Summer's last ray of sunshine

They have camped next to the clear blue lake at the south of the sugarwoods.

This was the farthest he had ever been from home, from Ichika. The way so far had been long, much longer than he was used to walking and the boy found himself tiring now in greater amounts. He refused, however, to give himself a rest by asking to be lifted up onto the cart Pandemic was pulling or the special one made for them that Salvia pulled. He loitered towards the back of the ground on par with the large white stallion, Emmett. The blue eyed male watched where he put his hooves near the young boy, Honrin was the only one of the family that Emmett actually liked, he tolerated Jace and Temo and refused point blank to entertain Keldava, Pandora or Dalgina and had scared them away from him a few times.

Night was closing in by the time they stopped to make a camp like they had done the night before. Only this time they were near a big lake rather than at the foothills of the mountains. His parents bustled about unhooking the cart and setting up a small fire. Honrin sat apart from his sisters and parents watching the silery water reflect the light of the moon. He had been in bad spirits ever since they had left Ichika. He had been horrified to discover he was going to have to leave his temple behind, all those memories lost to people who couldn't understand them, not like he did.

He refused the food when it was offered to him and gave his mother his equivalent of the cold shoulder, meaning rather than answer her gentle questions he simply stared at her and said nothing.
