Her leg hurt so much. Terra had never broken a bone before, so she supposed this was normal to an extent, but while the rest of her was healing it seemed her leg would never get better. It felt the same as it had when she'd first come back to the pack, stabbing pains in her leg whenever she moved it around. While the other wounds on her body were starting to heal, scabs and scars starting to form, the leg seemed to have not improved at all.

Irritated by it Terra looked around to make sure that the king's house was empty before twisting her head around. Teeth set onto the broken leg, biting at it painfully. She just wanted the pain to go away. Each time she bit down a wave of pain ran through her body, leading her to attacking it even more viciously than she had before. The wrapping around her leg was soon a bloody mess, torn with her leg dripping blood from her constant chewing.

She had only just heard about the calamity that had befallen her friend and Caspa had immediately rushed to grab her coat, without even taking the time to empty the deep pockets containing all her worldly possessions, and hurry at her fastest walk to the residence of the King. She had only been here once before, to deliver Skoll safely home after a midnight escapade. She had not come inside.

She prayed to the spirit that her friend had not been injured as badly as she had been. Her own broken bones were still tender, and the enforced rest had been frustrating enough for her. How would Terra cope - such a lively quickfire of a restless spirit - with convalescence?

At the threshold Caspa hesitated, the scents of the Haskel family overridden by the fresh scent of blood. Her jaw set, not that it was capable of many other expressions in its broken state. She would have waited to be formally admitted, but nobody answered her quiet whine. The fresh blood was strange - it was too fresh, too raw a scent, like a hurt just inflicted. Concerned, the white hound swept inside and let her nose draw her like a magnet to the source. Terra was contorted in position, her bandages stained with fresh blood: she worried at it, and there was the look of pain in her eyes. Caspa's eyes shot wide open, then she launched herself at her friend, aiming to forcefully pin her down, immobilise her so she stopped her self-destructive behaviour. "Ridiculous woman! What are you doing?" she scolded, not sure whether the suffering coy-wolf could even hear her through the agony.

Something came towards her in a rush. All Terra really saw was a blur of white and blue moving towards her before something was gripping her. Eyes wide with surprise Terra thrashed slightly, trying not to agonize her pained leg. She didn't want to make it worse. At last she was forced down. Panting Terra laid out, her body pinned flat. She couldn't even move her head to see what had her pinned. A soft whine escaped her as Caspa's scent filtered into Terra's brain.

Her tail thumped against the ground, happy to see her. Except for one problem. She was pinned, and couldn't move. Softly Terra struggled against the grip holding her down before giving up. Let go. Her voice held a whine, obviously upset and bored by this action. Terra had nothing to do, so she might as well have been doing that. With Caspa here though all kinds of things could be done to take her mind off the pain and keep herself entertained.

Her instinctive reaction now struck her as an overreaction, but at least it had worked. Terra felt limp and tired beneath her, as could only be expected from a canine in pain. Caspa couldn't let her make her own injuries any worse. "One moment." She crossed a forearm across Terra's forelegs, effectively holding down both of her limbs at once, but she didn't think much force would be necessary: the coy-wolf should trust her by now, surely. With her other hand Caspa dug into one of her ragged coat pockets, and pulled out a tiny crystal vial. "This will help. Open up," she instructed in urgent tones and lifted the glass to her mouth to bite down on the stopper, tugging at it to pull it out of the bottleneck, and then held the vial above Terra's mouth, still holding her as firmly as she could manage.

OOC terra was attacked in lupine, so she's stuck in lupine

A displeased whine slid from Terra as Caspa didn't release her. No, instead she had to wait for something. Terra struggled moving her head around. The grip shifted, letting Terra stare at Caspa. Her eyes burned with anger at being held down. The arm crossed across her body, with Terra too exhausted from her struggling earlier to be able to fight back. It soon faded into curiosity as Caspa rummaged through the pocket in her coat. Much like her magic coat, Caspa's seemed to have limitless items in there, always ready for the occasion.

A small shiny crystal was pulled out. Terra watched as the top was pulled off, revealing a liquid inside. Curiously she sniffed at the contents, wondering what it was. Caspa said it would help. Trusting that her friend wouldn't do anything that would harm her Terra took the vial in her mouth and drank down the contents. She looked up at Caspa expectantly, not yet feeling the effects of what had been given to her. What was that supposed to do?

Ohh, sorry! I'll edit now. And Caspa wouldn't have poured the entire vial out

She really owned very little, but the poppy juice was her most valuable item - except maybe the snake venom. Mixed with alcohols, she'd made a sort of laudanum. This was her version of medicine: it removed pain and misery. Of course, Malachi had warned her about the addictive nature of it, and so Caspa indulged very rarely. She had an iron will, but she knew that it was easy to fall into the euphoric trap: she'd seen it back at home. So, she would not tell Terra the whole story.

"It helps with pain," she explained. "Just two drops, no more than twice a day. It is lethal in large doses." Her explanation utterly missing the stage of bliss and opiate-induced high that came first. "I'll make sure you get it until the worst of the pain is over." She moved back slowly, watching Terra with hawk-like eyes for signs of relief, or signs of her rushing back to attack her own wound. She would grab her again if she had to, but for now the coyote-wolf was free. "So was this another trick gone wrong?" Caspa asked, a faint tang of dry humour in her voice although it cracked with concern. She didn't want her friend to be crippled, or get a dangerous infection. This was no laughing matter.

OOC here.

Her ears flattened with worry as Caspa informed her that Terra just might have been poisoned from gulping at the vial so. She hadn't emptied it, but she'd definitely taken more than a couple drops. Helps with the pain? It was said that the pain vanished at the end when death came for one, but surely the dog wouldn't have done that to her. The room swam slightly, Terra pushing herself back in a panic. This was not good. She was dying now, wasn't she. Had taken too much by accident. That would be a good way to go. It was as good as the cougar who got her. Nah, just faced a cougar with too much attitude.

It really wasn't her business anyways. Or was it? Things were swimming in the room, Terra knew she was going to die, and everything seemed kinda funny. At least the pain was fading away. Terra blinked slowly, laying down to let death claim her in peace. After a couple minutes of laying like that Terra got bored waiting for death. It sure was taking it's sweet time. Lifting her head again Terra looked at where Caspa used to be. Blinking her eyes Terra giggled at the comical balloon figure that stood in her place. Hey, where'd you come from? Stretching over Terra moved to chew on the balloon creature, curious what it would taste like.

As she looked again at her vial, she mentally kicked herself. The usual dropper was not screwed on beneath the lid, and so more than the couple of recommended drops must have fallen into Terra's mouth. Being small and sparely built wouldn't help her resist the effects either. It would not kill her, at least. Not more than a millimetre had vanished from the level of the bottle, and it would take the whole thing to do that. But Caspa found herself eyeing her friend very warily, now, checking for signs of drifting into the strange dreamworld the drug could thrust its partakers into.

It turned out it was a cougar. Caspa lifted her brows, impressed. "That will make a good story if you are left scarred," she mused. Anything to try to lift Terra's spirits. Although, when the giggling came, it became obvious that her spirits had already been quite effectively lifted by the chemicals in the drug. Caspa mentally prepared herself to coach the young woman through her first experience with the lofty heights of intoxication.

Suspiciously she got up from her seat on the edge of the bed and backed off, noticing the greedy light in Terra's eyes as the lupus formed woman advanced upon her, seeming not to recognise her. "It is me, Caspa. Lie back down," she commanded. Any further and the coywolf would be putting weight on that leg, which in her pain-resisting state could be very damaging. Caspa didn't want to have to sit on her again, but she would do so if the situation demanded.

The balloon creature got up, moving away from her. This left a very disappointed coyote behind. She'd just wanted to see what she tasted like. Her sorrow spiraled off from her, resulting in double the coyote. Looking over and seeing herself Terra giggled again. If there was two of them they'd have no problem taking the balloon thing down. The other seemed to nod in agreement, lightly leaping off the bed. It seemed to fly, taking up almost no weight. Wow. If that was her, she could probably do the same thing, couldn't she?

Told to lie back down Terra shook her head. I don't have to listen to you, Mr. Balloon. I'm the alpha! Giggles followed this declaration, Terra pushing herself up onto her legs unsteadily. Out of habit her back leg wasn't completely used, hanging just so slightly off the ground. It looked like the weight was there. I'm a great alpha, meesus. Look at me, falling off the bed. At the end of her declaration Terra moved, tipping herself over. Hitting the ground Terra became entangled in the blankets. Helplessly she struggled against it. Help! It's eating me!

Caspa entering secui form is inspired by your drawing! <3

She had started to think that the golden canine had settled down again now, although the random snatches of laughter weren't a good sign, so Caspa wasn't too surprised when her friend began to get up once more. The trouble with taking away the pain was that without it there as a warning, Terra might easily use the leg in a way that made it worse. Caspa couldn't allow that to happen, which was why she'd recommended such a low dose - at that level, a little pain would still be felt. Right now, though, she expected that Terra felt very little. Except for feeling extremely strange.

So as the coywolf raised herself up and then teetered towards the edge of the bed Caspa reacted in the best way she could imagine, shifting as fast as she could into her most massive and thick-limbed form, her paws simply immense compared to the rest of her. She then dived into the chaos of tumbling blankets and crouched over Terra again so that the coywolf could no longer writhe and wriggle. Caspa was several pounds heavier than her now, and so the idea came: roll Terra up in the blanket so she couldn't move. Caspa began to scrabble and paw at the coyote trickster with both front paws, attempting to turn her over and over and wrap the covers tightly around her body.

OOC cool Big Grin

Being eaten by the blankets wasn't much fun. Terra's laughter turned to growls as she began to bite and tear at the bindings around her. Something stepped up though, a large white form taking the blankets off her. Terra stared in awe at the massive white monster standing over her. Caspa...you got bigger. She blinked in surprise before trying to roll over to start moving. Unfortunately she was very effectively pinned in place by her friend at the moment. Whining she looked up. No fair. I want to get bigger too.

Luckily shifting took concentration, something she lacked, or she probably would have shifted then and there. Large paws began to push at her body, Terra rolling to get away. Unfortunately this seemed to be part of the plan, and no matter how clever a plan Terra came up with (roll away faster, stop rolling, roll more slowly), it continued. The blankets were secure around her body, leaving just her head poking out from a very large bundle. Dizzy from the spinning Terra shook her head. The entire room slid around, melting. I don't like this. She wanted to be outside. Outside couldn't melt. Too bad she couldn't move at all.

Terra was eventually reduced to little more than a cocoon of material, with a dazed coywolf head protruding at one end. Caspa sat down and regarded her with her head tilted at a considering angle. At least this would hold her still, but Terra seemed almost as unhappy as she'd been while chewing her leg open. "Well, then," Caspa remonstrated sadly, "You must learn to stay still without the need for such restraint." But she did feel sorry for her injured companion. "You are going to feel better in a moment, once you have rested and recovered your senses," she told Terra with certainty, knowing that sometimes just being told something could make it come true. She grasped the roll of fabric lightly in her now-massive jaws, and strained her neck and shoulder muscles: it was really quite amazing how light the lithe Baroness proved to be, as Caspa managed to lift her, blankets and all, carefully back onto the bed, where she pushed the hot-dog like object with her nose until the poor creature came to a rest with her head at what looked like the most comfortable angle. Then Caspa jumped up onto the bed and flopped down beside Terra, her scarred jaw falling between her immense forepaws. She knew she would have to remain at Terra's side until the strange mind-altering effects had worn off: she would never forgive herself if anything bad happened. "How do you feel now?" she inquired in steady tones after a moment.

OOC here.

The abnormally large Caspa set to studying her. Feeling everything zoom to larger proportions, her small body becoming even smaller Terra pulled back slightly. At least she was safe in the blankets, even if they had tried to eat her. Told to rest Terra shook her head firmly. I don't need to rest. I need liver! Lllliiiiver. LIver. Terra giggled, listening to the word. It was such a funny one. Deciding that the giant Caspa was right Terra sank down. It worked, feeling herself rise up through the air. Terra laughed as she flew around before landing down on the bed.

Concentrating Terra tried to make herself fly again. She had been weightless, no constraints on her body. Terra had rather liked that feeling. It appeared that it wouldn't let her fly though. She was stuck where she had landed. Twisting her head around Terra stuck it against the cool wall. It felt nice against her, draining heat from her body. Eyes half closed she looked over, finding that Caspa had vanished again to be replaced by some kind of white light. The light spoke, asking after her. Why did the light want to know? Terra shook her head, adamantly refusing. You're too bright.

Although the body was constrained in a tight package of fabric, the mind was under no such bounds and Caspa listened with mild interest to the tripping Terra's ravings, although she would neither encourage or attempt to steady them. Sooner or later the woman would come back down to earth, recover her senses - or at least as much as she ever had them in the first place. Caspa was interested, though to hear how her question was answered and one eye sneakily turned back to look at Terra, though her head remained facing straight-ahead. The coywolf disapproved of the question, evidently. The reason she gave, though, was peculiar. Caspa chose to take it in a less literal sense, unaware of her current fluorescent quality. "No, remember? I am the fool. You are the clever one." A strange intelligence it was though. Sometimes leading Terra to say things that Caspa knew there was no way she could possibly know. Decreeing death upon strangers and talking about her own future. Come to think of it, Terra was the last person Caspa would have ever wanted to see out of her mind. It was already seemingly quite a weird yet wonderful place, without the addition of strange alterations. It was then she noticed the screwed-up eyes, squinting at her as if she were the sun. Was that what Terra had meant? "I will close the curtains," Caspa stated uncertainly: perhaps the light was reflecting from her milky coat and hurting Terra's eyes. She got up and tugged at the heavy cloth till the windows were covered, not wishing to change from her strongest form until she was sure it would not be needed again. The room was thrown into a calm, shadowy state, although it was still possible to see by the faint sunlight that filtered in.

OOC here.

The light declared itself a fool, bringing barked laughter from Terra. Adamantly she shook her head. The light wasn't a fool. It wasn't a fool at all. You haven't earned that title! Only Caspa has. Know why? Terra waited as the light drifted over, closing the curtains. The room grew dim, nice and relaxing. Settling further into the blankets she watched her come back over. The light was dim now, like a star twinkling in the distance. It looked rather pretty. Vaguely Terra wondered if the light ate canines, or just floated around.

Indicating for the light to come closer Terra looked around. Shadows moved on the walls, acting highly suspicious, wanting her secrets. Whispering Terra met the light in the eyes. Caspa knows more than she says. She's wise, despite her innocence. It's an act, an act. Don't trust the fool, she'll trick you! Pulling back Terra nodded along, wisely agreeing with her own words. Yes, that was the truth of the matter. The fool was very innocent, but she knew more than she said.
