In the last few days her life had taken a monumental shift for the extreme worse. Matteo exiled and herself now carrying the spawn of his brother. Gemma was not stupid, she had felt the change of motherhood too many times to be unsure of if it were true or not. She was pregnant although she wasn't far into it. It couldn't have happened at a worse time. Matteo was gone now, maybe forever, a fact that had her clutching her head and trying extremely hard not to scream. He was gone and there was nothing she could do about it, nothing at all.

She did not cry as she once would have done, she was far too gone for tears but she could not stop the helpless whines that passed her lips as she mourned for the loss of her mate. The woman was where she usually was besides the Great fire, now her only light in the world. Camilla had moved into her house along with Carissa for moral support and while it did ease her loneliness, nothing could stop her suffering. She loved Matteo, she LOVED him. He couldn't leave her, not ever. She curled a hand protectively around her stomach and leaned in closer to the fire, its warmth passed over her in waves, allowing her to cease her hyperventilating.

Her startling blue eyes which had once shone with the ferocity of polished gems were now dull and lifeless, containing barely any will to carry on. she was lost now, well and truly, without her white knight, who would keep her safe from the darkness that threatened her sanity. At her side Tamai Waki suddenly appeared, the white buffalo once again giving strength by his presence, no words however could heal Gemma's broken heart and fractured mind.
