Injured Soul

OOC set for the day after the raid

Hadley was hurt. It wasn't as bad as some of the injuries other members had gained. His arms had lovely thin slices coating him, bleeding shallowly. His back had some sharp blows as well, a couple deeper cuts with some bruises, whether they were from the panicked horses or being hit by a raider lost in the confusion. His legs had a pair of slices along his thighs as well, just on the outer edge. They were his first injuries from a fight instead of a struggle against his tormentor. The very thought sent shudders through his body, remembering what had happened.

His pack mates, if he could even call them that, had turned into monsters. Wayne, in secui form killing that raider, just kept flashing through his eyes. There had been no mercy no hesitation, just pure power and anger. Tiny Dixie was a flurry of movement, flashing with attacks. Even Sebastian had joined this darkened image, blood spraying as he did his work. Shivers ran nonstop through his body from where he was hidden. As soon as everything had been settled down Hadley had fled deeper into the woods, trying to hide from those he was sure would turn against him. He hadn't been strong enough after all. Nestled in a tiny den Hadley curled up, trying to be as small as possible. Maybe no one would find him.

Hadley! :O,

For once Selene had occupied her four-legged form, limping about in he lupus form. Her body had become a screaming fireball of pain, horridly aching and stinging in all the wound's glory. Sel's energy had been clean sapped from her body, taken away with the force of the injuries inflicted on her pelt. The fight had not been a good one, blood everywhere...Screams and cries of pained agony. It had the girl feeling faint with nausea. She hadn't been there to fight alongside Hadley, she hadn't been able to fight for him! The smell of festering flesh was normal in the lands, even upon her own derma and chocolatey pelt. A tongue pushed itself over her legs, attempting for maybe the fiftieth time that day to clean the arrow wounds upon her body. What upset her was that she had failed Hadley. Hadn't been there. And he hadn't even come back to the room.

Fear gripped the heart of the willowy hybrid, he could be dead. He could be seriously hurt! Lifting her nose, the small girl scented the air for him. He was around, nearby but away from her general point in Casa. There was blood, small spots of crimson all around. Casa reeked in blood since the raid, yet this small amount scared Selene right out of her skin. Slightly weak and spindly legs lifted the Vansenza was protest, almost enough to reopen the gashes about her thighs. Wincing, Sel decided to track her lover down. The form she held was not her favorite, much too small and vulnerable to the forces of the world. Just like a lone tree, the strong winds could easily sweep her away, destroy her entire existence. Still, walking on three legs was much easier this way. Soon, Selene was deep into the forest, Hadley's scent close. Turning, Sel saw something in a low and out-of-normal view den, eyes brightening both happily and worriedly at the mottled man. "Hadley! Oh Hadley...You're hurt..." Immediately she was there, pushing her about reassuringly into his neck. The den wasn't as small as it appeared, she could easily slip in. That's what she did, standing over him, tongue grazing over his body. "Hadley...I-I'll help you..." Small worried tears slipped down her small face, he was so...Vulnerable right now. Her own injuries were thrown aside, her mid only focusing on helping with Hadley's. She yelped when se relatives her tongue was slowly opening some of the more minor wounds. Apologetically, her tongue caught the tip of his nose. "I'm sorry...I want to help you..." Finally, she had decided that she had done enough. Settling right down into his body, her fur against his own protectively. Her snout nuzzled into his neck, "How did this happen? The raid?" Was the one that hurt Hadley dead? They better be! How dare they hurt him? Her small body tucked against his own, head resting on his platform of a back. Was there anything else she could do for him? "Tell me what you need Hadley? I'll get it for you...Just tell me.." She whispered, whining softly under her breath, standing again to re-clean his injuries, standing over fearfully in case she had managed to hurt her beloved.

OOC Laughs

The nightmare of seeing those he had considered gentle kill without mercy was terrifying. He couldn't say anyone was safe to be around. Maybe all of them had that hidden killer side, prepared to slice him open at the slightest provocation. The call of his name had him jerking, head lifted to see what it was. Selene, in a tiny lupine form, stood outside, looking very worried. Blood came from her, and he whimpered. They must have hurt her. He had failed again, promising to protect her but never there. His eyes were open, taking her in, but not seeing anything deeper, too much in shock.

Selene's tongue rasped over his injuries, trying to heal them. Small whines slipped through him at the touch, though they were much too quiet to draw any attention. He had learned that much. Revealing what kind of pain he was in meant greater pain would be created, just for the sake of hearing him cry out. His nose was licked apologetically, and Hadley turned himself onto Selene. His injuries cleaned his own tongue began to rasp over Selene's body, working on making them better. He paused at her question, nodding his head before resuming his licking. Both hybrids worked to calm and help the other, Hadley unable to voice anything except the occasional shiver running through his body, wishing he could stop remembering.

She became so worried about him, eyes widened in concentrated anxiety. How could she help him? Her eyes closed as he returned her actions, trying to clean her own injuries. It was comforting in a way, to have someone try to help her out too. The marks of her injuries were horrifying, she had seen them in Optime form, the ugly jagged things. Clothing, as it seemed would become a good concealer (as much as she hated them) Selene snuggled into him, whimpering softly in her anxiousness. "Hadley..." She sighed, licking gently under his chin. "I'm so sorry..." Her heart was heavy, she had neglected to know about where he was and about his injuries. Her head lay itself on his paws. Red eyes looking up fearfully. How had she let this happen? The scent of both of their blood made her dizzy, settling in like a puppy into his body for comfort. "You're shaking..." Was it trauma or cold? With both in mind, Selene switched around to lay near the entrance of the den, pushing her head into his fur. "Tell me what you need love...I'll make this all better." She promised, nuzzling reassuringly into his throat. Hopefully she had stopped his bleeding, all of hers had been sealed up pretty well.

There was many ways to try and help him, but none came to mind. Hopefully her presence and simple way of help would reassure the larger wolfdog, the Italian whimpered softly afraid of what would happen to her beloved. If something did, she would be in trouble and completely at fault if he got sick or infection, or even if he died...These thoughts terrified her, closing ruby eyes seeking out his comfort.

OOC Laughs

Whimpers spilled from the tiny female before him. He did his best to reassure her, large hands petting the lupus formed hybrid, wishing that he could make her feel better in some way. He had failed to protect her, having Selene return to him covered in injuries. It was amazing how as soon as she entered thoughts and fears for himself disappeared. It was only natural, having the fact that he had no worth beaten into his head so many times. Even as he regained his confidence Hadley ranked the importance and care of others above himself, working to care for them even if it hurt himself.

Hadley looked down with surprise at himself, watching a small tremor run through him. Yes, he was indeed shaking and he didn't know why. A natural reaction to seeing so much death and pain, he supposed. He wasn't really a warrior in any way. Hadley didn't fit in with the warriors and killers that littered this pack. Hadley wasn't strong enough for that. Selene pushed into him, half into his lap, nuzzling under his chin. He buried himself into his fur, not knowing what to answer for her. Hadley didn't want anything except for the nightmare to stop.

As his nose pushed gently into her fur, Sel let out a soothing sound, a rumble of reassurance deep in her tiny body. In this form, Selene had never realized how much bigger Hadley was than herself. His hands almost spanned across her back! His gentle petting had the red eyes of the hybrid closing them happily, his touch forgotten in all the pain of the raid. A pink tongue shot out to lap gently at his chest, settling in almost just like a pet. Oh how she wanted to comfort the larger hybrid, show him that there was never going to be a time when she hurt him. The coydog so desperately wanted to shift to Optime, wrap her lean body around his and hold him tight. But the circumference of the den prevented that. Much to her dismay.

Instead, like a puppy she snuggled into his lap, curled in his legs with her tail wrapped around her for warmth. The Italian had no idea how long she would stay with him in the small den, although any time spent with Hadley was special. "Hadley?" Sel looked up from her dark paws, glancing up to the man she so wished to be betrothed to, careful not to reopen his wounds. "We're safe now...All's well.." The top of her head was butted gently into his chest, pressed carefully there for comfort. Asking him the reason for his nervousness would only ruining things, terrify her companion again.

Laying back down, Sel glanced out the entrance to the den, conjuring up anything to say. The small woman took a breath, starting a hopefully comforting story. Both of them enjoyed stories, and hopefully this one would be joyful. "There once was a time long ago...Just after our ancestors began to shift..." It was a story her caretaker Sephira had told her when Selene was stuck in a stage of unreality and feverish terror after the ship. "There was a man, the prince of the pack. The only thing that gave him respect was his title. He was smaller than the other men, was not a warrior. " A fluffy tail brushed against him softly, continuing with a soft voice. "At one point, his father asked him to choose a woman to be his wife. He had the choice of any woman in the world." Ah, another love story. But most stories were romances anyway. "Being bold, he wanted to choose a supernatural wife. The daughters of the sun and moon came to our world...Only one to be chosen for the prince." Hopefully this story was going well, looking up the hybrid smiled softly giving the daughter of the sun and moon's descriptions. "The daughter of the sun, She was as beautiful and as light as the bright summer days, warm and bright. But conceited. She didn't care about the prince, only that she retained her sunny beauty. The other, Nephthys her name was. I'm named after her for some reason." A small laugh escaped her lips, even comparing herself to the lunar goddess was foolish. Sel could never amount to that beauty. "She was so beautiful...Everything she did was as beautiful as the cold winter nights in the light of the moon...She sparkled like the stars above. She was cold. Her aloofness towards the prince turned him away, but it was only for show. The daughter of the moon was testing him. If he would choose beauty over the person..." Now the story was becoming silly, uncalled for. "The prince almost chose the sun goddess...But he could see Nephthys aura or soul, that she was kindred and pure. " Closing her eyes, Sel finished off the story. "So he chose her. The daughter of the sun didn't care anyway. So things went well. They lived...Happily...Ever...After--" Happily ever after. Such a funny phrase. Was there a happily ever after? Not really. Had she ever heard of one in reality? No.

OOC Laughs

The small hybrid climbed the rest of the way into his lap, becoming very much like a large teddy for him to clutch onto in his fear. He buried himself into her, breathing in the familiar scent. She was safety, warm nights in his room with no one else to bother them, whispered words of care. The tremors in his body slowly stilled, reassured by her words that they were safe. He was bent over her, protecting her and being protected from the thin shell of his mind that kept him from returning to being a slave once again.

His ears perked up as a story began to be told. Resting where he was Hadley let her voice glide over him. Again, it was a story of love, like so many of the ones exchanged between them seemed to be. Did they know any other kind? Every story worth telling seemed to be about it. Choosing between the sun and the moon seemed difficult, and Hadley wasn't sure what exactly it was that made this male special, except that he was called prince. Could he care and love for the moon properly? That worry ate at him as the story drew to an end, and Hadley, exhausted from the night's battle and the fear, fell asleep.
