New Home

Tharin bounded across his new home joyfully. Hopefully no one would be offended by the puppy-like exuberance he was showing. Nose to the ground he worked hard following it around, distracted by the scent of his pack mates. There was so much to learn. There was a female, just in heat, and another one that smelled strongly of a male that was clearly powerful from the way that he moved, pawprints sure of themselves. Two older wolves, both female, and the scent of the wolf that he'd talked with was there. The scent of an injured wolf marked the lands as well, and he had to wonder why he was allowed in the pack. Surely it was dangerous to let a wolf that could slow down the pack in.

He paused at a stream, taking in a deep drink. His tail wagged brightly before he continued on, stepping through the cold water to reach an open area. Caves flooded the area, the scent of all the pack members that he'd smelled in the area. This was the den site. Happily Tharin investigated it, avoiding the ones that had a thick scent, clearly claimed and private. He would be sleeping outside, not feeling the need to have a den, and preferably in a big heap with everyone else. There was still a lot of grounds to explore. His tail still wagging wildly he wondered when he'd finally be able to meet those he had smelled.

The silver male yawn, as his deadly jaws parted as he stood up stiffly upon his three legs. Stretching out he groaned, another day. Another mindless day that he was destined to wonder around the pack land, and pretend that all the females that were deep in their heat did not bother him. It wasn’t as if he would take a female against her will, or without her making it clear that she wanted him to cover her, he was not his father’s child, he would die upon his grave never making love again to a female then rape some female, or even male. That was not something he would ever have to face the crime for.

The male could see off in the distance a youthful being bouncing around like his back legs were on fire, with a groan the male shook his head. The male muttered a few choice words, that really amounted to nothing as he moved over toward the new sight of the wolf with the child like antics. ”You! Kid. You new here?!” The male spoke sharply and coldly. He was without a care if anyone really liked him or not any more. He shifted upon his three legs as he awaited the answer of the male.

He had been enjoying himself until a sharp voice cut across. Immediately defensive he turned around, wondering what had been wrong. Titania had said that he was free to explore the lands, and he'd avoided areas that were clearly marked as private. This wolf's reaction was far different from the other members he had met, cold and clearly disdainful of what he was doing. Tharin's eyes focused on the male, ears flattened with uncertainty. His hackles were raised, ready to fight if need be. It would be a shame if that happened on his first day with the pack. In fact, that was something to avoid.

Noting that the silver wolf only had three legs Tharin's hackles dropped. He didn't have to be defensive around this one. Tharin was confidant that he could handle himself, being larger and stronger than the wolf that was before him. Yes. Just arrived. His voice was respectful, though dismissive of the other's approach. He didn't feel like getting involved with someone so cold. He wanted to explore the pack, make sure that this was his home. Considering how the first member to meet him here was so cold, it definitely made Tharin wonder if he'd made the right choice with this pack.

The silver male was never one for fighting, it wasn’t that he couldn’t fight, he wasn’t as skilled at it on as some of the other members of the pack, but he would not shy away from a chance to prove that he was not someone that just anyone would want to pick a fight with. The half blind Sawtooth male had earned every single scab, and scar and now wore them with great honor, they were his badges of honor. No longer did he allow the milk blue eye to no longer to be hidden away under a closed eyelid of shame.

Chuckling as he seen the youth roll his ears back and then raise the furr upon his hackles, he smiled, as he lifted his lips and gave a low grow, as the male matched the aggression that the youth had put out. It was his own warning not to mess with him, he was not that much older, however with that age came knowledge and strength.

The silver male nodded, watching the male passively and maybe unknowing show submission towards him. Smiling, the male watched the youthful boy, ”Good for you.” He spoke in a bit of a softer tone. ”Glad you were smart enough to join the pack and not trespass into these wonderful lands.” the silver male was having a hard time accepting these foolish youthful member that thought they knew it all.

WC: 300+ OOC: Hey Noah looks like we finally get to rp together!! Wooot!

Come on Noah there is no need for that. We certainly don't want the new guys first impression of the pack to think that we are mean. cut him some slack, he looks like he is a fine addition.

The words had come from behind a large tree that was close to the two individuals and slowly Shadow walked from behind the tree with tail held high. He looked to Noah and even though he held himself like an Epsilon should he was in no way going to throw his weight around unless he had to make Noah behave or something around those lines. Shadow was kind regardless of his rank and he only wanted peace between the two and nothing more. Shadow walked up and stood next to Noah and lightly bumped him with a very kind smile on his face and then he looked at Tharin and nodded lightly as he continued to smile.

Nice to meet you new blood. My name is Shadowfang, you can call me Shadow for short and I would like to know your name as well. If we are going to be brothers it would make since to know what your name is don't you think?

Shadow sat down on his haunches as his tail moved lightly from side to side and his ears were at attention as he listened for words from Noah and to the reply that would come from the newest addition to New Dawn. It was good that Shadow had been exploring the lands because from what he managed to overhear, it would seem that Noah was being very cold to the new member but Shadow also knew that Noah liked to joke and that sometimes it was hard to tell when he was serious or not but shadow was able to tell.

What did he just say? Did he just imply that Tharin was so stupid, so foolish to actually have the gall to cross clearly marked territory? The way that the wolf spoke, it was clear that he didn't care for Tharin, and wanted him off the land and away from the pack. His hackles rose, immediately taking on a challenging stance. He wasn't going to take that. Especially not from a cripple. At least Tharin could contribute to the pack and help out, unlike someone with such an obvious disability. He couldn't believe this! Tharin was prepared to leave the pack right then and there, thinking himself better off on his own, or even living with two leggers, than accused of having such a lack of respect.

Another voice rang out, and Tharin shifted around, growling angrily. Another member to pick on him? He would fight if he had to. Tharin was starting to think it had all been a trick to just get him to join. The kindness Shandom showed him was probably just an act to get him to join, someone for them to boss around and make fun of. The ignorant wolf that hadn't known about two leggers. The wolf that stepped out was higher ranked, but Tharin wasn't exactly going to trust him right away, uncertain now about what this pack was. Tharin. His hackles lowered slightly, making sure to be submissive towards Shadow, though he purposely turned his back on the one called Noah, declaring him unworthy of the wolf's attention.

Spring! Finally! What a beautiful spring day it was beginning to become, and Zalen was enjoying lying on the mound outside the den sunning his ebony fur. He was splayed out, all gangly Luperci arms and legs, and was enjoying a wonderful doze when his ear flicked at the sound of pad-falls. Usually he would have ignored it, for the comings and goings of his pack-mates did not concern him at times. But still, Zalen opened up one light olive eyes to watch as his newest Epsilon, Shadowfang, went trotting off towards the river. Now awake, Zalen propped himself up on his elbows and stretched his long legs out behind him before getting onto all fours and trotting in the same direction. A cool drink sounded nice.

The small stream was not too far away from the den, so it did not take long for Zalen to realize that it was not just Shadow congregated there, but a couple others. Noah, and the scent of the newest male, Tharin, whom Zalen had not yet met. The Alpha slowed to a casual walk as a he came up to the scene, just as Shadow was telling Noah there was ‘no need for that’. Zalen’s eyes flickered between the three males; Shadowfang, dominant and relaxed; Noah, irritated as he always seemed to be, and the new member, Tharin, puffed up and looking quite put-off. What was going on here?

Shadow seemed to have it under control, but it was an interesting scene nonetheless. Zalen paused then, and suddenly flopped down in the grass under a tree, resting all his weight on his thigh and one locked arm. The other arm rested lazily against his hip, and he began panting, squinting his eyes and seemingly looking away from the group. He took on the visage of complete complacent reverie, but in truth he was watching them to see how they would act. He did this from time to time; sometimes the best way to know someone was not to interact with them at all, but instead, observe.

Any more Noah was at a shorter and shorter temper span with anything that lived, he hated everything and did not want to deal or be around anything that could even say a word to him, the silver male didn’t even want to spend time talking to his cougar any more, frankly she was just a stupid cat that wanted to tell him what to do, he had plenty of being around him telling what to say…who to smile and lower his snout to, he did not and would not deal with another mouth or another voice telling him what he needed to do. Watching the black male come out from nowhere, and passively demanded that he needed to be nice to the new member, the Sawtooth male twisted his head towards him, with a smile that allowed the black male to know that the words was not going to be nice. ”Oh but we are, we treat our member like dirt, allow the member to make snips at them, the leaders rub your face in mud and allow two packs to stand there and bite at you. “ The silver male referenced his punishment that happened earlier in this year that had turned him into the hateful being that he was now.

Noah lowered his head just enough to show that he was of lower rank to the black male now standing near him, With a grunt the silver male kept his good sapphire blue eye upon the new member of the pack.

Noah wanted to see the new member react to him, he wanted to stir up something, if for no other reason than he knew where this wolves breaking point was. ”It okay to ignore me…most members do.” The silver male spoke with a hiss to his voice, he could smell the black leader, Noah sneered he didn’t care what the male thought about how he treated the member. Noah knew that his spot in the pack was where it was when he joined for a reason, but the male did not care for the black leader and that had not been a secret.

OOC: Hey guys! here's a post of WC:339 for you!

Shadow was smiling to Tharin as he looked to him but that smile slowly turned to a grown and then a glare as he looked to Noah as he spoke. Rather than snap at Noah and start a fight he would do batter than that and not give Noah the attention and drama he wanted. Shadow listened to Noah speak and he shook his head lightly as he looked to Tharin.

I'm Sorry Tharin, Noah can be cold but he means well, he likes to be that way to everyone but I assure you that not everyone is like him when it comes to the pack. Including myself there are lots of brothers and sisters that would love to meet you and who would treat you like family and since you are part of the family you would be protected and cared for as such. Zalen and Titania are the Alphas and they are very kind and giving, there are rules yes and a curtain pride and way of acting is expected but you'll come to find that you will have many friends here and I would be honored to be one of them. You are probably checking out the land and getting to know your home better are you not? If that's the case I would love to come with you and show you around. I know first impressions are important and I'm sorry you had to meet the grouch of the pack but I would like to make up for it. What do you say?

Shadow's tail moved from side to side behind him and he nodded to Tharin and his front paws knitted at the ground under him as he was excited and he hoped that the new member of the pack would take his kindness so that Shadow could make up for the actions of Noah. Shadow smelled the air and he picked up his Alphas scent and he smiled lightly as he continued to look towards Tharin wondering what actions the wolf would take.

Tharin's attention was immediately grabbed by the sight of a two legger-not on two legs. For whatever reason this one was moving on all fours. He stared at it until it laid down to relax, ear only twitching once at the poisonous words from behind him. He'd already decided the other wasn't worth it, the words just something in the background, not even heard. His gaze did break when Shadow spoke again, apologizing for the cold wolf's behavior. He snorted in disbelief. If that's how he is he doesn't belong in a pack. Packs were social, they worked together. If this one disliked others, he was clearly better off as a loner. Even if it killed him from being such a cripple. He would be better off behaving well if he wanted to survive like that.

He listened, nodding his head. I met Titania, she was very nice. Tharin was still feeling very uncomfortable in the pack, though he had calmed down after he'd made his decision, adopting a more cheerful pose of submission, though there were subtle signals placing himself above Noah, if still below Shadow. The only thing I've seen that was unusual so far here is the two legger. He stopped himself, looking away in embarrassment. I mean, luperci. His tail wagged as he came over to Shadow, nuzzling him briefly. That sounds great.

Immediately the mood of these males was discerned by the Alpha, and when it came to one inparticular, Zalen was very disappointed. Noah had been growing more and more distant and more and more cold ever since his punishment near in the end of winter. Zalen had so hoped the male would grow out his awkward social habit and become a strong wolf once he had been accepted into the fold once more, but sadly this had not happened. The black Alpha gave out a nearly inaudible grunt of disapproval between his panting breaths.

Shadowfang on the other hand, held himself with poise and well-chosen words, even in the face of Noah’s rudeness towards the newcomers. Zalen was proud of his new Epsilon and saw good things in the future for him, especially if he and Insomnia were able to produce puppies. It was obvious Tharin’s feeling in this whole matter, him having turned his bristled back on Noah. Zalen might have done the same thing in his case, it was important to focus on only the positive and ignore the negative when it came to some things.

The new male told Shadow that he had already met Titania, which didn’t surprise Zalen, she most likely was the one who had accepted him. But when Tharin referred to Zalen as a two-legger, the Alpha sneezed out his breath to conceal a small chuckle. He knew his form was somewhat startled to non-Luperci, especially when he moved around in the way he did; he hoped that him appearing this way didn’t frighten the young male too badly. Ceasing his panting then, Zalen turned his face fully towards the three, ears perked and eyes searching, making it clear that if they so wished they could approach him now.

OOC here!

Shadow Chuckled as he started to move away from Noah walking with Tharin. There are plenty of wolves that have the ability to shift, even I do. The pack prefers the Lupus form over all the others because it is natural and our Ancestors used the Lupus form and didn't have any other form. However because of the ability to shift some tasks are made easier while others are made harder. For example, climbing a tree....very hard to do in this form, however running in this form is far faster than running on two legs, no matter how strong you are. You see?

Shadows tail moved lightly behind him as he Walked with his fellow pack mate and they left Noah and Zalen to be alone. Shadow hoped that Zalen would be to hard on Noah but Noah had been to short and mean to Tharin, especially since he was new.

Said is okay to skip Noah

The large black luperci turned his head towards them. It was clear that he was ready to be approached now, holding himself with a dignity that demanded respect. Whoever this was, he was high ranked indeed. Tharin was tempted to test himself against him, but he managed to think better of that, and held himself back. Instead he politely approached, taking a moment to sniff at the male, noting that Titania's scent clung to him very strongly. Politely he dipped his head as Shadow began to talk and turned, glancing back again. He'd have to talk to him again another time.

Tharin was surprised to hear that Shadow was a shifter as well. It seemed like most of the pack was, Shadow confirming that it was so. He was very far from home, where there were so few like him. It wasn't just culture, but literal changes in form as a difference now. Tharin nodded his head along, unsure about the tree climbing. He'd never done that, never lived in an area with trees at all, the highest vegetation being short bushes dotting the ground. Being able to travel quickly is important. The pair behind them quickly faded from Tharin's mind, leaving only the tinge of unease to rest inside, gnawing at his heart.
