The loss of Jace, Dalgina, and the rest of their family had been heartbreaking and crushing to the Ichika moral. Soon after, Neela had also left the pack. Kiara had been extremely upset when her friends had gone, but she hadn't had time to dwell on her feelings. Even so, the loss of so many members at once and the reduced size of Ichika made Kiara extremely nervous. As the pack dwindled in size, the dangers to her puppies increased. The arctic wolf had considered moving, but had rejected the idea as soon as it entered her mind. The puppies were too small, to young, to fragile. She couldn't even bring herself to trust her own pack mates around them, why would she trust another strange pack with their safety? Especially when that male was among the New Dawn ranks.

Kiara was happy to see that Tharin had stopped at a respectable distance from her den. She didn't want to run him off for being to close. Sapphire orbs flicked briefly to the side to note the half buried leg. The snow would preserve the leg long enough for Kiara to make a meal out of it in the days to come. Her fluffy tail wagged happily and low behind her. Even with their newfound friendship, Kiara didn't forget Tharin's dominant position over her. It was natural and easy gesture for her, one that had been engrained into her mind since childhood.

It took Tharin's awkward movements to make the white female realize the nature of their interactions. She too, looked away embarrassed. It just felt so natural and right for they to be close, yet in reality they were not pack members. Kiara had been treating him like a male from her pack, something she realized was wrong. "Um...I'm glad to have met you too...I should uh, I should escort you to the boarders...pack law and all." The young mother looked nervously back towards her den. The soft wails of her children drifted towards her and she had to force herself to look away. Silently, she began to walk, her feet dragging her body back to the boarders of Ichika. Once she had escorted Tharin outside of the pack lands, she would race home to her children. However, until then, duty called.

Tharin might be the higher ranked of the pair, but that didn't mean he couldn't be embarrassed by her actions. If anything it made him feel responsible for them, being the one that was supposed to set what was allowed and not in their relationship. If only it wasn't so easy to forget the difference between them. Not dominance and submission, as he didn't even need to think of that, but the fact that they weren't pack, and he was most certainly not her mate. No matter how tempting it was to think that way. He smiled at her soft words, seeing that she remembered how they were as well. It was almost sad, but the way it was meant to be. He would never act against that.

The wails of the pups filled the air, and Tharin wanted nothing more than to tell her that she could stay there, and he'd take himself out. Laws were laws though, so he nodded his head, and did his best to travel as quickly as he could so she could return to their side, giving them the care they needed. Once there he nodded briefly, dismissing her as a superior was meant to. He watched her race back, and turned. Tharin wouldn't be able to forget her. Not a mother with pups, struggling to get food. It just wasn't in him.
