Wounds of Another Kind

It had been a couple of days since the raid and most members seemed to still be on edge, but the Sole would not sulk or grumble his day away. Instead it was clearly pride that held the older male together. The members of Casa had pulled together, matching the raiders and over throwing them, leaving some dead and others scared for their lives as they ran away. The raiders had deserved every injury they received, and Jazper felt no pity for those who had died though he knew that they were lucky not to have lost anyone themselves. It seemed that the mandatory training had paid off and every member had escaped death however he knew that Regner was quite busy putting everyone back together.

As for himself, the friendly giant now sported bandages wrapped around his upper torso, shielding the fairly large blade wound on his left side as well as keeping his broken ribs in place for healing. He had also received a bite wound on his shoulder but in his Halfling form his fur had protected him from the wound being severe. Although he knew how to change the bandages himself he had decided it best to have Regner look at the wounds to make sure they were cared for properly. Slowly he made his way to one of the patient rooms and opened the door. A familiar brown fae sat on the bed, obviously waiting for Regner as well. “Selene” the Knight greeting with a smirk, moving to sit next to her on the bed. “How are you doing?” She had joined his group in fighting off the majority of the trespassers and he was very thankful for that. She had proven that she could handle her own and she seemed to have escaped with few wounds.

The raid had been horrific, all the blood and cries of pain was almost enough to make the small hybrid nauseous, other than Casa being hurt badly, the raiders had been given their share of pain. But they deserved it! How idiotic could they be that they would dare! She had fought her hardest for the pack, given her all towards the protection of the other Cavalries. But the wounds inflicted upon her frail physique were not the issue at the moment. Not at all. It hadn't been too long since the conflict with Isa, it had been enough to bring tears to the coydog's exotic eyes. How could she? Hadley was her alter, her soul and what she had so sacrificed her heart towards. The nerve!

As she sat waiting for her injuries to be checked, (many of them not even from the raid!) She had out her face in her palms. There simply was no victory for the lovestruck italian. Clearly Ismeme had won and taken everything she had. In the duration of this pain and heartache, her mind had reserved an almost dullness. Perhaps for the protection of her sanity, to keep her from leaping upon the throat of unsuspecting Ismeme, even that thought brought a tremble through the hybrid's body. Either she desired to cut the throat from the silvery woman, watch her bleed...Or maybe it was her cowardice again. Like when she had challenged her enemy and ran off. Every single mark upon her forearms and palms was the proof. The lines carved from steel to soft flesh, her only distraction.

A voice brought her from the world the woman had numbed herself for protection, ears flattening in fear that it was Isa or Hadley. Instead, it was the kind face of her leader. He inquired about her wounds, and Sel found herself fumbling for words. "J-Jaz...I'm fine...I guess." The knowledge that she could be punished for the act she had committed, for threatening a fellow knight kept the young woman silent, to prevent the sloppy, undignified tears from slipping down her face. If he asked, she'd tell. But engaging in a conversation about her failure and heartache so soon would simply add nothing but more layers of grief and self pity to her personality once again. "What about you? Were you alright?"
