Somethings just need a good cleaning

He had finally found the book store that Orin had told him about. He knew from the outside that someone was taking care of it. It was a two story wooden building that seemed to be the best kept out of all of them , and he wondered who took care of it. Orin? The woman did have some knowledge of the place.

His horse nudged him softly from behind. He had helped it just earlier today and already the stallion was proving to be obedient and well trained. He had found the horse in the forrest in the middle of the pack lands. It had been stuck in some mud and he had helped it out out of the kindness of his heart. As soon as it was out it had nudged his shoulder and neighed. After a short talk with it he had taken it to the river and cleaned its coat up,finding that the stallion wasn't the brown he thought it was but a nice cream color with a brown and white mane and tail. It followed him every where he went so after making a makeshift rope out of twine he took it back to the barn where he brushed him and found he answered to the name Russell. After finding a blanket to put on the horses back he had gone looking for things he might need to clean up a place. He had successfully found rope, a broom and a slightly broken but useful small flat bottomed boat he would use to put his things in and have Russell drag behind him like a sleigh. After some more exploration he was able to gather everything he would need to clean up the bookstore and make it not only clean but livable.

He tied Russell to the post outside of the bookstore before going up the steps and opening the slightly stuck door and going inside the bookstore for the first time. Dust had accumulated over the years on shelves and on the floor. Paw prints from others being inside were noticeable in the patches of light that came though the dirty windows. off to the side he could see the stairs leading to upstairs were still in really good shape. Some of the old human books lay on the floor. He noticed a counter and a few tables in the room next to the bottom of the stairs. The store room door was off to the right and seemed to be the only place that looked to be kept up. As he took a walk around the book area of the building he found that despite the dust many of the books and the shelves remained intact, the wood that made the shelves sturty and strong. There were many many shelves and he couldn't wait to start reading some of them.

He then walked over to the store room to find everything Orin was talking about. Ink, quills, parchment, and a whole lotta other things that he couldn't wait to use and experiment with. He backed out and shut the door before her got carried away. After checking out the other room he made his way upstairs. There were ink splotches on the floor in some spots and there was a slight feminine scent. Other then that he didn't notice much. He left the room and went back down stairs. There were dust monsters on the inside and he was ready to clean up and knew it would be cleaned sooner if he started now.

After finding his broom and smiling he set out to sweep up the layers of dust that had accumulated inside. After everything was dedusted he worked faster then he thought he would and swept the floors. It excited him to finally go look at all the things in the store room and as he went though some of the stuff he notice a scent of Orin on a lot of it. He couldn't place the scent when he was up stairs but now he understood. Orin might have lived there at one point. He couldn't live here if she claimed it for her own. Now he would really have to talk to the woman again.Something seemed really off about her and it bothered him that he couldn't play with Sarian but he understood where the woman was coming from. Maybe she had had a hard past and it was not his place to judge another. He started putting the stuff back. It wasn't his to go though. He did find a well preserved leather bound book some ink and a few writing pens. He walked over to the stairs and sat down and began to write about his day.

Dear journal....
