attention to the scenery than her own companion. Sel would have taken the kiss a little further, giving a true one for luck. Alas, there still was that budding shyness, and her more outgoing self was still developing.

Smiling, Selene danced away on slender toes to unpack the rest of the supplies. She set out more furs and her sword, their only protection in this vast world thru had found themselves in. "Hadley-" Selene finally spoke, trailing off thoughtfully. "How's the vacation going for you?" Sel twirled her tail behind her happily, "I think it's going pretty well...I'm with good company."

OOC here!

Hadley watched the fire closely, jumping slightly as Selene appeared like a ghost beside him. He glanced over, relieved to see that it was just her and returned to feeding the fire more, building it up so that it would keep going for a nice long time. Surprisingly Selene leaned closer. He looked up with surprise just in time to be caught with a shy lick to his muzzle. It lingered for a moment before Selene pulled back again.

She danced up, putting distance between them. Bemused Hadley watched her slender form moving across. He watched the one weapon they had taken out. Truly it made him nervous, how vulnerable they were. The only thing he could really do to protect Selene was use some of those defense moves he'd been taught, buying time for her to escape before he got butchered. Watching her tail swirling around it took him a moment to focus on the question. Blushing deeply he turned to face the fire again, hoping Selene wouldn't pick up on his lack of focus. Good. His vocabulary still hadn't grown much, remaining quiet, though he now spoke his opinion when it was asked, just not good at initiating.

Selene swept the air with a tawny tail, the fluffy banner swishing happily behind her slender form. This had worked! The day was lovely and the cave was amazing. Selene slipped off the cloak she had donned earlier in the day, throwing it aside for later. The cave somehow kept the nice warmth in the small place, tonight she wouldn't shiver. She stopped her pacing delightedly to recline on the furs, rolling on her stomach to relax. Her legs hurt,  the hours of somehow having to endure the bumpy trail on a horse's back was so irritating. Lifting her head, Selene invited Hadley to sit or lay with her, whatever he liked. She gestured with her muzzle, smiling as se did so.

He liked the trip, which was a good thing knowing it was her plan. "That's nice to hear--I though this would be good...For us." In a way it was, there had been some stress in Casa di Cavalieri, and there was nothing like a serene vacation with ones you cared about to sooth those demons.

Fingers gently fondled with the corner of the fur blanket, idly stroking the soft fur with slender fingers. "Hadley...I wanted to let you know that I care about you...I've always wanted to let you know that...And I do...I care." Shyly and sincerely, the young coydog dipped her tiara to shyly and sheepishly grin. This how Sel liked to celebrate life. With sincerity and honesty, something she so knew to use. Eyes peered out to the soon to set sun, dark crimson orbs found his own eyes and she asked quietly "Would you want to see the sun fall with me later?"

OOC here!

Hearing something hit the ground Hadley glanced up. The cloak Selene had been wearing to keep warm was now tossed aside, revealing her full form. It was slender, youthful in appearance. She stretched out on the furs, and it looked like he wasn't the only one that was sore from the riding. He glanced at the fire one last time before stepping over to join her, sitting down on the furs to be close by. Hearing that she'd thought it would do them some good Hadley nodded. Leaving the pack did turn him into a bundle of nerves, but time away from the pressure of needing to please everyone was nice for the timid male.

The same assurance he'd heard so many times came from Selene's lips. He wasn't a big talker, wasn't one to say things like she did. Instead he simply wrapped his arms around her, laying down beside her. It would be...nice. Hadley offered one of the few simple opinions he held, still shy and developing. He almost felt like he needed to check that it was alright to enjoy such a thing before biting his tongue and simply letting himself relax next to her.

Selene felt his warm strong arms wrap around her body, he didn't speak like she did back. But she knew that he meant something. Before, Sel didn't know at all. She didn't know if his embraces were given for the sake of no feelings. But this, this was enough. Words in an action. A tongue once again trailed out to touch his arm, holding him gently in her not-as-strong arms.

He agreed on the sunset thing, and happily the girl found her tail waving behind her. Sunsets were pretty, and it was unimaginable to think of how it would appear from such a high place. There would be color coming from all sides of the world, just for their eyes. A small yawn parted the lean muzzle of the petite coydog, before settling back down into the furs. The ride to the mountains had taken a large amount of energy out of Selene, hopefully though she'd be strong enough to stand the rest of the hours.

The girl felt as if she was being pulled towards Hadley without him even trying. She wanted to hold him, kiss his face. It had to be this pretty place, so relaxing and wonderfully romantic in her opinion. Fiery eyes softly watched the flickering flames, watching it as if magic. It was. It was forged form Hadley's hands. Her small hands gently rubbed at his back, massaging his muscles after the tedious trip. "We're in paradise now." Sel murmured quietly into his ear.

Finally, after a long while of holding him close, the sun had retreated far enough to splash the skies with brilliant pinks and purples, oranges in some places. "It's started!" The tawny woman yelped, hoping that she wouldn't miss it. A hand gripped one of his own, attempting to pull him towards the door with her.

Feeling her tongue run along his arm Hadley smiled, burying his head down into her hair. He was too shy to do such a thing, though he knew by know that holding her was alright. He wished he had the courage to do more, but he didn't. He simply held her close, wishing with all his heart that she understood everything that he couldn't say. Selene's tail thumped against his legs softly, bringing an answering reply from his own, banging gently against the furs.

Selene moved around, slowly rubbing into his back. Hadley winced every once in a while when she hit a knot, but her deft hands worked it out, leaving him to feel even better afterwards. He had to agree with Selene's words, nodding along happily. He was perfectly relaxed. The moment stretched on forever, before the soft colors of the setting sun began to filter into their cave. Selene leaped up, tugging Hadley after her. Obediently he followed. It was quite a sight to see, a blazing orange ball of fire slowly sinking over the sky. Glancing around Hadley found a place that seemed to fit what they needed, a smooth large rock that could fit both of them. He lead her over and sat down, scooping Selene up to snuggle with him. Looking out he watched the pinks and purples dance through the setting sky.

Selene grinned happily as the mottled hybrid went with her to the mouth of the cave, exiting the dark to enter a huge beautiful window of colors. Crimson eyes reflected the different arrays of hues, this was just overwhelming. Sel couldn't hide her amazement and wonderment. Was it possible to see it in such wide definition back at the pack? Maybe not. The whole land below was easily seen, a whole panoramic view just for them. "Hadley--Wow! This is amazing!" He had seemed to have found a good place to sit, pulling her up easily like a ragdoll to sit and cuddle.

Sel made herself comfortable, settling easily into him.  It was fascinating, seeing the colors paint themselves over the sky. "This is so pretty...Thanks for coming with me-It wouldn't be as...Special." The young coydog smiled, looking up in his arms. After, there was silence. The young woman tried her best to take a picture in her mind of this, memorize the fiery escapade of the sun forever. As it dimmed down a little, Sel lifted her dark head to nuzzle under his chin, finding herself happier seeing such a wonder. "We're so lucky to see this--I don't think it looks the same in Casa." There was many trees that blocked this sight from their view from the window, and buildings all around.

Selene was a little disappointed that the vividness of the sun was slowly fading to a dark blue, oranges and colors of excitement were dying down for the night.

OOC here!

The sky blazed with more color than he'd ever seen before. Maybe it was because of the height, maybe it was because he'd traveled so far to see something amazing, or maybe it was because Selene was with him, but Hadley couldn't remember seeing anywhere colors that burned brighter or were more alive before. Selene nestled into his body body perfectly. Always she fit with him so wonderfully, as if they were two parts of the same piece. It was a silly idea, but one that stayed.

They were both silent as the sun slowly sank down. The cold began to creep over the ground, the temperature dropping without the sun's welcoming presence to hold it. Very lucky. It was the only words he spoke to break the peace around them. A single golden piece of the sun remained, lingering, as if wanting to let the moment last. It slipped underneath though, and the sky hung a deep purple above them, stars glittering through the sky.

I FINALLY found this table deep in my iPod's notes Big Grin

It was breathtaking! Sel found herself so utterly amazed with the fact that this was a sight just for them. Her hand clutched his tightly, as if this world of beauty would just vanish from her sight along with Hadley. The colors started to fade as if tired, are retreating back to the dark blue. The air was starting to cool, but stars poked out of the clouds. It was amazing, having the wonder of seeing this; if she would be laughing or crying in either retrospect.

Her arms clung to his frame happily, black gloved fingers nestling into his thick fir. The sun had lingered for a while, giving them one last taste of the radiance it had given them. As soon it had completely disappeared, Sel looked a little disappointed. "So, what do we do now? We can stay and watch for those old satellite things...Or go back to the cave?" She had seen satellites before, not really knowing what they were until someone had explained the principals of orbit. Why would the humans launch themselves that high? Did that mean there was other beings out there? The whole thought had the caramel female a little confused, was there?

At least they had found a good night to go sky watching, the air was cool but not cold. The sky was clear! [B]"This makes me happy." Selene smiled, poking him gently in the ribs. Reddish eyes turned skyward to see the twinkling dots of light. "Beautiful isn't it?"

OOC here!

Selene's grip on his hand was firm. It almost felt like she was afraid that she'd drift away from it all, end up alone again. Hadley gripped her hand back, a reassuring one to let her know that she wouldn't be going anywhere, and neither would he. Hadley had had his fill of adventures outside the pack. He just wanted to stay in there from now on. Going out of it seemed a little frightening. With her body nested into him, long fingers intertwining through his fur, everything was wonderful. Looking up he smiled.

Hadley nodded softly at her words, unable to tell her that the sight he was looking at was the wonder and happiness in her eyes, and not the sky above them. He looked up, his breath catching as a brilliant white star streaked across the sky. It was beautiful, a flickering light above them. Glancing down at Selene he wondered if she had seen it too. He hoped she had, as beautiful as it was. It flashed out in a moment, but it was still wonderful to see before it passed down the horizon, chasing the sun.

Oh yeah, she's finally growing up Bria. You're totally right Big Grin

Sel watched the sky with immense awe, holding him tightly as if to force him to look upon the beauty they had so luckily witnessed tonight.  Her tongue let itself graze gently over his throat, soft and affectionate. Lately, the girl had noticed herself coming out of her shell with the mottled man, her gentle affections and attentions became much more, quite a bit more forward. Eh. Who really cared. She adored Hadley. Wasn't he the one that was supposed to know the most?

Something bright caught the young girl's attention from her peripheral view, and she found herself following the tail of a shooting star with her eyes. In a way, it reminded her of fireflies. Spreading their radiance across the darkening sky.  Selene had never spotted something like that, the magnitude of wonder and amazement heightened, crying out "You saw that right? That was amazing! Make a wish! " In her joy, Sel admittedly felt somewhat closer to Hadley. Having just them share these sights. "I'll always remember this." Her wish was already spent, to have Hadley be with her for a long time, forever would be too high a shot to get. It was a very daring and difficult wish to actually want, knowing that relationships didn't last too long. But she so wanted to have something with him! Something special, soft and sweet. Something that she could easily recognize as feelings. They were together now weren't they? Well pretty much considering the amount of time they spend in eachother's arms, and the time spent just being alone. Anyone would call that something. Better than nothing, she thought.

As it disappeared quickly behind the neighboring mountains, Sel sighed happily and with much contentment. Was there going to be more amazing sights? Slithering off the rock, Selene felt a burst of adrenaline. It confused her. Where was this coming from? Sharp canines nipped lightly at his leg, letting her cold nose prod hin playfully before dancing away on slender legs. "Gotta catch me now!" Selene yipped in her high singing coyote voice, bounding away a few feet on two legs. Playing under the stars. What could be more entertaining? Tail waving behind her, Sel studied her companion. Would he try to? Would he just stay on the rock to watch the stars? The land was fairly flat up here, few rocks and branches to run into. "It'll be fun." She looked likes creature of the light, whatever light left in the sky lit up her silky fur, longish slender legs graceful in her movements. If only Hadley noticed her more. Eyes glowing, she managed to say something rather bold. This was paradise after all! "Darlin' we can do whatever we want! Anything! And there's no one to tell us not to!" This was their freedom, the land's promise of no harm.

OOC is she going to eat hadley? keeps on tasting him XD

Hadley was surprised at the strong grip Selene wrapped around him. He couldn't really fight against it or anything. She was surprisingly strong for someone as small as she was. Her cry of joy at the sight of the star had him smiling, watching the night sky reflected in her red eyes. They seemed to hold the entire sky inside, all the life and light he could ever want. Make a wish? Hesitantly he glanced up to where the star had been before disappearing. What did he wish for? He was still so uncertain about his life, not knowing what he wanted.

Silently he wished to always be this content and happy, to always have her with him. It was selfish, causing him to duck his head down shyly. Maybe he should have wished for something else. Sharp teeth brought him out of his thoughts. Immediately Hadley curled up, wondering what he'd done wrong to get punished. Selene's cold nose prodded him, and he nervously looked over to see her playfully glancing up at him. His heart was chilled as he realized this was a game. Games were terrifying. Her command was followed by him coming to his feet, shifting nervously before moving towards the sprite before him. She seemed so full of life, hard to associate with the fear he felt. The ability to do whatever they wanted did sound fun. He broke into a slow run, his large strides quickly closing the gap between them.

Hmm...I don't think she wants to eat him...Because she'd just end up pooping him out...And that wouldn't make a happy Selene. SHE'S JUST SO SO IN love

For a moment the chocolate female found herself worried he'd decline, think of her play as stupid and childish. Instead, he lowered himself off the rock, loping towards her. A small frown graced the young female's features noticing, but the mottled hybrid seemed to react okay to the game. It was amazing how quickly he reached her, his tall long body finding her in an instant. Tail flicking, Sel found herself slipping away, tail brushing gently at his back as she playfully flitted away. A laugh tinkled from her lips, creamy banner waving happily in the open air.

Her energetic facade died down admittedly, her breath ran in quick deep breaths and her body began to react to the loss of energy. Approaching him, Sel held out her hands for him. The lean woman brought herself to wrap small arms around his barrel chest, breathing in after her running. It was embarrassing how her adrenaline hadn't lasted as long, yet having herself pressed neatly to his body was a supreme comfort.

Selene finally lay herself on the soft ground beneath their feet, dark hair ringing around her face. The stars winked at her from their dark blanket of blue, spreading a smile across her face. "Hadley...I'm so lucky to have you here with me." Frowning to help her words flow with more consistency, Selene finished "Its been a beautiful night with you." For some strange reason, laying on the ground and speaking up came as nothing to blush or act strange about. Sel was strange anyway.

OOC here!

Hadley reached Selene, a little worried about what would happen once he managed. His hands grasped her for a moment, but she slipped out like a wisp of smoke he'd tried to hold. She twisted around, sending him spinning around, bemused as her tail gently brushed against his back as she danced over the ground. Hadley followed, starting to catch on to the fact that it was more than a game, a dance of courtship. He had been chosen.

Just as swiftly as it had started Selene turned around. Her chest heaved with deep breaths, drawing his eyes. Blushing he quickly looked down to the ground as Selene came over, wrapping her arms around his body. He touched her hair gently before she pulled away, laying on the ground. She moved so quickly, befuddling him. He came and laid beside her, looking at her before moving his gaze to the twinkling stars above. Her words brought a nod of confirmation as he turned and looked at her.

I should have mentioned looong ago, Sel has ADHD...She tends to...Fly between moods and actions C:

The way Sel had flitted around reminded her much of those fairies and sprites she had read about in books, causing mischief and being so tricky that no one could catch them. The dance around him had been unexpected in her eyes, the way she had dashed around him teasing him lightly with her tail. Maybe it was flirting, probably. Or maybe it was just the immense happiness seeing such wonders that night.

The girl with the name of the moon grinned softly as he lay down beside her on the soft soil, fingers gently stroking his hair. A soft smile spread from the corners of her black muzzle, he sure knew how to make her grin! One of her own delicate fingers trailed up and down his ribs, finding that place the only reachable and touchable area to gently massage. This was so beautiful, to be with him. But just as terrifying. Reddish eyes swerved skyward, hands rested gently under her chest. "I want to remember this...Even when I'm old and alone....That you've changed my life in so many good ways...I just--want this to last...Unfortunately nothing ever seems to last " They were the words from her soul, her Heart's deepest speech. Her eyes closed sadly, thinking on her impossible wish. Why did she do that? How could she? How could she spend her wish that way when clearly it was not going to happen?

Her moods were so confusing, flitting from one to another without haste or second thought. Truly, the Italian's life was just as confusing and corrupted. Having so long of times alone, no one special to cling to to cease the nightmares. Burying her head in his chest, Sel thought of all those times like that. Without strength or hope, if only...All those times her life had been hanging by a simple thread, all those times she could have been laying bloodied and dead. Torn asks pitiful. Without realizing it, she was softly crying into Hadley's chest. Looking up with bleary eyes, Sel gently wove her fingers into his fur. "They hurt me so much...I dont what them to hurt you....I'm scared...For everything....Us..." Would anyone threaten Hadley or herself soon? Would she be dead before the point in her life where she could hopefully say "I do"? Would he have already left her, knowing she was a complete fool who just wanted someone to cling to forever?

Selene's small hand danced over his chest. It felt strange, feeling something non threatening touch him there, light as a feather. She was so close to where the knife had cut into him, yet didn't brush his scars. A shiver went through him, though whether it was from fear, enjoyment, or even simply the cold, he didn't know. His ears pricked at her words. There was nothing he could say to comfort her this time, believing the same thing, that nothing good could last. Always, something bad would happen. It was a struggle to not sink into his fear, to not return to living as a slave, an old familiar skin.

He wanted something more than that though, and he would fight for it. There was a reason to fight, the one nested into his chest, crying softly. Her words had him stroking her. Slowly he sat up, pulling her closer. Nothing will hurt you. Will protect you. Don't be afraid anymore. It was the longest speech he'd said since becoming a slave. The sentences were short, but there was meaning in them, meaning he hoped she felt.

Sleek hands gently gripped his shoulders as the small hot tears fell slowly from her eyes. Something would either kill them, or take Hadley from her. That was the way life went, kill off the weak. Hadley wasn't weak. She was. Ole strong blow and she would be out of it. His words brought comfort though, his bands gently stroking her body. She didn't know to hold him close, rumble happily with his touch. Both she would do desperately, happily to be in his arms. "Hadley...I-" Again, her words were cut off as her lean muzzle slipped into his neck and throat fur, arms gently holding him at his sides. "We should head back to the cave...I think the fire's out...And in cold..."

Quietly, Selene lifted her head to nuzzle at his chin, small hands weaving into his hair. "I'm sorry....I'm just do used to being alone that it seems...It'll happen again..." Reddish eyes flitted away, still a little the scared of being left behind.

Pulling gently away, Selene let her hand grasp his before turning towards the cave. "I...Love you Hadley." A whisper fell from her lips, tail dropped as she turned back. She approached the mouth of the cave, head tilting as she noticed the dying coals near her feet. The furs looked inviting enough, they could light the embers later.

There was times when the young woman just wanted to hold him close, tell him over and over again how she wanted to be with him forever, kiss him until her breath was gone. That was one of the moments now. Settling herself on the furs, the lithe girl wrapped skinny arms about her knees, comfortable watching the dying flames.
