The interior of the large university was impenetrably dark now that the sun had sunk low beyond the horizon, dipping out of sight and taking all of the strong useful light with it. Sharp wolven eyes were able to cut through the darkness, were able to see, just, but still the university was uncomfortably dark. Soran had only moments ago pushed her way inside, shoving the heavy wooden door out of her way in order to get inside, it had been a struggle; the dark fae had to set her shoulder against it to force it open. And now the slender fae was inside the large building, she smiled instantly in the darkness, this was familiar, the size reminded her of the old Syemv house, and the smell, like old books and furniture was so similar she could not help but allow her lips to stretch into a grin at it, it felt oddly like home for a moment. The tall fae padded along the long corridor, stepping neatly over the discarded chair, left broken in the middle of the soft carpet that covered the floor, her nose wrinkled in annoyance as she caught the shadowy form of a book crushed beneath the wooden chair, its spine broken beyond repair after years of being forced open on the single page, still the fae lifted it and closed it neatly, placing it upon a nearby oaken desk, ignoring the way several aged yellow pages fell from the book, floating to the floor like the fallen leaves in Autumn. It saddened Soran to see books abused in such a way, she was a big fan of literature, her adoptive mother had taught her to read at a young age and had fed the ebony female's passion for books for as long as she was alive, so even now the dark lady treated each book with care and respect, treasuring them as small nuggets of information of cultures and worlds that were long since lost.
Soran continued down the hallway, pausing only when she found a decorative candelabra with the candles still held tightly in their separate holders, her wolven sight was fine for wandering about and not bumping into anything or anyone, but reading the tiny print of the books that she was sure she would find in the library of this place (for she knew a place this size and with the smell of old books filling it was sure to have a library). As soon as the fae had seen the imposing building, as soon as she had read the University sign that was etched into the stone of one of the grand walls in the dying rose light of the evening, she had made a beeline for it. The jade eyed lady had been wandering aimlessly all day, much like she had the few previous days; she was still hoping to come across the pale lady that had so tightly held her heart that despite what seemed an age of absence, that the dark fae still loved her so. But once again her search had been fruitless, since talking with young Sirius on the beach this morning though she had been restless, unable to settle in one place and most definitely unable to go back to sleep, despite having not closed her eyes and fallen into the land of slumber for well over a day now. She had decided to go for a walk, and once she had spied the grand old university she had decided to continue her task, she was creating a library in Haven Manor and they had few books, she might as well collect a few from around this place tonight and begin to fill the bookshelves in the house.
After rummaging in one of the draws of another of the oaken desks that lined the halls, Soran had found a box of matches, she carefully lit each of the candles in their holders, 3 candles in total, the light instantly creating a warm glow all around her, shining off of the walls and making everything visible in much sharper focus. Now that the lady had light to guide her she began to pad more rapidly, following the directional signs that she came upon as she wandered around the maze-like corridors, all the time searching for the "main library". The obsidian fae walked down the twisting corridors, stepping carefully over debris and the like as she walked, pausing only to pick up a neat canvas satchel, one which was so like the one she had owned which had gone missing, she assumed it had been caught in the fire, along with all of her books and her flute. A smile crossed her face as she looked down at the canvas bag with its single strap, pleased that she had found herself a replacement book bag. Carefully setting the candles down for a moment she slung it across her chest, the empty bag resting against her hip. With renewed vigour at already having one discovery, Soran continued on through the university, exploring with a spring in her step now, despite the fatigue that should have been engulfing her now, making her limbs heavy and forcing her to sleep. And yet the fae did not feel this, she was too excited at the prospect of exploring and finding new treasures and books.
The fae finally reached the library, and as she did a gasp escaped her lips, the room was enormous, and filled ceiling to floor with shelves and shelves of books. So many books, with coloured and plain spines, large books, small books, thick books, thin books, all there for Soran to explore and enjoy, this was like heaven to the dark lady, quickly she bounded across the room, examining the first bookshelf, holding the light close enough to read the spines whilst trying not to set her new found archive ablaze. With a chuckle she began to scan each name on each row, selecting a few and placing them on the floor at her feet, so that she would be able to either stuff them into her new bag and take them home, or leave them here and come back for them another day. Soran was in a good mood, the books raising her spirits greatly, absent mindedly, she began to hum as she worked.[/html]
