Blue eyes were fixed wide with shock as Keldava stared forwards, hardly daring to blink in case the sight before her vanished in that instant of darkness.

The pup had heard of the thing before her, after a moment of thought she conjured the name "Sea" to go with it, but she had never actually seen it before; her wanderings in Ichika had mostly been away from the sea and towards the mountains. Keldava had been tearing about her new home, eager to see as much as she could in as little time as possible, when she had accidentally come across the coastline.

Keldava crept forwards to take a closer look but ended up squeaking in shock when the odd yellow dirt collapsed under her, leaving her buried up to her belly! Fortunately the odd dirt was loose and didn't entirely trap her legs. Once her initial shock had abated Keldava took advantage of the weirdly soft and nice smelling dirt; spending a few minutes rolling around in it before she continued wading towards the sea.

The closer she got the easier it was to walk, the yellow dirt being slightly damp but more compact up here, allowing her to speed up from a slow wade to a steady jog as she approached the water, skidding into s play bow at the last second before touching the water. Keldava leaned down her nose to sniff at the water and recoiled as an incoming wave sent it up into her nostrils. Spluttering the puppy scrambled backwards and down onto her rear end, spitting up water and glaring at the waves.

Keldava regained her feet and positioned herself looking at an incoming wave, darting forward to snap at the water and then darting backwards quickly before it could do so much as wet her feet. Eventually the ferocity bled out of the actions and Keldava's tail started to wag as she darted backwards and forwards, happy yips coming from her mouth as she enjoyed her game with the waves.

Sorry for taking so long!

It felt like so much time had been spent away from home; and probably because it had. First the festival had arrived early in the year drawing the attention of the mercantile pack, and Orin had spent every day there until its closure. Shortly after her return to d’Arte though, just as she tried to pick up her old duties and continue to perform her job as both Storico and Domatrice, she had set out again, but this time to make rounds throughout Nova Scotia to visit her two daughters, now both a year old. First she had seen Juliet in Casa di Cavalieri, and later she met up with Titania in the new pack, New Dawn, that seemed to be thriving with tremendous success.

She had lingered away from d’Arte for longer than she intended to, when an impromptu trip to Cour des Miracles landed her in the company of a… close friend.

Yellow eyes squeezed shut and then blinked rapidly as the Domatrice shook her head, a girlish grin on her face. Put those memories away, Orin! You’ve got work to do. But it wasn’t work that she was out here to worry about now. The livestock had all been fed, the horses that she was responsible for bathed and brushed. It was a miracle in itself that she had managed to complete her chores that morning with as distracted as her mind was. So the Tundra wolfess came here to the shoreline, hoping to relax and clear her thoughts a bit.

She was surprised when she shifted her vision up to peer out at the bay and saw a dark splotch against the damp sand. A small dark splotch. A puppy sized splotch. Cocking her head, she tried to place the child to a family but could not. Over the sound of the water and the child’s own playful yips, surely the puppy didn’t know that she was there. Laughing softly to herself as she watched the girl’s antics, she began moving forward, foot paws sinking in the malleable sand.

“Hey, hellooo there!” she called, laughingly. “That’s a big enemy you’re taking on there.”

Word Count → 251 :: Sorry this is so late

While Keldava wasn't much of a hunter yet she had the makings of a good one; even a this young stage one could see that her body was developing fairly heavily muscled for her size and, more importantly, her senses were strong. Keldava managed to pick out Orin's scent before the older wolf spoke. Keldava gave an excited yip as she realised she wasn't alone and spun around, falling into the sand as she managed to get her feet jumbled together.

Keldava's feet scrabbled in the loose sand as she started sprinting towards the white furred stranger, skidding to a stop before her in a cloud of sand. Keldava was still for all of a second before she took off again, now circling the stranger while sniffing wildly. When the elder wolf spoke Keldava stopped in place, plopping down into the sand just in front of them. Tail wagging at the stranger's happy tone Keldava barked a reply, "Water tastes bad, tried to attack me! And there's so much of it!"

For the first time Keldava's gaze starter to make the long journey up the stranger's body, her eyes open and entirely unafraid; Keldava had yet to encounter a canine that hadn’t been kind to her and saw no reason to be afraid of a stranger. Her eyes widened when they reached the white wolf's brightly coloured mane, "You look pretty." she said happily, tongue hanging out in a pant as the effects of her mad dash caught up with her.
