OOC here. /+000

Life at the cove had been, more or less, calm for the past few months- Insomnia had a seemingly normal life now. In her memory were her travels - they clung to her like dark clouds did to the raindrops they fought to keep caged. Sometimes those clips of her life began to play in her head, and a strange mixture of fear, love and pride swelled in her being; fear for how negative she'd felt, love for her family and pack, proud that he'd come back and played out his role after all.
She was laying comfortably on her stomach, the soft fur dangling from her underside ironed by the cold, flat stone he chose to climb. Over its edge hung his forepaws and in the air stood his head, the cool breeze detangling each individual hair on her thick coat. Winter was just passing but she still had some fluff in her fur.
Insomnia watched the sea rolling onto her doorstep before it was dragged away again over and over, as though it were on a loop so fascinating one could watch it for days. She dreaded to think how awful it'd be to go in there in this time of year - she had always loved the ocean, and there wasn't a single doubt in her mind that it was at least half the temperature inside than it was on the sand and the stone. She rolled over on her back and continued watching the waves come in and out.

do you mind if this is set on the 16th? i’m a derp and got two threads started on the same day and at the same time X_____X

Ezra’s favorite part of spring had always been the resulting warmth that came with the change in season. His fur had shed most of the massive winter coat that came with his husky/wolf blood, and it seemed as if he shrunk half in size. He was still massive, of course, but the weight loss he felt had been extremely comforting. Even little Eli shed his small winter coat, and he was once again of awkward proportions but still as adorable as ever. Hopefully with the arrival of better weather, his life would turn around for the better as well.

Ezra had been cooped up in Hillsburn for what felt like an eternity while the snow fell. He had taken care of his family, done his duties, but his personal time had always taken second priority. It was finally starting to get to him. But Eli was taking a leisurely nap, and despite being in the common area of Hillsburn no one seemed to be around. So he bolted.

The winter had got him out of shape, and his breathing quickly turned into wheezing as he tumbled over the icy, melting patches of snow that still remained. He lost all sense of time, but he wasn’t trying to keep track of it anyway. The jagged beach appeared after some time, the familiar sand squishing beneath his paws. For a moment, he was gripped with nostalgia; he hadn’t touched the beach since he left the Court. He stopped in his tracks for a few moments, looking out on the water. A scent wafted by him; an unfamiliar one. The scent also brought tales of a pack the hybrid had never been exposed to, either. Maybe it was time for him to branch out and meet someone new. The secui followed the trail north for a while, until the source came into a sight. A dark female lay in the sand, not noticing him from afar. He smiled, glad he came. She seemed perfectly friendly and not harmful. He barked quietly to let her know he was there as to not scare her before approaching, curled tail wagging on his back.

Fair skinned miss danced a predators duet with her reflection, waxen figurine matching her movement as if she'd rehearsed all her life- just beyond the template of water that seperated them, blurring her pretty figure and making her blue and green eyes glitter. She smiled, curious and secretly insecure, until her inquisitiveness begged her to stop and come closer. Consumed with the blurred image looking back, pink and frost with a fragile smile that might shatter at any given moment, she stepped closer- slow, gentle movement, unwilling to spook her companion. The girl behind the mirror did the same. She touched her black nose, extending quiet and tentative salutations. Cold and wet, her whole muzzle became wet and that's when she had heard the sound.
She perked her eyes and turned around to see the wolf creature walking towards her and she smiled and wagged her tail lightly above the sand. She got up to a sitting position and continued to smile. "Hello there!"

worst post ever. sorry. so tired. Also, I think Ezra might be joining ND soon soooo if Insomnia could tell him about ND later in the thread i'd appreciate it! <3

She was friendly, which the mammoth canine appreciated. Ezra was so used to confrontation outside of his Hillsburn home that it was a refreshing change of pace. The wolf before him was also very pretty which didn't hurt the situation. Ezra let out his signature grin as he closed the gap between them. A breeze past by them, ruffling his ragged coat during his walk.

"Hey," he said softly. "Enjoying the water? Soon it will be warm enough to swim in," the thought of summer and warm and water made the bushy tail on his back wave even faster.
